The fact that they make me delusional and I expect all relationships to be like that. And when they are supposed to be waking up and they look so good that we should have to pay to look at them meanwhile me looking like a piece of poop.
You know what I hate the most , a person who does all wrong with an obsession but is killed by only a bullet in head or on spot killed by an accident caused by leads , but what about the sufferings caused to the leads for their WHOLE life. Atleast they should satisfy us with a happy life of main leads or sufferings of bad guy (please exclude the handsome one's 🐱)
1)When someone dies or when People are trying to kill the female lead like WOW 2)When toxicity(from either FL or ML) is disguised as cute stuff in romcom 3) When we don't get to know the reason behind the Main Villain's actions because most of the time they are just Psycho even tho it's doesn't make any sense 4) When the male lead is suffering while the Female lead is oblivious to all that and having the time of her life. Mostly because He only exists for her so can't go on with his daily shit like a normal person.
And then the „my family is so poor, I have my only room, we have a separate shower and bathtub, and I have my own desk and I have a personal chef cook“
Exactly and they do it in slowmo which makes it even more awkward I feel so uncomfortable watching these I either get angry a the character or just skip the scene altogether 💀🙄
AHHH HAN SEO JUN, I WILL SAY THIS AGAIN, LEE JU KYUNG IS SO F-ING DUMB, HAN SEO JUN WAITED, FOR 2 YEARS AND YOU LEFT HIM FOR SOMEONE WHO LEFT YOU BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT YOU COULDN'T WAIT
i hate it when they make the characters so painfully shy that the "only" way for them to confess is to get drunk....then they don't even remember it. half of k-drama confessions happen when unconscious, under the influence, or in the middle of a fight
that's why i loved doctor slump. they were so mature when it came to dealing with their feelings and telling each other how they felt without unneccesary drunk confession scenes
I also hate it when one will obviously see a car coming but instead of moving away, they just stand there waiting for the angel of God to save them (like dude leave the road😂)
Or when someone goes to save them and instead of pushing them off the road, they just hug the person and stand still in front of the car like if you had time to go hug the person you might as well have used it to push them off the road na
@@kerstingravel8160 being shocked happens in real life so you might get frozen. But it shouldn't be writtrn in a romantic way where someone handsome will come cause in real life it doesn't happen 99.99%. Maybe 100% false
I agree. The h? Like how many actually do end up with their first lv? And that too, they always meet their first love in childhood only, like when they were below 10 yrs old. And! And those kids (leads) both don't just grow up to be the ace in their field (occupation) but also always turn out to be good people while also looking all fine, tall, well built/good figure, healthy, beautiful/handsome. All of that is so stupid for it to repeat in almost every K and c drama. And why, why do you have to harm parents? Why can't you have a normal story, where both parents of both leads are healthy and well, the leads did not meet in their childhood, they are not the "fated" ones, they just meet each other later in life ? And some take it to another level by having the leads reincarnate several times through centuries, only for them to get a happy ending finally in the present time of the world (I'll excuse "Destined with you" bcuz that was fun to watch, and better in many areas compared to the other works of the same kind/similar story). Or... there's just so much killing and all with zombies and all like in squid game, duty after school etc. The first love that you meet in childhood, some tragedy happen and you meet again later in life, both looking and being good people while being the ace in their field plot is the most annoying one for me.
Things I don't like in k dramas: 1. Male lead with traumatic childhood 2. Male lead family caused FML parents' death 3. Random fall down and Kiss 4. They always met as kids 5. First kiss and confession get disturbed by a random dude 6. That white truck 7. Lovers from past life 8. Always first kiss in ep 8 9. Random break up in ep 14 10. Ending become a tragedy for no reason
i hate that white truck seriously and the fact is now it has become a meme so kdrama directors and writer used that damn white coloured truck to unalive the character and why there are no other trucks? in the recent show i watch it was marry my husband and the ml gets infront of a white truck to save the fl idk i should be sad but when i saw the truck i started laughing and crying why?? white trucks
im fine with the traumatic childhood thing, but the one drama i watched where the male lead's family caused the female lead's parent's death was in Clean with a Passion for Now and that shit was no fun at all
For me its---- showing the pure love between brother or any sibling/step sibling in the first half of the drama and then making them blood enemies at the end like in Flex x Cop
I hate when characters play unnecessarily cute or clueless dumb even it's common sense,it doesn't even look natural, it makes me cringe hard it happens in every kdrama
if they say Africa like its not a continent one more time or talk about African poor people like there isnt poor people in America, Europe, or Asia.. I will SCREAM..
