Trypticon rules!!! He's my favorite Decepticon titan in the G1 cartoon's third season, transforms into a Decepticon city mode, a battle station mode and a reptilian mode. Unlike Metroplex, he is the only titan capable of space flight as seen in the episodes "Ghost In The Machine" and "Call Of The Primitives". In the original G1 toy, it includes Brunt and Full-Tilt. Brunt is a multi component which transform into a tank drone and building components can be attached for his city/battle station modes. Full-Tilt transform into a robot and a futuristic style car mode, in car mode, it can be attached to Trypticon's reptilian mode chest and can also be launched down the ramp in city mode. It's battery powered it can walk by itself, workable lights, radars and weapons on all reptilian/city/battle station mode functions.

The US is the highest producer of barrels of crude oil today, at about 14 million per day. That means that Trypticon was probably tanking between 1/3 to 1/2 of whatever this African oil rich state was producing, if they were an absolutely massive producer.

The Autobot and Decepticon transition screen had a longer stretch to it than most of the other episodes. The only other one I remember that had this was "Only Human."

So this is the episode that led up to Octane defecting from the Decepticons. Still, it's pretty nice the Aerialbots get plenty of screentime. Strange the Protectobots still don't get much mention.

They couldn't get Trypticon's size right. They keep showing him as about the size of Omega supreme.

I used to have an old toy catalog from the 80s that showed Octane along side Blitz Wing and Astro Train. So the toys were released at the same time but Octane doesn’t appear until season 3. I still have the Octane toy and was glad he finally appeared on the show.

Thief In The Night is not one of my favourite Transformers episodes from season 3 and not of the show's standouts but i thought it was a great introduction for Octane and a cool set up for Starscream's Ghost where he was exiled from the Decepticons after trying to take control of Trypticon which he referred to during a conversation with Sandstorm. I loved the little nice bit of continuity from season 2 where they mentioned Dinobot Island

Did he say it takes 1000 barrels of Oil to makes just 1 small Energon cube! that is not economic at all. But the next question is , now long can 1 Energon cube sustain a single Transformer? Cuz 1 Barrel has 42 gallons of Oil. & 1 Uranium fuel pellet gives energy equal to 149 gallons of oil. If 1 Energon Cube = 1000 barrels meaning 42000 gallons of Oil, that means 283 Nuclear fuel pellets to power 1 Energon Cube, which is Crazy hell of ALOT!. Bit of an unrealistic exaggeration from the writers lol. Given that Trypticon drinks 50 cubes an hour!.
