They Told Me the Ending of Blasphemous was IMPOSSIBLE 

Cool video. I feel your pain..lol. I tried to figure out the esoteric puzzles in this game without looking things up. Because it was build as a sort of homage to the Souls games. Honestly though, I found more guidance from the extreme film Martyrs than from Souls titles. As a basic statement "suffering allows you to succeed". You have to slog through all the trials [penitence/torture] in order to understand why the main boss turned away from the miracle, and why you can sustain it. I am looking forward to playing part 2, but I hope they improved on the chore of trekking back and forth to do obscure things. I enjoyed the game, as I love this style of game, but I played through and enjoyed Salt & Sanctuary much more. I mention that because I played them back 2 back.

I enjoyed Blasphemous quite a bit. I beat it back when the physical first came out from LRG, and had a great time. It wasn't particularly tough, but like you, I cut my teeth on arcade games and Atari and NES stuff, so what passes for tough today doesn't feel so out of line. Godhome in Hollow Knight was a much bigger challenge than Blasphemous, and they're all pretty doable next to stuff like Mars Matrix. I don't play just for difficulty, though- I like an easy playthrough just fine, and Blasphemous had awesome atmosphere.

Started this game, it was “fun”. I think that’s the word for it. Not sure I enjoyed it enough to get back to it. Maybe one day

Makes me want to revisit it. I got one of the endings but I don't remember the first one you showed, but I also don't remember what you're fighting near halfway through... Hard to figure out what to do without spoiling but I've let the game sit for a while now so maybe this is what I need to motivate me to get back into it. Maybe the claims of difficulty have to do with the DLC? That was something else