In more serious kdramas, whenever they mention a criminal or villain escaping to another country, they will always mention SEA countries like the Philippines and Thailand. They will never mention these countries as tourist-go-to places for vacation even though a lot of Korean people come to SEA countries for their beautiful beaches and tropical landscapes 😅
Getting drunk as a plot device to move the romance forward. It’s like almost every show. Like good thing they have alcohol in Korea because apparently they would never be able to find love without it. Also how they often suddenly have to part for 1-3 years at the end of the show for some random reason. Like they can’t just have a happy ending without that.
I've literally started watching some dramas thinking, "I wonder what crazy reason they'll make up for the leads spending two years apart this time." Sure enough, the ML spent two years in the US because... well I'm still not really sure why.
I hate when the male lead is supposed to be this high-powered, sophisticated CEO but as soon as things turn romantic he acts like a bumbling 12-year-old who has never been kissed. Actually I hate it when any of the male characters act like bumbling 12-year-olds when things get romantic.
And he has no works except chasing after FL. I mean they must be tired after whole day work but how do you still have time and energy to go out and drinks.
Agreed, the white truck of doom is always there. Whenever a character is near a road in any drama, I expect one to suddenly appear out of nowhere. Oh and bad things always happen when it rains!
I think the thing I hate the most is the way they'll just stand there watching a vehicle hurtle toward them, like wtf they have plenty of time to move out of the way, but they just stand there. Also how the driver can see them not moving a mile off, but continues driving straight towards them, when there's plenty of time for them to stop or simply change lanes!!! It's even more ridiculous when it's a bicycle!!!
This and when the fl falls (so slowly) and ml catches her then they stay there staring at each other (like omg just move it's not that serious yall got other things to be doing). And they act so shocked too, that's why I like the second episode when everything is faster 🙄
Last episode, everything's perfect, but then something happens and one of the main leads suddenly has to go abroad for a year. The next scene is shown, they're already back and getting yelled at by the other main lead for not contacting them that whole year. Then they get married. Like, literally wtf. WHY? For WHAT?
Oh my god, I hate this one. It sounds too ridiculous to marry your lover who ghosted you!. I haven't watched this one high rated drama (can't remember the name) because someone spoiled the ending for me and it's the same ending you mentioned.
@@small_dropin_the_big_ocean995 yeah, but why the abroad plot anyways? It adds nothing to the story. And even if you know the ending, it maybe spoiler you into knowing that they'll end up together but other than that, it really doesn't matter. A lot of kdramas have this plot. Here are some (so spoiler alert I guess): Coffee Prince Business Proposal My Name is Kim Sam Soon Incurable Case of Love (japanese) The Heirs Goblin My Love from the Star Boys over Flowers She was pretty
@@myeramimclerie7869 Oh damn, I have dropped and forgotten like all of these dramas for similar overused troupes (except for My name is Sam Soon, I haven't watched that one). I didn't even know they had same "ghost your partner for a year" ending. I don't get it either. Just for shock value I guess, but all it does is spoil my entire feeling towards the show.
@@small_dropin_the_big_ocean995 I mostly just ignore it 😅 I'm like "oh well here we go again" and then watch through that roughly 5mins this madness takes out of the final episode... I'll just be happy that they ended up together.
I don't like it when either the ML or FL develops feelings for each other and cheat on their past relationships and then it is justified because their past partners were toxic...
