Dude i set in a blind for 4 hours I didn’t even see a squirrel I get out right at dark I turn around and there’s a doe looking at me by the time I got my bow up too late she blew and flagged and I was po
Had this last year decided to cut the day short ropes my bow down to the ground and was just about to start climbing down when boom a doe walks out I proceeded to sit there for 15-20 minutes while she just walked around under me. Never again will I pack it in early lol!
Shot me a buck this past December, coming down the tree stand. I was sitting for about 4-5 hours, had to get down, i got a bad leg. So i lowered my bolt action rifle on a string and then started coming down real slow like, and seen a flicker of motion to my left, i look and theres a 6 point walking through the bushes and such. I am halfway down the ladder, i grab the rope (didnt untie the gun) get the rifle and chamber a round (i always keep the gun unloaded on the string). All within seconds, i think the deer heard something (likely me) he slightly changed direction, and i had like a microsecond to shoot between these two trees, and at this point this buck is sorta behind some bushes covered from my view, his antlers hit the opening, i verified its a Shooter. I guessed when to pull the trigger and hit it perfectly behind the left shoulder, the bullet hit the right shoulder upon exit, it just Drops. Im standing there on the ladder in disbelief what occurred and how fast it happened and time dont slow down but the moment seemed to. It was all within like 10sec it had to be. But that was imo an unlikely shot and it was imo perfect.
Happens a lot where I get down from the stand and here comes a doe or buck or even both running in then stop and turn around before I could even live the bow
are you freaking serious? i always thought anywhere i pee is busted for the week. thanks for the intel! Ive made many hunts way too miserable for myself expanding my bladder to the size of a 2 liter@@TheBarbellBandit
@@DrCrunchyRiffpeople always say that you should never put out smells from smoking or peeing from the stand but I’ve bow hunted with my dad a few times and he has had to put out his cigarette to draw back on deer. It bothers everybody on our lease.
Forgot the time when you're bored, so you watch RU-vid shorts on silent and when you look up, the 10 point you have on camera just cruised right through the kill box and now you just watch him wonder off going about his day in the forest. Still hurts.
Reminds me of my son first deer hunting had him on the ground bout 100 yards so I could keep eye him he could doe or buck had a doe walk by him 5 feet away I thought why didn't shoot ask him later said never saw it well he fell a sleep
So what you're saying is that you don't intentionally use sitting in the woods as an excuse to catch up on sleep away from the house? Damn, I learned all wrong. My dad always said, "Son, this is just an excuse to get away from the house and drink beers in the morning." He's about 12 years from his last deer. Makes a lot of sense now.
Done everything except doze off 🤣 sadly enough one of the things I dropped was the arrow from my bow while I was trying to get it knocked on the string 🤣
I had the exact same thing happen, except it was a raccoon and he stole cheese crackers out of a grocery bag at a campground. Maybe we should start a support group.
Should have added the part when the squirrel alarm sees you move then barks its head off to alert every animal in the area, while it faces you and points you out.
Lol.. I dropped and lost a cell phone that way. I was later convinced that the deer were calling each other when I walked in after a buddy lost his phone too.😂😂😂
I hate to brag but my first hunt was recently I took 4, 18” 2x4s and built 2 steps and a sitting bench on a leaning tree on a high spot. Climbed up and sat there proud of myself about 8 ft off the ground and started staring at the evening sky. 20-30 min go by and a 180lb buck walks up from behind to about 15 yards from me. Held my breath and pulled… and drove home on the first hunting day of the year with my first buck on my first hunt from my first rifle 😂 Preparation and Luck. Thank you God 🙏🏼
I prefer ground blinds. It’s easier to rub one out when hunting is slow. Although, it was a little tough during archery this year because my dad was sitting next to me.
Packing up after empty handed hunt, trekking 2 miles back to parking with all gears on my back, only to see a giant 10 points feeding a few yards from my truck.
@@btlietz still-hunting. I don't intentionally wear blue jeans hunting, but there's been times where i've gone straight out from work, or unexpectedly had some time, had the gun, and ran out for a hunt. Not wearing camo has never prevented me from getting deer.
@@zzz7zzz9yup. I’ve killed many deer wearing blue jeans and a flannel.. honestly I think I’ve killed more deer wearing jeans than I have wearing camo😂😂
I think farting is mandatory…. & remembering what Momma told me to say… xcuse me… not sure what scared even the squirrels away, but prolly yelling xcuse me 😂
I rattle in a dozen buck every season from 22 feet up. If the antlers aren’t in your hands, you’re not doing it right. You need to bang them together. Dangling antlers on a rope and hitting the ground sounds nothing like a buck fight. Maybe two 4 points playfully sparring. That’s not going to draw in any mature buck. A deer that’s out of sight can’t possibly determine if a sound is coming from the ground or up in a tree.
I was smoking and watching the smoke cloud roll down the creek bed, then a buck stepped out and it smacked him right in the nose, he started sniffing and walking my way licking his nose searching for more 😂
I put about 8 ounces of bourbon in my coffee thermos. It keeps you warm all day on the coldest of days. It gets cold up here in Saskatchewan. You need to be buzzed to archery hunt from a tree stand when it’s 2 degrees out
