You are so right, it is the little things that count. I tend to lurk in the background and watch the replays due to my work schedule and the different time zones. But I do totally appreciate all you do and share with all of us. I have ordered fabrics from you, kits and mystery boxes and am always amazed at how much you fit in the box! I’ve been thinking today of suggestions to give you. One would be, like a suggestion I saw from another commenter, to make a $50 mystery box, if that’s possible. Another suggestion would be maybe you could do a cross stitch video occasionally using one of the kits you open from the subscription box. Flosstube is pretty popular right now. It would make a great addition to your FPP videos. One last suggestion, if it’s even feasible, is to sell precut kits for some small beginner FPP projects. Maybe you could cut from your accuquilt. So many older quilters have problems cutting fabric due to arthritis or other fatigues. These suggestions are sent with love. I so enjoy your channel! ❤️

I love seeing discounted pre-orders listed in your shop. I used to pre-order from other shops because I don't know which lines you would be getting. I'd rather give my business to you and it helps to know what you'll be ordering.
I could never even think of running a business like you do. Give yourself a huge thumbs up for even have the guts to try it!! I think your prices are actually very reasonable, and what you have to charge for shipping in the US is fair. Sadly, those of us outside the States are only too aware of the costs to ship here (even though on a clear day I can see Buffalo across the lake!!! LOL). I get that people have been spoiled by free shipping but the personal touches from a small business are the things you can’t get from a bigger business that can buy more (and thus cheaper) and suck up losses on shipping
You are paying for the mystery in a mystery box. If you are afraid of getting something you might not like, don’t buy one. And a FYI, if you don’t “like” a fabric, still use it but make it into small pieces, works. Every. Time. ❤😂🎉

So many things to say. First of all, thank you so very very much for all the love and beautiful words for my sweet baby girl. We love ya and just adore you!!! This made me cry and feel so loved. To everyone who is taking time out of their busy lives to send her a card, thank you so very much. She is definitely surrounded by such love. In regards to your mystery boxes. I am shocked at that comment. You go beyond for so many but at the end of the day, you have bills too. You took such a loss and I’m so sorry you had to experience that. It just really upsets me. Been here awhile. Just wanted to give you some words of encouragement. You’re doing great! You’re very talented! If piecing is your passion, when you do instructional time, have items that you are working on in your shop that you can present during the show……….. Tie the products together. Sell fabric specifically for piecing. Show your piecing patterns, fabric, notions that are specific for piecing…. This day and age with so much competition you need to be unique.
OMG, some people! What is wrong with them? I don't understand why so many people have to complain. Weren't they taught that if you don't have anything nice to say to keep your mouth shut or stop typing! I don't get it, I just don't. I open your newsletter. I enjoy seeing what you have to say. When I purchase fabric online I'm usually searching for a specific fabric which doesn't really help you. I absolutely love the extras you toss in your orders. I definitely feel that you care more about my package than others and I think that's agood thing. Keep your chin up girlie. You've got this. I know you do!
Please do sign me up for your newsletter. Sometimes what might draw me to a business is what they can provide to me. I like patterns for something small like baby quilts or a wall hanging, of course with all of the fabrics included. The excitement of something new is special to me. I got one of your patterns once (I think it was yours) about a murmade that was with the fabrics. I was so excited about it. I cut the fabric pieces out and started sewing. I didn’t put it down until I was finished. I am on a very limited budget since my husband died, and I cannot make purchases like I used to. But I still like the new things to sew. The larger projects are more expensive and I can’t afford them. I am a loyal customer. Businesses do not always think of the little guy. I also think that the shop owner also is the one who draws people in. Their friendliness and good business practices are s shoe-in for their business. Grab bags are always a conversation piece. Make them small so the customer would not mind the add on of a few extra dollars to their order. In the bags you could include patterns for sewing and cross stitching. Along with the patterns you could include ribbons, buttons, accessories, a fat quarter, etc. nothing elaborate but a value for a special theme. I could probably come up with other ideas if needed. So what about merging your shop with your RU-vid content, making 3 or 4 custom bundles, giving a challenge for example make a table runner with my bundle and one other fabric and post your pictures on Facebook. Then you sew a table runner on your Wednesday lives using one of the bundles. And then set up a poll that people can vote for their favorite bundle. And the winner gets a $10 gift certificate to your shop. Or making a small pattern people buy and having them use their own fabrics then doing a Wednesday live quilt parade of people who have sent you pics of their blocks. Sort of like Pat Sloan does for her block wednesdays. I’m sure there are tons of other ideas that tie the two medias together.
I think you are doing great!! Your prices are more than fair and there will always be that person that wants something for nothing, and you should not feel bad because somebody is expecting more for less at your expense. It is not up to you to fund somebody else’s fabric purchase. Speaking for myself I don’t buy mystery boxes because I want to know what I am purchasing. I do love your idea of curated bundles and I don’t think the bundles have to be all the same fabric lines either, other fabric shops do this all the time. Villa Rosa has a ton of great patterns that are very inexpensive, maybe you could pair some of their pattern cards together with curated fabrics from your stash to make kits? Or pull patterns from your stash that you will never make and curate a kit from that pattern? I wish you all the best ❤😊
Please don’t let one person get you down. Most of us think you do a wonderful job with your shop and RU-vid. Just a little idea…maybe during each livestream you could highlight one or two items in your shop so the people that haven’t been to your shop lately or don’t know you have a shop see some items they might be interested in. It sucks that people feel they're entitled and and get pissy when they don't get what THEY BELIEVE THEY DESERVE. Well, they deserve a lot less! I know it's not easy when you feel like you've been served a gut punch. But think about those who support you in numerous ways. I wish I could head to Colorado for a retreat and purchase more. Unfortunately, it's not in the cards until the boyfriend is employed again 😢. That being said, I did have a tiny stash that I was saving for Deja Vu. I'm so excited and can't wait to receive it! Im happy that we can purchase from you and I lurve your enthusiasm and passion.I've been quiet in Piecing it Real, but I thoroughly enjoy being a member; albeit, a non-productive member at the moment. Keep on keeping on sweetie. Running a small business is a lot of work, but can be very rewarding!

