at the end, they began capitalizing YOU when talking about "the one who clicks" because "the one who clicks" is actually the player. Words like YOU are usually used in games like this to make it feel personal or like its addressing the player. When he said the one who clicks is behind, he meant its behind the camera of the game.

@@IGPI wrote my senior thesis on short stories and how they help with the creation of horror. Basically, you have to substitute details of your own life to try and answer questions the writer doesn’t share. I wish there were more indie horror games back then, bc this is perfect. You felt a strong connection because it was easier to insert yourself and relate to your in game self. And then that entity addresses your character, saying the one who clicks won’t forget me. And that’s the horror, the moment that thing from outside reality reaches through the story or screen and touches your life. Ooky spooky

The dynamic is preserving the mystery of what happens if continue clicking away. You think he has answers, but all you'll be left with is more questions. That thing, nagging at you in the back of your mind... That's him. Watching you do everything you do, watching you go on, to wonder and question and struggle forth. He doesn't have to do anything, say anything, while you toil away. It doesn't matter to him what you do, but somehow knowing you're being watched changes you. He is in control, and you hate that... That's what keeps you addicted to the game.

The man had a dream and it changed him forever. He tried to replicate the dream but it became twisted. He wasn't clean, the space he was in wasn't a white void, his mask wasn't white. He was controlling and unhinged, while the dream man was relaxed and had a somberness to him. The man said that he and his wife taught their kids to raise each other, maybe in the event both parents wouldn't be able to care for them anymore... You will remember this game forever. You played it. It may not be your ever waking thought but it's always in there deep down. Just like how the dream man was engraved into the masked man's head, the masked man will be engraved into yours.

IMO, the game should continue and the more you click then, the strangest reality get distorted... Maybe your madness could overthrow bit by bit the "entity", as he talks about an exchange in souls etc (even if he thinks he is invulnerable)... infecting him. Should be a good gameplay reason to keep cliking and observing the room, and have all kind of "ha-HA!" moment.

The writing in this game is soooo amazing, wow the game could had ended when he offed himself, but then it became a "how much are you (as in YOU) willing to click a button in a videogame to reach and ending" Maybe the game does have an ending, but people haven't found it because they have not clicked the game 10k times or 100k, or 1M.... how much time are you willing to give from your life to reach that ending of this videogame. and whatever that number is, that is how much TIME this game has robbed from you I also love how the "gameplay" is soo soo simple, that it would technically make it a "bad videogame", but then it turns it into "The character IN the videogame is so turned on by YOU (as a person) and how you click the clicker" he basically has a kink in a whole new level lol

One hundred percent seriously, I had a dream almost exactly like that when i was younger, around my early twenties, with a man who was "STRONG and CLEAN" (he looked like Jon Hamm in mine) in a white chair and an empty room that went on forever, watching me. We had some kind of exchange that I eventually forgot the way that all dreams fade, but the iconic imagery stuck with me and I was slightly obsessed with it for several years for no explicable reason. Talking about it to other people over the years, a few have mentioned something similar which makes me wonder if it is a kind of Jungian archetype, or shared subconscious imagery, because seeing the white room like that was haunting with how exactly it reflected my memory of it. Not that it's that complicated, but, you know... I hadn't thought about The Man In The White Room for years so this is really interesting and a little unnerving. I think I'm gonna do my best to not think about it from here out lol.

Notice how after he offed himself and IGP was alone he turned on the white noise and messed with the clock and wanted a mouse clicker to do the clicking for him. He turned into that guy immediately. And you keep clicking thinking something more will happen. But you just end up ruining your life like he did, waisting your time for a dream. I think that is the point of the game it keeps you looking for more, more lore more changes but there is nothing. Then you become that guy, you get someone else to do the clicking cause you can’t do it anymore. Then you go insane and off yourself.

@IGP93.8 yeah and this motel is probably one of those where before you entered the room you saw someone dragging a body wrapped in a mattress with someone fallowing him with a box of various cleaning supplies and a hacksaw, locked eyes with you before giving a casual nod and entered the room cause they know you won't dare say what you saw to ANYONE.

The young man on the right, Tobias, was sent out by his father on an errand, accompanied on his journey by the disguised angel Raphael. Tobias is attacked by a giant fish (unfortunately not a sky serpent) and after killing it, he takes the entrails with him at Raphael's direction. Upon returning home, he finds his father has gone blind, but is healed by placing the fish's gallbladder on his eyes, again at Raphael's direction. Not sure how exactly this ties in with the narrative here (maybe something about trust?), as I had to stop watching. The constant clicking was giving me a headache and the story wasn't grabbing me enough to power through. Hopefully someone who made it to the end can make sense of it.

Unless I missed it, thank you so much for not complaining about how he should clearly be unable to see the counter. Not everything needs to be realistic, especially a more artistic experience like this. I started to suspect pretty early that he was going to blow his brains out at the end, around 8500 I was pretty certain, and 9700 all but confirmed it. The lack of additional dialogue after 100000 works, but it is subtle enough that I would prefer additional dialogue. The dialogue about souls makes me contemplate how anything can influence a person's choices, regardless of the purpose of the initial thing. The man did not exist for the other man to kill himself, and is in many ways blameless. This game could be that man for somebody. I have pretty bad media literacy though, so who the hell knows.

I don’t know how this reflects on me, but I found the “clean and strong” thing hilarious because it’s very similar to how I talk with my cat. Like, for even the most basic things he does, I will tell him how good he’s doing, and just use short, direct adjectives. For example, if he takes a big breath after running around, I will tell him he is very “loud and good” lol (I want him to know how proud I am of everything he does 🧡)

The day is always just a bit better when you upload, I feel like so many creators are just doing bare-minimum videos nowadays reacting to tiktoks or reddit or just talking unplanned at the camera.
