Fun fact: must flux wire is rated for single pass only. You can do more than one and stack 'em, especially for practice, but the weld won't be as strong. You can find wire rated for multiple passes - Lincoln makes some - but of course it is more expensive. Always check the label.

Exactly. Anything with a GS is single pass. Anything with an II (eleven) is multipass. I use Hobart, that’s good too. I find that if you prepare everything correctly, and weld properly, 1/4” will pass a cut test and a bend test using multi pass (three passes). I think I saw a creak on what would his right side of the 1/2” weld.

A BIG BLACK EYE FOR HARBOR FREIGHT I have a Harbor freight TITANIUM FLUX 125 WELDER purchased from Harbor Freight a couple years ago. I am a retired plumbing contractor and backyard hobbyist. I love to build things in my spare time and help friends and neighbors that need something repaired. When I retired and closed my business, I had a stick welding machine but had no convenient place to connect it at my home! It would require an upgrade to my electrical service not worth the trouble and expense! When I saw a couple reviews on RU-vid for this Titanium 125 welder, I thought that would be the way to go. I already had a 110 Volt 30 Amp circuit to my workshop! It took me a while to get adjusted to the flux wire welding. I built a minibike from scrap pipe I had left over from the plumbing shop. The welder allowed me to make other things and make repairs for others I wouldn’t be able to do without it. In the middle of my last project, I cut a couple pieces of metal and got ready to weld them and when I pushed the button on the welder, nothing happened! It was dead! The fan did not come on but the light on the ON/OFF indicated there was power to the welder. I checked the manual for a reset button or a fuse and found no mention of either. So, I called the Harbor Freight 800 number and was told there was no repair for this welder. Harbor Freight has no repair facility, and no support is available. I was told by two different tech reps there is no schematics or parts list available from the factory where this is manufactured. “It is not worth getting it repaired and cheaper to go purchase a new one!” If you purchase this welder or many other things from Harbor Freight You only have 3 Months Warranty. It is considered disposable after that! All the reviews and discussion I have read about HARBOR FREIGHT I have never seen anything about their total lack of support for their products! I didn’t even get an “I’m sorry” or any offer for a discount on a new welding machine! I am retired, was an electronics technician in the Navy, active Ham Radio operator and electronics hobbyist. I feel like the electronics in this welding machine is straight forward non computer controlled and any decent electronics tech should be able to repair this given reasonable support. I removed the circuit board from the welder and found where a small component burned of course not knowing the component value or purpose will make it difficult to replace. Providing a schematic and parts list is a very inexpensive form of support that should be a minimum requirement. Their claim to revenue of 7 Billion Dollars tells me they could afford it! Leland Cox

I worked for a charter jet airline as a mechanic (not on anything that flew!) for the ground support equipment shop. We bought a Chicago 125 for quick welds that didn't need to be pretty, to regulation, or be under any stress, and it worked very well for that. Basically, that machine taught me how to weld, as I'd never had any instruction before. The boss was impressed enough to buy us a big Miller unit, but we used the Harbor Freight machine twice as often! I bought the Titanium 125 for my house, and continued my welding "education". Still a long way from "pro" status, but none of my welds have failed. I love your tips, and your project videos, as they really make sense the way you present them. I used your video of making the welding table, as a guide to repair a neighbors railing for her stairs. It came out very well! Thanks!

Bought a Titanium 125 a couple weeks ago on sale, finally got the opportunity to try it out today. First time welding anything. Bought some 1" x 1/8" flat and cut into 3" lengths. Welded 90 deg angles then welded those into a square tube and finally welded a tab to outside of tube, all good practice. Welds started to look almost decent by the end! Going to buy some tip gel and anti-spatter spray soon. Thanks for the videos, I have learned a lot.

Thanks for taking the time to do these videos, great job. I am retired and trying to complete some projects around the house and with my Side by Side. Years ago, actually fifty two years ago I worked for a while as a welder building water tanks out of 12ga. steel running a stick welder at 275 amps. you didn't want to slow down. It was piece work you got $35 for a 750 gal. tank if none of your beads leaked. Haven't really done much welding since then, and as I am sure you know it's an art and if you don't keep your hand in it, well lets just say I have forgot more than I knew. What I am saying in a roundabout way is thanks, your tutelage is appreciated, keep up the good work.

I have learned so much from your videos, you explain things thoroughly and I mustered up the courage to start welding last year, the titanium welder is great, it's super reliable and well priced. PS- I'd love a new helmet!

Love the video. I used my Titanium 125 to fix a spare tire holder for my friend. I also recently used it to fix a broken piece on my landscape rake. I did a RU-vid video on that repair.

I love my Titanium 125, so small and convenient to grab and go. I haven't ran into any small projects I needed to get welded that it didn't to a perfectly adequate job on. Great quick test on various materials!

Great video! Emphasizing clean weld surfaces and chamfered edges is the key for successful welding with these buzz boxes. For best results have the welder on a circuit with nothing else running on it (which I know is easier said than done).

Perfect timing. This week during their parking lot sale it's on for $169. It's the cheapest it will ever be. If you picked it up for more you can take in the recite and get refunded the difference. Stay tuned!

@@-DIYPRO- I was going get it at $175 but saw it was going to drop anyway, and will if you shop at HF you save the $5 if you can. My local HF is low on them so that should cover shipping.
