Are we allowed to buy parking spots now? I was under the impression that it was first come, first serve.

Actually, that car was there before you. You were closer to the people walking to their car, but the other car got to the spot before you. If the spot was empty, the other guy would have easily pulled into it before you would have, so therefore it was his spot.

That's why I park at the very end of the parking lot. I don't like being around ignorant humans. Fighting over a parking space that they don't even own.

I remember an incident with my mum. She was visiting her friend and the flats where she lived had just had two disabled parking spaces added to the car park. Unfortunately they had been added to a part of the carpark allocated to some new private houses and the occupants had taken the huff and fitted two steel bollards to prevent anyone using the spaces. After a heated discussion the police were called and after checking it was confirmed that the spaces were designated disabled spaces the person who erected the posts was asked to remove them. With a smug grin he said he culdent remember where he had left the key. Again after a short conversation with the police I was told that I could remove sed posts. Still with the grin on his face he commented that he would like to see that. This is not something to say to an engineer. I took out a set of bolt cutters and sniped through a couple of expensive padlocks. I don't usually Cary bolt cutters but the day before a friend was having trouble with a padlock on his back gate (to many winters and not enough oil). So I removed the posts and asked if anybody wanted them the person who paid for there fitting did come forward but the policeman in charge pointed out that if they somehow reappeared he would be charged with obstruction at that he lost interest. I had just finished this farce when mum appiered asking where I had got to I told her about goings on and we drove home. After all that I never did get the car I to the space untill the next time we went to her friends. Just incase anyone asks mum had lost a leg and needed a prosthetic to get around it was ok for short trips but she needed a mobility scooter for longer trips. As she was a bit shaky on the artificial keg after about five minutes.

I always park far away. I need the exercise and my pickup is a bit large to fit into tight spots. You could use that lesson here. There are no names on these spots. Move on.

wayneg9998, That Nissan arrived at or about the same time that you did and was closer to the spot in question. When this happens to me I try to give the other party the benefit of the doubt. It is analogous to saying "after you" to someone when you arrive at a door or entrance simultaneously. It is better to have a contest to see who can be the most polite than to have a rudeness contest. If you really detest waiting for parking spots so much, it is best to pick times to visit places when they are not so busy or pick less visited places.

I am an adherent to the "proximity theory of parking lots". The likelihood of damage or drama occurs in an inverse ratio to proximity of the space I use to the front door of the establishment in question. To avoid experiencing both, I try to park as far removed as possible. My 85 year old mother has an excuse to park close habitually, I do not, despite both legs being damaged enough to limp, and a chronic back pain condition. Unless you're in a wheelchair, or a frail old lady, neither do you, princess. Put on some big boy pants, and grow the hell up already

This man isn't petty over a lot, he is mad because people don't have the same courtesy he does. If someone took my parking spot deliberately and laughed about it, getting home would be a hell of a lot harder for them.

What is more likely to have occurred is the other driver, realizing there about to be multiple spots opening within seconds of each other, recognized that it was going to be easier for you to pull into the spot on the left, while he takes the one on the right. So he backed up to wait for the spot on the right.

the car got to the spot following the rules of the parking lot where as you drove against the direction of traffic indicated on the ground specifically to follow the pedestrians to their car. The other car rightfully had that spot, glad another two opened up so no throats or tires were cut this day..

Not only was that car there before you, if you look at your own video there is an arrow pointing in the opposite direction as you make that last turn before you see the space, yes you were going in the wrong direction also , and had no right to any space down that parking isle.

I hate going to a maxed-out restaurant, waiting a long time for a table, service, a drink, my food, and the bill. The Boathouse looks like a typical restaurant with a great view and ambiance, average food at above average prices. Just show up at 8:45 instead of 7:00 like the rest of the crowd, you waltz right in, sit down and eat. I do this all the time. Plenty of easy parking, and no youtube video bitching about someone taking "your" parking space.

What a load of rubbish. The Nissan was stopped closer to the vehicle with the family whilst you were still driving. They then repositioned the vehicle so not blocking traffic. If I was the Nissan driver I would be annoyed if you had tried to pinch "my parking spot"
