Sudhir is the best..other interviewers (including so called intellects) aslo can learn & improve seeing him..which will enrich every viewers viewing experience..
Boss I have no words to say about this interview very very intellectual and Mr. Kumaraja is a genius and can be great assert for tamil cinema and even a most intelligent Hollywood creator will get zapped with the ideas of Mr.Kumaraja
Just wanted to understand - why does he use only blue and red colors - what is the significance - it feels to dark - I can’t imagine living in a world which has no sunlight or greenery
Its not about whether there is god or not. People should know why our ancestors created a term called god. There are so many psychological reasons behind it.
Ofcourse. If we logically work it out. I can eliminate all art forms from my life. Only music can stick to me even if all my organs fail at some point. Raja’s songs can only fill that area in my memory.
Also, he confirmed that IR is always a misunderstoor person. I've always beleived so. I'm not saying because I'm justifying his "non standard" behaviours because I love his music and inspirational life. I'm saying this because IR behavuor can only be explained by only one thing - his raw honesty and living without constraints of societal expectations. As TK says, IR dislikes wasting time. And probably that's explainable from his work from late 1970's where he has to work with 10's of musicians daily and without a strict discpline it's alsmot impossoble to to live music at that pace AR ( I love him too) but it always appears there are some filters (political, religious, societal) he applies before expressing himself to the world. And that's good in a way for larger societal goal but as a story of artist, doesn't gel with me.
I was happily surprised to see TK's genuine excitement when Sudhir asked his questions. It was quite noticeable that TK got a bit annoyed with the silly questions asked by others during the interviews. Sudhir really stood out with his profound thoughts and insights. Sudhir is definitely the best, and I appreciate how he made TK happy and encouraged him to share more of his valuable ideas.💓
Thyagaraja is very open and comfortable in this interview. Bharadwaj interview la kooda ipdi badhil solala. Idhula neraya open ah pesirkaru. Sudhir is the best ❤
Many of TK’s contemporaries look at him with awe as he is distinctly away from the mediocre, formula driven, commercial and fame oriented lot. He is innovative in creating unique visuals from his experiences and inspirations. When he talks about Raaja’s genius it sounds so genuine and true. To all morons who try to put Raaja’s image down pls watch this and get enlightened.
I admire TK for what he is. On the topic of Ilayaraja, not every director is as sensible as TK is. Ilayaraja is a rude and arrogant person and there's nothing to hide about. Let's not try to justify his shortcomings while we celebrate his masterpieces.
When two people who are honest and sincere to their work converse, such output is bound to happen. In a platform filled with click bait, where template, half-baked-mediocrity and populism thrives, this is such a refresher.. Such an insightful, in depth and eloquent discussion. Sudhir was so un-intrusive, infact very subtle in probing mind space of TK. And TK's perspectives, the clarity and conviction in the way he approaches things.. Just amazing. Its not about whether you agree or disagree to it.. Its about how he articulates his conviction, belief and point of view..
I think this the only interview were i lol, emphasize, think, got tears and bushing while the GOAT 🐐 explaining deep things with very nuanced examples... 💀 This is so far the best interview i ever seen.. ❤️with 3 movies and this interview, I'm gonna repeat till he makes the next one 🔥
28.00 to 35.00mint(tk point of view about illayaraja❤) matha episode vida tk epsiode ku matum en ivlo verithanama music panirukaru ndra reason ❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏 must watch it this timeline ❤
in future if you add relevant images when guest giving any examples it will be even more understandable because during the conversation i couldn't able to understand certain terms. You have done that but you left few things. And great interview some how you made him to talk about his works to some extent that is amazing
Sudhir brings out the best of TK with his sensible interview. Best conversation as always. ❤ Like his movies, TK's conversation also brings out multiple facets and layers. Such pleasure.
