The reason GTA SA had a much creepier atmosphere in the forests or in Smoke's Crack Palace is because you never actually saw anything paranormal yet people were saying that they saw ghosts/bigfoot. And this is exactly what made it 10 times creepier. This is the difference between SA's faceless unknown monsters and GTA 5's low quality png cutout ghost

The lack of cheats in recent GTA's is what hurts me the most. I remember playing San Andreas for hours without doing a single mission, just enjoying the pure amazing fun of all the chaos you could create with all of the cheats.

I was actually so terrified of the woods in SA that I didn't complete the missions required to go there untill I was older.

I really liked the vibe of GTA SA. I used to play open world mobile games like Vegas Crime Simulator, Rope Hero etc. but when I played GTA SA, I was amazed to see how advanced this game was (despite knowing that this game was still around 10-12 years old). I was firstly amazed to see how big its map was, how many cars it had, and the fact that it had accessible planes! I spent eternity trying to get into Los Santos International airport and when I finally got to fly a plane, I immediately got 4 star wanted level during my ride. All these memories, I think I can never make such memories again with any other game as this one was the first "Computer Game" I played.

Gta V without mods will feel boring to play after a while, but GTA SA even without mods have infinite things to do and every cheat code in gta SA has its own fun

These weathers thing are not exactly true. Right, technically GTA SA has 256 weathers, but most of them are used for interior lighting, "EXTRACOLOURS" are used for interiors too, while "underwater" is an underwater ambience, it's not technically a weather, so it's 20 weathers in total, most of them are very similar. As for the creepy ambience, it's not entirely a GTA V issue, it's an "issue" with newer games in general, older technology is creepier than modern, that's why for example, VHS is frequently used in horror movies, instead of 4K modern video. GTA V looks realistic, so less creepy, when SA tried many different tricks to achieve fog or rain, that wouldn't look like shit, has lower rendering distance, less detailed environment etc., so it's more uncanny with more imagining going in our brain. For the same reason, I think that PS2 horrors were the best

BUT THIS DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT GTA 4 IS A GOOD GAME

GTA San Andreas still is an amazing game even this day, I feel that we will hardly have another GTA with such quantity of content this game have.

i personally think that the reason GTA:SA is more fun is because the dev doesn't need to put as much thoughts and time towards the graphics, and can spend more on other aspects such as details and whatnots, while GTA:V, being a game in a modern era, dev is more urged to make a beautiful graphics including the animations. the same goes to games like Cyberbug 2077.

Be honest, San Andreas was the best. If they genuinely would've worked on definitive edition, brought back the featured which we couldn't use back in the days due to hardware limitations and not messed up, it would've been simply too good😭

Can I also add the fact that in GTA:SA you had around 5 or 6 fighting styles you could choose from and train them? GTA:V only has the basic one.

GTA SA felt like you had the freedom to explore the map and do other things. You can advance the story on your own time. The New GTA makes it feel like you absolutely have to play the story and leave little in the way of exploring the world map or taking on side mission.

I remember having so much fun with the super bunny hop cheat while riding a bicycle. After hopping around a ton in the city, the bike and CJ suddenly started burning; like, literal combustion out of nowhere. 😆

I play GTA sa still today on my mobile, the most lovely thing about this game is that there are so many mods and so many missions that some people even never heard of that they existed in the game. This game was made for pure fun and the toughest gta series yet, I have still not completed it 100% though. What I really liked was you can personalize your body anyway you want like muscles and tattoos

Fun fact you could indeed fly to North Yankton early gta online. I'm sure there's still videos but rockstar decided to patch it and add a dead zone on that side on the map now so you can't get there anymore

If you want the same speed effect just look down while driving or riding. If you want more speed than ever, activate and deactivate franklin's special hability, you just have to let it 1 second, then turn it off and then turn on again for another 2 secconds. Now just activate and deactivate fast while speeding. It will significantly increase the speed even if you're just starting to move or crashed. Then look down as I've said.

Yeah it was so fun I even played them on mobile (which was a flawed version) for hours everyday back then. With no mods, unable to use cheat codes and some times even crashed unexpectedly, the game was so fun that I forgot all of that disadvantages and roamed around the map in joy.

About the last bit, I gotta agree, I remember lots of wacky funny stuff that happened in gta sa, and it was all possible due to the game's funny physics and comical animations. While as GTA V, even though I completed it not long ago, I barely remember anything of the game, not a quality issue ofc, I just cannot go over gta SA at all

i really don't like how open world and car racing games of nowadays, stopped using that motion blur to create sense of speed. it was such a clever idea, NFS Shift 2 was the last game that used to technique ridiculously well.

My favourites in GTA SA were a) the Jetpack, b) the unholy amount of cheats to mess around with and c) the Gang Wars where you could ''hire'' peds to help you out

You forgot being able to dual wield certain weapons if you reached hitman level proficiency. It was cool as shit running around with dual machine guns or pistols and it even served a purpose. It let you not only do more damage but you could target two enemies at once. You could target them at different elevations and even on opposite sides of CJ. It really made intense shootouts feel much more action packed.

I felt a sense of Freedom while playing GTA: SA in My PS2 when i was kid, that no other game could match since then...I mean u could Even be a truck driver, and it was cool AF...

