Give one more "re" than in the previous editions. A good lamer can make their opponent waste it and not have it when the map generation is bad, but the "re" keeps luck/RNG in check. 1-hit laming carries much less risk.

Totally agree. More other, I think one hit for biar agro is fine. You need MBL level skill to still one effectively (not to mention 2, even master need his luck to get them so close together. Speaking about - may be some map generation optimisation). Also as T90 says it is making game interesting, because theft victim need to adapt!

Laming in general must be forbidden. It destroys the fairness of the fights.

spd7693 have you ever tried to lame a boar? It is extremely difficult to do, while getting an economy and all things u must do in Dark Age. And i imagine u saw this game where Lierrey even with 2 boars stolen, still won the game. It is just part of the Aoe2 gameplay. If that is your point, then don’t allow rushes or towers and just make it a game of one big fight at the end “to be fair”

@@lucasgiordano604 It depends on who sets the tournament up, some people do not allow laming but it seems to me that it is more often allowed than not.

It was not allowed on any DE tournaments becuse of 1 hit aggro. If it was 2 hit there wouldnt be any problems.

@@crazyyoco That's the reason why T90 was asking but even before when it was two hits, there were some people who preferred setting the rules to no laming.

It's funny dynamics with the boars. It have no significance on lowest level, increased value with the skill growth and somehow negated on the highest level.

it is a random mechanic, not skill based, making it shitty, giving your opponent entire initiative, better eco as well, and your only hope being the opponent messes up

Thanks for bringing this issue up. This would be my argument for not allowing laming. Until this issue is fixed the host would always having laming advantage.

Thats why people dont like it. If he stole only 1 boar the damage to scout would be very small, probably only 1 hit. If you compare it to needind to hit boar 2 times, like before DE, the damage is higher and so its more like high risk high reward, now its just low risk high reward.

Not really. Very slow, require micro, and counter knights only. Good for defense: protecting economy or a siege push. Use knights' mobility to avoid and add own monks or spam LC at them.

it is a random distribution making it purely luck based, so nothing you can really anticipate, no real skill required, minimal micro you get used to if you play multiplayer.

No, laming now does NOT have any consequences in DE. You can ideally lame 2 boars with no HP loss because you only need to hit the boar once to aggro. In Wololo Kingdom, you need 2 hits to do the same, so it's significantly riskier for the lamer. And even then, laming was ... well ... lame, because that does not allow the opponent to showcase the full potential.

I'd say limit to 1 lame

@@sleepyalchemist7783 but is an strategy of the game. Are ways to counteract it this game is a good example. The full potential claim is foolish in my opinion because if that is the case strategies like tower rush or persian dutch had to be banned as well and then it becomes like an arena fast castle 100%.

@@davidgatell9430 Give me 1 civ other than Aztecs and Mayans that is capable of coming back after losing 2 boars on Arabia. Laming has been part of competitive scene for a long time, but back then, when you needed 2 hits to aggro a boar, it was at least risky to even lame 1 boar, because you would lose around 10-20 HP. This means the lamer would lose to a direct scout fight, so at least there's tiny compensation for the lamed player. Now in DE, the devs changed this to 1-hit-aggro to allow new players to easily lure boar, but they completely forgot about laming in higher level. Regarding Tower Rush and Persian Douche, both can be actually countered with proper scouting. Take Persian Douche for example, all you really need to do, is scout the opponent, make plenty of houses and palisade walls around your TC, and you should be safe. Even if enemy's TC does go up, just ignore it, and go for counter-attack. Trush is a little more difficult to counter, but it has been balanced for years and is now more or less, not too bad to defend against (except for Incas Trush, that is nasty).
