Eldee Tha Don speaks on how Investors' monies meant for his record label were misappropriated by middlemen and all that went down before he walked away from it all.
I for one ..ekele kingsley Was a staff of iman entertainment then ..I was head of promotion for the company... I'd say 1 thing ..eldee is a good man ..a man of prestige and of course he's a good boss.. I know how long it took for setup .. I worked for months and money didn't come in.. it was a story..things I seen ..seeing eldee get angry a lot then ..it was also a learning experience for me as a young ceo who was coming up .. I love eldee ..I'd leave iju every day and go to lekki and after then no salary ..and true Mr synergy capital who's office was in globe motors building first floor was living large ..see can't say much long story man...shout out to eldee ..that man na man...
Bro Teju, I have just tagged your handle on an IG blog's post. It's related to what Bro Eldee said about Toye Akindele. Apparently, your guest was right about the dealings he had with Mr. T. Akindele. He's just been arrested based on some fraud allegations.
I have never met Eldee or have any business dealings with him in the past, but one thing is for sure, he’s a decent human being. He’s a thoroughbred Omoluabi 👍👍👍👍
This was a really important talk to have. As a tech founder, I too noticed the same Patterns with VCs. All some of them do is take advantage of both investors and Founders/businesses. Thank you for talking about it Eldee The Don!
Please Baba Teju, you are such a good listener. I really want someone to interview you deeply. Someone like Steve Harrys or Alibaba the comedian, to sit and interview Teju Babyface.
To be clear! This still happens in the music/entertainment industry where reps , agents and managers who have plugs do this to creative. ALWAYS have expensive audited and vented by ALL PARTIES involved + get a lawyer involved with said ‘helpers ‘
Nine out of 10 venture capital investments typically go bust. It is that single one that exceeds all expectations that covers for these losses. What those guys did is not how venture capital firms operate. Their actions were fraudulent.
watching this video more profound sense of anguish within me, along with a heightened curiosity to listen to the stories of numerous other artists and individuals. These people have endured the exhaustion of years' worth of missed opportunities and the abandonment of projects and empowerment due to the actions of individuals with such dispositions. Having operated behind the scenes myself, I often find myself afflicted by the awareness of working behind the scene and meet some of this celebrities.
Very instructive video. Thanks Eldee for revealing this to Nigerians. There're a lot of 419ers in Nigeria in every guise. Keep up the good work Teju❤🎉🎉🎉
I listened to Teju about 8 or 9 years ago when he spoke on the topic from Zero to Hero organised by Pastor Kunle at Unilag. Bro Teju has been a source of inspiration since then up till now. I love and respect you sir.
I hope one of these days you will have the opportunity to interview Don Jazzy. It would be nice to hear from him his experience with the Venture Capital company that is partnering with him in Mavin Records.
Thanks for sharing but you still don’t get how VC works. You need to get a VC/Investment lawyer. As you go into these deals, you need a VC/Investment lawyer not an “entertainment” lawyer. Plus, V/PE is way better than this. Sorry, you came off with this impression. Sad
Okay but fraud is fraud...the type of lawyer you get shouldn't determine if you get your funds or not. Toye Akindele has defrauded people with massive legal advisers on retainer. Happy that his sins seem to have caught up with him
This ages really well, the said man "Akintoye Akindele" was recently arrested for offering over $200k bribe to Police over some business scam cover-ups.....whew!
I understand there was probable cause for the venture capitals to have diverted funds, but as a leader, ELDEE missed a great opportunity to own the failures his decisions led others to. It wasn’t enough to point fingers, if you’ve grown and matured in business you should know the buck stops with the leader/face of the business/CEO. You missed the opportunity to look in the camera and apologize to your former staff, vendors and associates
Hmmm! Glad that Eldee was able to quickly realize and try to fix things. Unfortunately similar "investor or investment" arrangement also happens in the real estate industry. The funds are made available, there are off takers willing to buy homes but both the investor and potential home owners are fleeced. 😢
Aah but people can be wicked , they'll definitely reap what they sowed . If not them their children and generations after them will. Greed is such a bad thing
And there I was thinking how on earth did that promising record label fail? They had so much potential and eLDee was so influential in the industry. At par with or more than even Do. Jazzy at that point. Bad sh*t happens so fast.
I'm only worried for eldee that he should not get sued for saying this. He's been quiet all these while, and that's good. Even though i believe he isn't lying, getting sued might just be a serious waste of time and money for him.
