Money laundering, not immigration itself, poses a significant threat to Canada’s economic system. When illicit funds are laundered through investments in the country, it distorts economic activities and inflates asset prices, particularly in real estate. This can lead to increased costs of living and reduced affordability for Canadian citizens, making it harder for them to secure their own economic interests and maintain a reasonable standard of living. Essentially, the issue isn’t about immigration in general but rather the impact of illegal financial activities that allow foreign investments to potentially overshadow the economic well-being of citizens. And money laundering-nobody is paying attention or pointing fingers at it because it seems like an idea, a concept that cannot be touched. It’s always just easier to point fingers at what we can visibly see: the racialized, people of different genders and colors, those who speak a different language, and those working in the service industry for minimum wage but pays insane amount of taxes. Yes, it’s their fault, always have been. 🙃
@gregfraser2763
@gregfraser2763 3 месяца назад
Thats your opinion. Money laundering is minor and should not be a red herring. Immigration numbers are too high period. This mass immigration causes investors to buy more homes, thus our housing market has become a game of monopoly with haves and have nots.

@@Jan-fx2nythat just means banks feel protected in giving so much rope. If the mortgagees can make the payments then nobody seems to care that it was obtained fraudulently. It’s only when people or banks lose money, only then do they care about loans that were too large for the borrowers. Anyway what needs to happen is non recourse mortgages with 1000 down and no insurance. Then banks will not supply all this rope $$$

I live in Canada for 56 years and became proud Canadian and never lived anywhere in the world because I love my country I came at the age of 21 , and I hate what Trudeau has done to Canada bringing people just to get the Canadian passport and them go to the place where they were born ,so Canada was a country of convenience were they can come and go , should be a limit of how long you can be away,if you pass the limit then should be a fine or revoked your citizenship as a Canadian and travel with passport of the country of birth stop the abuse

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become a North Korea style dictatorship in the western world. There are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions, welfare, unemployment benefits, disability benefits and the numerous other programs, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia. Multiculturalism destroys the fabric and identity of a country. Socialism bankrupts a country.
@AnAn___

Don't the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Malaysia do multiculturalism better than Canada? Why is this? Why are the Asian economies (and Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Panama, Guyana, Bahamas, Botswana, Seychelles, Mauritius) booming?

Vote bank politics is the main issue. I use to vote liberal but the way Trudeau has ruined Canada in last 10 years is insane. I stopped voting liberal because they don’t have liberal values. Liberal means to respect diversity and not do vote bank politics. He picks terrorist like khalistani and Muslim brotherhood supporters to get votes by supporting such communities. It’s madness. There is no longer safety anymore. Now I have to deal with racists at the store all the time. Last 5 years people started making remarks and picks on me in lines or face racist remarks. 2 people last few months openly heckled me and I argued back and accused one of them being racist and his response was “so what, I m racist”. Another guy was bold and started swearing at me. Didn’t even know the guy. I had my camera which was the reason they went away. Other times in past few years people come up arguing about the most silly things and at first I thought it was miscommunication but now I wonder if it’s racially motivated. I was bullied when I came to Canada in grade 6 to grade 10. I switched school where it was more diverse and I was then more focused on school as there was no bullying. I got into university and landed at a great organization and I love it. My kids grew up here and they feel at home. But recently I been seeing a massive bully type of mindset in people. This is not Canada anymore. I m seeing the same Bullied that I started with when I came long ago from grade 6. It is sad but I still have more faith in people and this country.

No mention of the two young CDN men who murdered innocent Muslims in two separate massacres. It’s all part of the story: young men are in trouble everywhere. And re immig in particular: baby boomers are retiring en masse but these jobs are still there & someone needs to do them. So in come immigrants. Nobody seemed to think this’d put LOTS of pressure on housing. Not here, not in other countries either. And that’s the biggest point: rich Western countries face similar problems. What can we do, how can we work together, learn from each other?

Our values aren't only codified in our laws. As well, norms - not just values - are a foundational part of a society, and many new immigrants are not interested in adopting Canadian norms. Sorry Chris Alexander, but that is a simplistic response.
@User9865-b8u
@User9865-b8u Месяц назад
This debate is one sided and ignores the plight of immigrants in this country. Accusing them of trying to replace Canadian values is only falling for the rhetoric of the far right and the conspiracy theorists, when in reality we all know that religious values dwindle across generations in host countries, after people set up newer identities and modes of living. A question that we need to ask is: what's seriously the proportion of those who identify with conservative religious values among the new immigrants and their children? You will be surprised that this is really not that high. On another note Canada is not helping immigrants settle properly. There are so many immigrants who would like to stay and contribute but cannot stay due to high living costs, barriers to access affordable housing, barriers to learn one of the 2 official languages in Canada, and barriers to have their credentials and work experience accepted in Canada. The glass ceiling exists. It's even harder for women, people of color, people with disabilities and people belonging to the LGBTQ community. So why don't we focus on that and see how we can help the newcomers integrate? Everyone will benefit.

4 minutes 31 seconds in; Chris Alexander appears to be saying that it is illegal to publicly advocate and espouse for the mass slaughter of a specific group of people or the people of a specific country. Chris also appears to be saying that it is illegal to publicly espouse the agenda of a terrorist group. I believe Chris Alexander. What is the citation for this in the Canadian constitution, Canadian law or inherited British common law?

The immigration numbers excluding TFR’s was fine and growing steadily to 1% of the population. It’s not non-permanent residents that created the mess in the country.
