This and the step through on a strike are the absolute best. Adding the sound effects always helps too. Hahaha. But yeah, love this one. Usually hide it behind a check hook or something too.
I’m a wing chun practitioner with some northern shaolin and when I spar I always for some reason go into a Muay Thai stance even though I never trained in it… It’s just naturally balanced
From his sound effects, you can tell he's been around too many Muay Thai gyms with fighters from Thailand in them or he's been to Thailand. Either or, that's exactly how Thailand people sound when their sparring
That’s actually brilliant , I’ve been trying to master a switch kick and I just can’t seem to balance or move my hip enough or kick right , i try to isolate it but it’s still very tough , this helped me immensely bro thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow sick Thai flow. Curios, doesn’t the squared stance make you easier to shoot in on and grab a double leg? I don’t think my wrestling is good enough yet to make that sacrifice
Its called a step through jab. The way you do it is super obvious to anyone watching your legs for kicks, which you are basically begging them to do with all that movement. A jab is blinding.
Successful stance switching is covered via hand play so the opponent won't feel you shifting the weight. So you need the front hand to turn into a rear hand while being extended in a frame.
@@coachkajanThe weight is always on the right leg. When you switch you basically move your center of gravity from front to back and then as you switch it auto-regulates from your feet placement. That's more like a muay thai stance from Street Fighter's Sagat. The Thai fighters have their center of gravity always in the middle even if they get a bit shifty on the lead leg. In your case your center of gravity is leaned onto your rear leg. You're an experienced grappler (as I've seen in your videos). Imagine someone bulldog grabbing that right leg once they get the rear-leg gimmick. Staying on one leg (like in your case here) will be a simple read and next time you switch like that you'll be timed into a strike on your right side (his left side). And you're a man with experience. You know how bad it is to be struck while weight shifting and at the same time being a static target on that side. It's still a good shift for "that one time".
