I've seen some sketchy passes on no prep and prep it literally is just who has the big balls to stay in it some do but some just wanna save it for another day but seeing him do that swirly 6.97 reminds me that us tx bois in a whole different league lol
They don’t care about funds not in it to make money have to pay to play that’s the name of the game doesn’t matter if you have it’s penny’s at the end of the day
I’m going to nip this in the bud right now before these suspension comments and keyboard warriors get out of hand. I am Chris. I have spent more hours than you could imagine working on this car with Mac and our crew. We make suspension adjustments almost every single pass. It’s not overlooked, it’s not ignored, we don’t just slap some drag coils on and call it a day. The car gets aligned before every track outing. Being awd, having a dual clutch trans, and being somewhat lightweight (for a gtr) it’s pretty difficult to get these things dialed in. Sounds easy on paper but I don’t expect any of you to actually have a clue how long every person that’s ever built a fast gtr has spent trying to get these things to leave the line without trying to kill itself and the driver. We’re working on it.
Excellent job, try not to listen to some people because they have no idea how much time and energy you guys put into this! Your teams built the fastest Gtr within the specifications in that level, these commentators haven't! Most are angry 16 yr olds that play to many video games, or people over 30 who still live in their mothers basements! Keep up the good work and try not to pay attention to the keyboard Warriors, your teams accomplished something that no others have, so obviously you guys know better then others!
I would agree! More travel is great, but it also travels upward after a hard slam making the rear lighter. It seems at launch to 330, the car has to hook up 3 times before the front and back tires are finally synced at the same speed!
Lots of experts in the comments. The R35 GTR is one of the most difficult and expensive platforms to go quick in. Respect to these guys! Any 6 second GTR is an outstanding accomplishment!
...depending on your definition of fast. A 10 second GT-R isn't going to cost you your entire retirement fund and that's plenty fast. A 6 second anything will cost you a small fortune . Some platforms money can't even get you there(I am looking at you lamborghini)
Lots of people who been following racing probably longer than you. Sorry if that's hard to take in. Half a million dollar operation and can't figure out how to get into the 6's... yawn.
CONGRATS!! I feel SO MUCH joy for you right now my stomach is tight and my eyes are tearing up. I know how the STRUGGLE is how it feels to cross that hurdle of ACCOMPLISHMENT...really CONGRATS and keep pushing!
If they focused on getting the damn car settled off the line they would have had a 6 second pass long ago. 15ft off the line it's like a squirrel on cocaine in a pillowcase. It's spinning tires and all over the place from the tree.
GTRs run factory GR6 transmissions eaither AMS or T1 has a video talking about how they have to launch GTRs. They enduce wheelspin to keep the car from bogging then they catch the wheel spin with there traction control system. Way different then a drag car with a proven setup leaving off a converter
I think I'd start with the rear shock stiffness. It bottoms out so fast and so hard, it comes up lifting weight off the tires causing more spin. I agree with ya!
If they could get that car to hook solid it may run 6.5s. Wow! It was so fast and sketchy at the same time. I was like hold on to it brother. Congrats!
When you hear people saying there is no skill needed to drive in a straight line, on a quarter mile, they need to have a look at this! I used to think it was fairly easy, compared to track driving, but when you get to this level you’ve got to have balls and skill to keep it in like this guy.
Nissan made one hell of a platform! I remember when they were announcing the return of the Skyline GTR years before and I thought the new ones would never be as good as the 33 and 34 especially without the RB, never would have thought they would make it even better.
The 32 was great. The 33 is the best car ever made in my book alongside or parallel with the supra. The 34 was taking the perfect outfit and adding cuff links and a fancy tie. The 33 is my vision of perfection, the 34 is great also, but I agree with the op of this post that the 35 is something that we never imagined as far as perfecting what was once perfect.
So much snaking and still getting into 6 second's 🙌🏼. If they can build a viper type suspension which moves like a bullet down the track, they can definitely break the world record.
Dude try getting wider tires it helps with grip and if it’s not AWD then shorten the front tires to the minimum try testing the boost controller to make instant boost
