This blows my mind how I used to bump this when it first dropped. Not paying attention to the artist name. It randomly popped up in my head right now... I search for the song and....I had no idea it was Robin Thicke smh
sux2bu2day he said back then that he wouldn't cut his hair until he finally made it. That's why it was so long when he made this video. The short style that people are used to was the way he always wore it before this period of his career and he returned to it once he reached his goal.
That's what happens when mainstream media and society take over your soul and turn you into 1 of them instead of leaving you alone to be your own unique person
This song takes me back to getting ready for high school and watching MTV/VH1 in the morning for music videos. To think that Lost Without You would be the next hit (that I remember) to come out by him is mind blowing because I didn’t put the two together for years. Genius transition from Pop/Soul to RnB/Pop. Def one of my favorite songs and artists.
This song LITERALLY popped into my head today. Took me an hour to find it as I was 6 when it came out and obviously heard it a few times during the years after. Good vibes!!!!!!
The radio channel I usually listen to had a crossover with a classic channel from the same company and Beethoven's fifth came on and it got me thinking of this song again. Drove me nuts all day at work that I couldn't find anything but the original piece from Walter Murphy. Then, just when I was about to sleep, some random lyrics popped in my head and now I finally have some inner peace 😂
Dude I always loved this song. Never knew who this guy was. And thought he died out. After seeing the sprite commercial. Little did I know it was ROBIN THICKE. His album was called thicke. Mind was blown. This whole time i didn't know
The same, but the music video and his image gave me an immediate major "one hit wonder" vibe. Sorry to say it, but image and attitude is vey important in the industry. I was surprised when he released his second LP, but then I knew he was going to be big, cause his image had changed and he had signed to Star Trek/Pharrell.
Dammit I just listened to this song 8 times and still haven't gotten enough of it. Oh well I just keep replaying it then. Thanks Robin Thicke - Your music is energizingly awesome!!
@@markyancey3086 Actually he was signed to Motown through Harrell Entertainment....he was the first act that Andre signed when he left Uptown to run Motown in the early 2000's!
Omg, so I have been living under a rock all these years and never made the connection that this song was by Robin Thicke! This came out towards the end of my high school days, I remember the clip, really enjoyed the song but yeah...hahaha wow, mind blown 🤯🤯🤯 Massive image reinvention!
4 years I could never remember who did this song or the name of it. Imagine my surprise when stumbling through robin thick's songs and I see this video. Its a gem.
This song has been an ear worm of mine for over 20 years. I saw the video back in the day but could never remember the song name or the singer. I’ve obsessed over trying to rediscover it. Today, I finally found it again and was shocked when I found out this was ROBIN THICKE the whole time WTF 🤯
Seeing wanker written here in the comments cracked me up! UK and Australia, we know how to insult 😂 Agreed though, he did indeed turn into a right tool. Shame as this song is still utterly superb.
Well artists have to change their sound overtime. Asking them not to is like asking them not to evolve or grow creatively. This song came out in 2003, you don’t want him to develop his character in 19 years?… I hate how ignorant you non-creative mfs are smh.
Yes ! I remember reading about you in VIBE magazine when you first came out as a singer and it took forever for this album to hit the shelves . I remember that the original title of the album was gonna be Cherry Blue Skies ! God, i need a life.
This song is still a BOP for me. I remember I used to try to put people on to this song & Robin but they were not feeling me😅 But look at Robin now lol
I remember when this came out and i first heard it on 106 and park. It made the top 10 and i couldnt wait to get home from school to see if he made number 1. Love this song.
The release of Thicke was mind altering. I still remember hearing it for the first time and saying with deep curiosity, “WHO the fuck is THAT?!?” Robin’s falsetto is flawless & his bass notes make me all tingly inside. Not many artists have that effect on me. Just one of a kind! ❤
Man i forgot ALL about this song! I was in 10th grade when this came out. I remember really liking it. Back then i had no idea who Robin Thicke even was. It wasn't until he blew up with "Lost Without You" years later that i knew his name, i remember looking back at this song and being shocked it was the same guy because he looked so different, lol.
Here comes strong. Its a very strong sounstage looking in New York real hard tall with the mainstream of all that is. The traffick is so cooperative and rhythmic with his song. Smiles. Love his belt, his hair, his dance moves in the office. Surprising in the setting and dress style He's in. Nice job!.
People are saying welcome back and what happened, and do not even realize this was Robin Thicke back in 2003. 😂😂😂😂 Please know what you are commenting on before you comment, lol!
But the thumbnail says "3 weeks ago" and it says it was published on July 16, 2018! We all can't verify the dates of EVERY RU-vid video that we see on the intro page! We're not all diehard Robin Thicke fans!...
WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO DO THAT HEATHER! We only have like a split second to read through every thumbnail that comes up on the RU-vid homepage! I only have time to go by what I see on the thumbnail info! I don't have time to look at the information of EVERY video that pops on RU-vid, OK?...
I always liked Paula and learned she was also a songwriter. When those sleazy embarrassing pics came out about Robin, I lost respect for him and felt sorry for Paula having to live through it Ugh. She was right to divorce him.