I regularly watch Rangan's interview, but started watching Sudhir's as well. Sudhir always tries to ask not the same questions (which were already answered in the previous interviews). Of Course Rangan asks nuanced questions about how the Cinema was conceived, some sound like a student who wanted to use the opportunity and learn. The key difference I find is for a difficult question till the time he gets an answer, Rangan keep asking questions on top of that. When it comes to Sudhir let's say he asks a difficult question and didn't get the answer in the first go. Instead of asking more questions on top of that, he tries to follow and express the thought process of the other one (for the lack of a better word can say empathetic) and say a few words on that line. He is so good in that to such extent that the Artist himself would be happy to go in depths.. :)
He's an ethiest but he said 'raama' at the very end when the interviewer said ' on that philosophical note'. Just an irony like many scenes in his film!!!
Overall I have noticed Sudhir speaking a lot over TK, which in a way shows admiration / adulation he has for TK’s work n his yearning to make best use of FaceTime he got with TK. Nevertheless, TK seems to me a simple guy with a clear perspective towards love / life (as everything else is supplementary), which gets reflected in his renditions. Knowledge is like a ocean (divergence) and Movie is a small hole (Convergence) thru which u’ll try showing your reflections of thots, concepts, learnings etc. it’s a not a easy task; so many of us end up admiring folks like TK, Vetri and so on rather than becoming one🙃 as convergence is herculean and making it resonate with million of ppl out there is next level
Funny TK moment: Man agrees and says everyone is an atheist and that god as a concept was nothing but a human-made ploy to rob thousands of man hours and humanity's peace of mind, but when the host ends the video - Our man says "Hayyo! Rama." No one can fully crack this genius mind.
At last Tk says,"hyoo ramaa" ha haa When atheist said that (including me) it was came subconsciously from ourselves. Why I mentioned that: This is the prime example how we are all affected by our society believes and forget what we are actually believe. Being unique is a basic humanity.
Thank you, Sudhir for making this episode. Lots of thug life moments, super cool TK. @Sudhir, Please avoid horizontal split screen. Kinda of breaks visual harmony.
Much like TK’s explanation of how he extracted the best from Ilayaraja with his detailed explanation of what he wanted from the collaboration, Sudhir was able to extract the best from TK! A job well done!
The interview is quite cool…and the director lucidly talks of experiential elements which has inspired his filmmaking… However what remains at large is the director’s adaptation of ‘Fargo season 1’ (Myskin episode) and relative semblance to most of Almodovar s works and needless to say Alejandro Gonzales Innaritu… Super deluxe safely put is a mocktail of all of the above 3 …
Seems TK believes in enjoying living the “current time and space”. Not giving energy to the future and experience it when it comes. He seem to joy nostalgia more, can see his joy for iliyaraja His thoughts about, enjoying the delicious itli is more important at the moment than thinking whether want to bring friends there to eat. As Tk said story telling defines moments so as a director one need to spend effort in showing in moments. I believe this in my own work in writing. To be a writer or director you need to love moments that is the sincere or infant feeling that rarely gets told.
Carl Sagan on religion and god “We must not believe because we want it to be true” If one knows who Carl Sagan is then you know what #Superdeluxe is about .
This interview was suggested to me by RU-vid after I watched TK’s interview with BR and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by it. It was a very enjoyable conversation.
damn happy with this interview man!, i never seen TK answering happily in any of the interviews i've watched. Instantly became fan of Sudhir too, as his questions were damn amazing and also he asked similar questions i had in my mind, i've got answers from TK i can sleep happily now. Thank You so so much Sudhir and Cinema Express for such a wonderful interview.
51:45 @sudhir, you perfectly read my mind. Your Emotional intelligence is great.. Ninaivo oru paravai: Dialogue are top notch. Musical depth and sound quality are too too high standard.
I'm here after watching the episode ninaivo oru paravai... It was very thought provoking...made me think and led me watching this interview. Really loved how dialogues were put.. and also the visuals. It was a treat... You should make it more often . ❤
This interview was such a pleasant surprise. RU-vid recommended this video after I’d watched another interview of his. TK comes across as a genuinely down to earth person who’s living his life on his own terms. And he seems to truly embody the live-and-let-live philosophy. Kudos to Sudhir Srinivasan for making this conversation such a pleasure to watch.
