I love vintage perfumes like u..I think each vintage perfumes have their own character..they r bold and beautiful and not generic like today's most of the perfumes..I have a bottle of Bogart furyo ..it's awesome...love to watch u❤️
I can put Thierry Wasser as my favorite perfumer, in my decent collection i guess he is the only perfumer i have many of his creations. Delphine's creations are also growing on me, she did an outstanding job with Habit rouge privé and habit rouge parfum , along with Shalimar millesime tonka with of course Wasser :D
I've watched this several times now, the details and info you impart are second to none. You've become the benchmark imo, those subs are steadily rising. I still am bewildered at the views over like ratio, it just takes a tap! Thanks for this Ramsey, never tire of seeing the bottles and you have the knack of resetting my sights of a gem that has slipped my mind. I almost forgot.....I was so tempted to ask Liz to ask you.... What's wrong with my sample sprays?🤣
😂😂😂 Thank you Simon... much obliged man. The support I get from people like you is everything to me. Thanks for always commenting & supporting me from the start🙏🏻 I just hate those little sample sprayers that dont have a cap...i just dont think the niche brands that charges 100s of dollars a bottle should use the cheapest sample sprayers around 🤷♂️ Look at Amouage samples and then look at the ones a brand like Meleg uses or even those Papillon ones are the same ... heck even Roja uses them 🤦 On a side note the fact is that little issue (and maybe its just a personal issue) is the ONLY weakeness from the brand of Papillon is stunning. There is no weakness the juice itself which is what most true fume heads look for.. so bravo to Liz Moores for creating such amazing compositions and the fact she did it all on her own and is self taught is even more amazing 💪💪
Wasser easily in my top 10 perfumers of all time. Remember when Jeremy Fragrance interviewed him on his channel? When he described how he journals his ideas and locks them up? I used to do something similar when I was younger so that kind of struck me as something we had in common. But it's the blending that I probably resonate with most. Recently scooped up a decant of one of his that was relegated to the mists of time - Homme L'eau. The precursor to L'eau Boisee, and I prefer it by a hair due to a subtle floral component that I always thought L'eau Boisee lacked. And out of all the "modernized" perfumes currently out there, I have to say that I'm probably the least mad at the L'homme Ideal line. 😄 It's actually quite cool what he did with benzaldehyde.
Hello Ramsey, Your content is excellent! I am trying to view old videos you have made while catching your new content. I don't have enough time in a day, but will make my way through when I can. Guerlain is top of the designer fragrance houses in my opinion. I think it is unfortunate the power of the original formulas has diminished, but considering the regulatory obstacles they are dealing with, I am glad they are still trying to keep classics alive. The price increases are a little 😫. Were I to choose an affordable freshie it is still a go to brand. Wasser is all class and I am glad he is there in some capacity to mentor even if he is handing over the primary role to Jelk. I don't like any of the fruity newer releases, preferring some of the Arts and Materials fragrances and the Aqua Allegoria line. Thank you for filling in the history (I love the history!). - Jenn
Thanks Jenn... you can always watch the video on 1.5 Times Speed.... speed things up a bit... I agree with you on Guerlain... it is probably my favorite house 😊
lol those old guerlains really did change my life as you say here, never looked back. literal jaw droppers, especially heritage. theres basically vintage guerlain and then theres everything else haha.
Those older bottles are stunning. I wish they would kept the artistry in the packaging. Some of the new packaging is not my favourite, but if it helps keep the cost of the juice down I can live with it. - Jenn
OMG! My furyo of all these years gotta 85 % vol! Your channel reminds me to dig out old stuffs... comes with a tiny sample tube of shaving balm in the box. It's kinda pissy cold weather fragrance that ,still good . The balm after decades...Eeeew. I would like try the new version , probably more wearable and versatile. Looove that keep sake Andy Warhol's art bottle. It's a steal.!☝️💚
Oh my goodness I have an old vintage lips Dali perfume. Its from the 90’s. I don’t even remember where i got it from. Its a small bottle. I never even sprayed it. I kept it coz of the lips…lol
Great fragrances….i remember rocking Salvador Dali pH back in the days…98’ or something,it’s really hard to remember, but have no clue what does it smell like??And lately i said i have to revisit it…i have to buy it,definitely. Also,i’m a big fan of guerlains les absolutes des orient….tried them almost all.I find cuir intense a little bit challenging for untrained nose.Santal royal is fantastic and love the beast mode performances of all.Very nice review as always! No mediocre/bleu/sauvage type on the list thanks God:)
Greetings my friend:-) I think you left something out which imo should be mentioned in this context (santal royal, bois mysterieux): Encense mystique, which should also contain ambergris :-) Is it true that all the fragrances in this line contain the same ingredients (but of course in different concentrations)?
Honestly that I dont know.. I dont think so... I think its one of the reasons ambre eternel got the axe because of the high ambergris concentration... but not 100% sure 🤷♂️
one of wasser's most famous perfumes that you did not cover is dior addict that he created in 2002 before he was chosen as guerlain's in house perfumer.
Yes thats right! I only covered the bottles in my collection... I know of Dior Addict from 2002 ... but unfortunately I dont own it & have never had a chance to smell it ... hopefully one day 🍻
Great guerlain run through, kinda bummed I missed out on the lui 50 ml offering I saw it on sites but for some reason dismissed it , who’s sorry now lol ,gotta put my hand 🖐 up I guess . Anyways hey ho ,moving on haha however I didn’t bite on that new Habit Rouge flanker, and by the sounds of it ,and the roasting the Wafts from the loft boys gave it in their recent review ,I’m feeling better about Lui ,aw not really, let it go Bren ,let it go even the leather box ,yeah that too ,just move on now son hahaha .have a great day cheers Rams 👍🙏✌️
You can still find bottles roaming around for decent prices... try and at least sniff it, get a sample of Lui ... you might love it... but ya what a Roasting of Habit Rouge L'Instinct the Wafts guys gave to Delphine Jelk... man she might want to hop into the underworld for a second just to cool off 🔥 whoooo
@@RamseytheRam hahaha, I got no sympathy it would seem this release is an affront to all the guerlain purists across the great fragrance divide ,she oughta know better I reckon 👍🙏✌️
I think theses brands fails to recognise their "gold standard bottles design". They really should look into their archives. I would buy Bleu and Allure if they're in Antaeus bottles. That new Guerlain square bottles lacks efforts ... Eros cheap.🧐😆☝️💚💚💚
Yes you are spot on ... the $ they save by using the generic one size fit all bottles isnt worth the savings to me... especially if they already have the mold of these bottles made 🤷♂️🤦
@@BobbyDior Hah ha! one of my ex's name! Infuriatingly here in UK there's a tendency to shorten names like Rich for the Duck. 😂 So she was was shortened to Elle, I and her French friends remained with Delphine. There's another that rolls off the tongue beautifully too, Elodie as Delphine's sister was named. Fact of the day...my 'handle' comes from a term directed at me from said Delphine, there were quite a few others as well!! 😂