In gta San Andreas they added everything they could to still have good framerates on most platforms while keeping variety and realism. In gta 5 they prioritized with extremely realistic graphics and optimizing it.

You had limitless fun in GTA San Andreas. From vigilante missions to just wasting npcs with a Harvester.

my favourite thing about gta sa is how they specified your skills of the guns and cars. you can get specific skills for bikes, cars, planes, and specific skills for every single weapon there is. speaking about skills, the skills in gta 5 were done pretty poorly. strength is gathered extremely slowly, you get infinite stamina when you get full (gta sa requires getting 10k or more on burglary for infinite stamina, adds to the challenge), there is no eating meaning no fat meaning you can't lose strength (in gta sa if you have no fat, you will die and will also lose muscle), driving skill is only easy to get with franklin and finally shooting is very easy to get with michael (still easy with the others but michael gets it way faster)

idk why they removed fast foods in GTA V. it was a thing in GTA SA, expanded in GTA IV with restaurants and diners also, and you could hang out with friends but it was completely removed in GTA V

about cars in this 2 series: GTA SA: You could go really fast, and with Nitro you could spice it up. Also, san andreas suspension system is much more detailed than V btw, you really can see how it moves on stairs and on bumpy surfaces. There's that mod garage in San Fierro where you can mod vehicles for well, "races" but you can only go with them in free roam...anyway, those painst, and bumpers were awesome. The best which San Andreas did is, every 15 house on the map, their garages can repair your vehicle! GTA 5: It was a HUGE disappoint for me :,,,,( 1 year ago i was so hyped to download, then when i booted it up, i was surprised how the car speed was decreased :/ that 140 mph (225 km/h) seems pretty slow not just visually, but it feels like slow, it doesnt matter if its a 1m car, it doesnt matter if its a upgraded sport car. GTA 5 Logic is. Just go to the accelaration and thats all :P, pretty ****ed

For me, Rockstar will have a BLAST if they do some kind of remake of SA. Better and bigger Los Santos map. Also San Fierro, Las Venturas better and bigger maps. After story of what happened... Kendl is kidnapped and Sweet, Cesar and CJ start to investigate... every city is unlocked, only you unlock missions in these cities, while you play the game. The only thing you have to unlock is better and bigger countryside with good amount of small towns/villages. Who's with me?? :) And after all the missions are over, CJ returns to Liberty City - Just an ending mini movie of how he goes there and what new adventures he gets into.... or maybe... after he finds Kendl, he goes to Liberty City to find and make a revenge of the guy who ordered the kidnapping of Kendl... And next GTA is CJ in Liberty City ;)

i love motion speed in sa but my opinion sense of speed in Vice City Stories Are Way Much Better

How much you wanna bet that if the creators of gtasa had todays modern technology but was still the year when rules didn’t rule the gaming industry, they would push this game to the absolute limit. Countless weather mechanics, countless car modding that is actually good and can unbalance the game instead of everything being the same car with a different body. More martial art moves, more cities, longer story, momentous side quests, detailed characters than what we have already, more bikes and maybe a bike shop with possible mods. Skateboards since they wanted it but couldn’t get it to work at the time. More clothes, more stores, better load times, more weapons and some mods. Also weapons that were unique instead of the same rifle with a different skin. Jet pack combos like using a freaken flamethrower while flying. Maybe different jet packs? More combat planes. More animal life to see and hunt even. So much that. Could’ve been made if people weren’t super sensitive about every single thing that isn’t involving them.

I assume all of these features will be implemented in GTA 6. I like to think the reason why Rockstar has taken this long is because they revisited the older titles including DLC, stories, and spinoffs. The ability to change your physique by eating too much or buffing up. The friendship system in GTA 4. Optional missions via purchase of property like in Vice City and San Andreas. Maybe they'll include the ability to travel to other cities as well in this new title.

Myth hunting in SA was one my favorite activities as a kid, so many memories! I would go to the luxury clothes shop in LS, dress CJ up in a black tuxedo. Then i'd get any car i felt like, take it to TransFender to paint it black and install offroad wheels and 10x nitrous. After this, i would do a couple of weapon cheats, get a camera, pull a map with myth locations from the internet and pronto. I was all set. I would either go to the locations of the myths and photograph them or look for Leatherface, bigfoot, Jason Vorhees, you name it (i actually thought they were real without mods lol). Great times!

Hopefully in 10-20 years we will be able to get a flight from San andreas to vice city or liberty city. Please just make it happen Rockstar you know we would pay a decent price for that so why not??

I liked how much there was to do. Trucking, medic, racing, driving and flying school, and all the he rewards that came with it. Even the burglary missions at the beginning gave you infinite sprint if you got over 10k in valuables.

Yes, The best scenes of speed in my opinion is GTA IV, it did everything right. Everything is extremely enjoyable.

GTA V doesn't have the replay value that San Andreas has. Even after almost 20 years the game feels interesting. Also the fact that you don't need the highest end setup and tons of storage to play that game is an added bonus.

Best cheat in san andreas was the flying boat cheat because it took a nice big wave and some finesse to get em really airborne, ya had to be able to dive and then quickly pull up from a tall enough jump off a wave. That was fun for no reason i swear. And san andreas also had a decent variety of boats of varying top speed so if you wanted to get the greatest flying boat experience you had to scour the map looking for the fastest boats.