You can not under sell yourself. If People complained, is because they didn't care about your business. They were looking for something free. You are going to get selfish people everyday. You have to make sure that you get paid. Do not kid yourself they would raise their prices too if they ran a business. You have to do what is right for you. You have to stop worrying about these people who are rude. I know that is easier than said. Do not sell yourself short. I enjoy your stuff. Do not try to compete with the big companies. You have great products, it just right know some people don't have a lot of cash. But that doesn't mean you lower your prices, to please people. Thats why we the people need to save our money to buy the stuff. I like the newsletter. I like the text reminders. I like your videos. Just hang in there.
I ordered from you recently & was surprised to find a small bag of candy & two sets of mini charm sets that were put in with my order! I mostly buy yardage and charm pack sets online after I’ve seen the fabric. I love your RU-vid videos & have been subscribed for awhile. Maybe you can mention your store more often in your videos. I like to get newsletters even if they are short ones to see what you’ve been up to. Best wishes!
You should not dwell on what you might be doing wrong in your business. It would be better to celebrate what you have achieved and what you love about what you are doing and what you want to accomplish with the business. Love ya! Watch you all the time but sometimes catch you on the rerun.
Yvette don’t let the Negative Nancy’s of the world get you down. A mystery box is just that - a mystery! You are one in A million 💕. I love your packages - you take such loving care in packaging and including extras in each and every order. I feel like I am getting a special present. No one else specializes in cuteness like you. All of it is spectacular the tissue paper, ribbons, stickers, organza bag with treats, and a extra. sew much more than just a plastic bag with the order shoved in. I especially love the mini charms. Idea: maybe a short video how to use your loyalty programs. Attach the video to your shop. 💕😘
Business is like life. You put out one fire, turn around and there’s another. All you need is someone to vent to and someone who can give you advice. Sometimes you need to just stand in the middle of a field and scream. You’ll be just fine. Don’t apologize for your business, you have to do what you have to do. For every insult remember there are so many of us who love you and enjoy you videos.

First of all a mystery box is a mystery box you don’t know what your going to get. You can’t please everyone. I do like deals from time to time I’m not going to lie, I do like curated bundles and maybe a free pattern sometimes but that’s just me. There will always be someone that will try to rain on your parade and to that I say always bring your umbrella ❤
I think I feel guilty using loyalty points because I want you to make a profit! I think you are amazing with the orders you send out. The extras, the treats, the beautiful packaging with such obvious care. I've just had to cut my buying back. ❤️

Don't worry about people getting unhappy about your boxes. You do what is necessary for your life. It's like they we're getting a sale then. They need to get over it. Noone is forcing them to buy them. I would love to buy one of your old school boxes. Thrilled really. I am at my limit financially for this month. But August 1st, if you put some out. I am there baby! Please make me a mystery box, my dear. Please. I will love everything and anything I get in it.
What attracts me to a shop is where I can buy the fabric I'm looking for honestly. If I'm looking for a specific color fabric (sage recently) or Sherri and Chelsea's new line. I look around at all my favorite shops, including yours. I like the loyalty programs and I like the little gifts. I don't get those things from fat quarter or MSQC and I really enjoy those. Love you so much, my dear. And everything you do. I consider you a dear friend and call you a friend when I'm talking to people, like, "my friend Yvette said .....". I open your news letters just because they come from you. I know thats not helpful. Sorry. Lol. Stay you, my friend.
Keep going. I will make a point to look more in your store. Fat quarter shop started in a kitchen cutting fat quarters herself. Im actually interested in a few of your curated fat quater bundles and the preoder is good. A mystery box for $50 will be more in my wheel house but keep doing what you do, be real.
Do what you have to do! A mystery box is a mystery box. No guarantee what you get in them. They know how much fabric costs. All around is a great deal. Those types want everything free and are never happy! ☹️ Try to keep your chin up! You know you care for all your followers! 👍

Yvette, there is no excuse for people’s ignorance! It is easy to be rude on line where you do not show your face! No quilter selling fabric that cheap at that quality.
