Difficulty settings?? I ask it because "Thief" offer a big variety of difficulty settings, including handicaps (no kills or knockouts allowed on civilians, etc.).
@AL-nv4gk Gameplay wise, new thief is way easier and less complicated. It's like comparing Elden Ring to RDR2 in difficulty. I personally like new thief less because it's less of a challenge.
Unrelated to Thief, but you taught me how to play Dishonored in a really cool way and opened up how I thought of the mechanics through your videos. Thank you⚡
Got this one for free from Epic Store. Gave kinda Dishonored vibes with the environment and was wondering if Stealth will play this game and here you are man 😄❤.
dishonured was inspired by the original thief games. Dishonoured 2 has the original Thief voice actor, while this game had a replacement. This game is also awful imo
@@Lakitu_89 The old Thief games were amazing and very freeing in terms of gameplay, and the stories were great also. While this one feels incredibly linear, the story and voice acting is terrible, and in general I felt it was very clunky.
@@antalzelenka4704 you say things like this only because you already played previous games. Almost everyone who played it blindly agrees that it was a good game.
I remember watching videos back when the game first released when I was younger. Took me a long while before I was able to get my hands on it and god I played the hell out of it. Still remains one of my favourite Stealth games of all time and having done everything I could in that game. Love seeing you revisit the game 10 years later :)
I'm so glad you started playing this. When I jumped into this game last year, I couldn't help but think how you, stealthgamer, could do some really cool stuff with this game's level design and gameplay.
Despite all the disappointment a lot of people had when this game first came out, I still think 10 years later it has some of the best gameplay ever. The stealth mechanics are top notch, difficulty is a perfect balance, and levels offer a lot of creative freedom. Still a shame this game never got the love it deserved. I'd do anything for them to make another reboot/sequel.
If you never played the original, you should. This is an AAA'ed version of Thief with all the stupid decisions that implies. Play one that did so much better.
Thief: The Dark Project was my very first stealth game and the one that got me into the genre. It was nice seeing you cover this series in your channel.
A few weeks ago, this game was free on Epic Games, and now that you have created content, with amazing gameplay, I feel like playing this even more excitedly. 🔥
Mr. Stealth Himself, your videos never cease to amaze me, whether they involve games I’ve played 100 times or ones I’ve never even touched such as this one. You are truly untouchable. In my opinion, your Dishonored 1 and 2 videos most greatly showcase your creativity, persistence, and overall skill. You may often wonder, “Are these videos showing me just doing something I enjoy actually important? Do they actually make a difference. Yes and yes. Not only do they provide an entertaining break from work, but they also help players of all skill levels approach and play games differently, whether you have made a video about them or not. I genuinely appreciate all the time and effort you put into your channel and enjoy every video you have ever posted. Keep up the good work! Peace and love!🙏
Wow, this is just beautiful. Perfectly planned out and executed route, great takedowns, immersive gameplay and creative sequences. I think you should try playing games with a controller. It allows for the smoothest and most subtle character movement and camera motion. And if you want your videos to be even more immersive, try Frans Bouma's shader toggler. It lets you disable the remaining HUD elements that you can't toggle off normally :)
Thief reboot? We must be getting desperate for new stealth games ;_; Awesome gameplay, this is the kind of thing they have to use code to setup for trailer footage and you're doing it raw lol
Thief (2014) got a bad rap, but feels like it's been getting some kudos of late. I actually really enjoyed it when it wasn't trying to be a dumb overly cinematic adventure. Feels like the devs were torn between making it more mainstream and old-school, but this video shows how well it works as a pure stealth game. It also had tons of difficulty/option sliders (a bit like DIshonored) that you could tweak to bring it more in line with the classic Thief experience.
Because it doesn't live up to their expectations of the older games. These people are unable to look past biases and see the property as a separate game, but I enjoy it very much! No other AAA game has as superb of an atmosphere and city design as this game🙀
Thief 2014 just feels like a really generic game, especially when compared to the first three thief games. 2014's gameplay is just a soulless "follow the waypoint" type of deal, whereas the old thief games were much more immersive and did a great job tying story and gameplay together, and the level design was much less linear ("the sword" from thief 1 is a good example of these things).
