Cause of death was smoke inhalation. It happens more often than you'd think. This case is obviously different. Just saying it isn't THAT unusual for someone sleeping to not be disturbed. Which is wild.

Well, that depends. In the case of house fires at least, most victims die from smoke inhalation/carbon monoxide poisoning before the flames reach them, and if they're asleep when the fire starts and there isn't a smoke alarm that wakes them up, it is common for them to not even wake up and die in their sleep. But I suppose this case is different because the boys were locked in a small shed that was torched and would have been up in flames fast. So it may be true that the boys were drugged or already dead before the fire. At least that would mean they didn't suffer, but it's still absolutely terrible what that monster did to them. :(

I mean yes but no. I’ve watched videos where people would run up to the door and keep knocking and ringing the doorbell and knocking and that would wake up the person sleeping just to tell them that their house is on fire. So some people don’t wake up when there’s a fire.
