Objectively, Type Soul has a bad early-mid game. There's a difference between no handholding, and straight up not giving players any information. Luckily for Type Soul, that glaring flaw is heavily bandaged by the Media and Content Creators, so most type soul players don't really complain about that aspect, even though it is objectively bad game design. Personally, I came to Type Soul because people in Deepwoken were saying "hop on type soul" and when I first went in blind with no media exposure to that game, I legit could not play for an hour straight, cause starting as soul reaper without knowledge is hell, and having a quincy/arrancar grip you (and since you don't have info, you think they're gripping you for no reason) even though you are a freshie, is a horrible and unfun experience (Considering deep players said to hop on, I decided to avoid media exposure cause I thought it would be deepwoken 2.0, with a sense of exploration). I stopped playing until I started seeing Type Soul media, which included Modes, which motivated me to continue playing, until I got my own (and its hella fun). I just recently got my first essence (horizon essence) and it only motivated me to play more. TL;DR My opinion on this game is that objectively, this game's first impression assuming you have no media exposure, is absolutely horrible, but subjectively, when you reach the later stages of the game, it becomes extremely fun.
i hopped in type soul initially and it was so confusing. even joining rogue lineage, deepwoken, arcane lineage, etc off rip i could still figure out how to progress. the guy defending type soul is a lobotomized nerd beefing over roblox 💀💀💀👶🏿
the thing is though, when I started playing type//soul I didn't look shit up. I up played the game. I picked hollow and killed shit then ate it. I don't know why that isn't normal.
I would agree with sagee but the whole point eclispe is trying to make is that the avg Roblox player just literally wouldn’t be able to get into type soul the same way hardcore players are (especially without any outside influence or having decent knowledge about the anime the game is based on)

I keep lookin back on that video and Osy's straight up shooting himself in the foot. Regardless of him not having enough time on the game, he's still right. Sure, you can not like someone being right without having enough knowledge to make what's by all accounts the equivalent of a guess, but that's still not changing he's right. And Let's assume Eclipse did go from First-Impression to Review? What do you think after seeing his initial reaction to the game gonna do? Learn about, highlight, and flame the game for having a bunch of horrible aspects to it. Which, as much as I love the game in spite of so many crappy elements, it DOES.

the thing i dont like with Eclipse's review is that he straights up call the game "bad" because he doesnt like it. that is NOT the same thing at all. he is basically insulting all type soul players just because he did not understand the point of the game, or what you're meant to do. other than that, i think Osykuu reacted like an idiot. if you don't like someone, ignore him and dont make yourself dumb by hating on him.