@@zoeemin9487no cause I couldn't get rid of that too, they only turned the male lead ex into a cheater so they could justify him emotionally cheating on her with the female lead
@@kiconcograce2718okay i do agree vth the unnecessary historical tropes in a drama when it's not completely about their past life....but in "a good day to be a dog" i think that trope was needed...i mean if u have read the original webtoon of the drama, u wud understand better cox the reason she turns into a dog was well explained there... I didn't really liked the drama version tho...but i just felt that trope wss reqd cox it was originally planned for the webtoon.
One thing I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE about dramas is when the female lead is a damsel in distress and cant take care of herself, then cowers behind the male lead and depends on him to protect her. LIKE GROW A FREAKING BACKBONE AND HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH QUEEN.
Accidental eavesdropping as a way to advance the plot. I now expect that if there's ever a conversation where someone says, "Don't ever, ever repeat this to Ahjumma", Ahjumma will be right outside the door, probably because she left something in the room and had to come back to fetch it.
The falling over so someone can catch them. Sheesh, I’m in my 50s and have fallen over like twice in my entire life. And certainly no one caught me! And the whole I need to go to the hospital when it’s like a paper cut! In Australia you practically need to be missing an arm before you would bother with the hospital. Just stick a bandaid on it you babies!
I hate when the relationship of the second leads are more interesting than the main story but they are only shown in two episodes and are instantly together or have a bad ending. and I hate when the second leads are hotter and cooler and deserve a good ending more than the main leads but get a bad ending and no one to love.
yes EAW was indeed a good drama sometime i even rewatch it as the ml is prbly the greenest flag ever and her friends are supportive and the fact her bestie liked the lawyer but when she saw another lawyer liked she was like ok whatever
I hate when female characters are physically abusing their male friends or lovers just for the comedic effect. I haven't seen it yet with reversed genders, but I'd hate that too.
@@PrabhatKumar-xw6gl From the top of my head the secondary FL either punches or kicks her BF in Cafe Minamdang when he tries to kiss her so their relationship can stay in secret from the ML. Same in Hometown Cha Cha Cha although not that severe and I love that series, the FL punches the ML trying to hide from the local Ajummas that they are dating but of course it doesn't work.
I hate when people are ALWAYS interrupting the male and female leads when they’re just trying to kiss each other for literally two seconds!!! Love ur channel btw
For me most annoying is shaking someone after some accident (in case of some displacement you can cause permanent paralysis) instead of doing CPR. Apparently only doctors in Korea can perform first aid.
It’s an established trope but I really would like to see a rich chaebol matriarch/patriarch character that isn’t 1000% supportive of their terrible child/grandchild when they do something terrible. Like I understand that someone in their position may be likely to protect ‘their own’ and adopt the mindset of special privileges awarded to them due to their wealth and standing. But for once I’d like to see one that has strong enough morals that it wouldn’t fly with them, or they’d enact a form of punishment onto their kids in their own way. And…you know, not be killed off trying to do the right thing. I also hate when there’s the ‘one’ good rich person they either aren’t rich for long or get killed off just in time to NOT help the main characters.
i hate that the writers think that romance kdramas should always end with a marriage cause most of the time the leads haven't even been dating for that long, or their career growth can be interupted by that wedding. like not every single couple have to get married immediately OR ever to be together
Piggy back rides, drink until they are black out drunk, someone has to go the states for 2-5 years with no contact whatsoever, blind dates, finally get together in episode 9 only to break up at the end of episode 9. Everyone is SK knew each other in childhood, angry pushy parents. conversation at shout level in restaurants, overhearing side characters.
well i would like to add the "Past connections" that's being connected with present where everytime only the female lead dies and the male lead follows her
I hate when the writers design a character so well that is literally the perfect man/woman and then make the lead couple break up just so they can introduce another season of the drama. (Hello Yumi's Cells S2)
But cliffhangers are important o make us watch the next episode. Honestly after watching so many k dramas I really need the cliffhangers to keep me going as I easily get tired of all the previously mentioned bullshits.
That is what I was trying to say! I think like all the points made by OP are a result of troupès overdone in kdramas that has resulted in exhaustion and leaves bad taste.
You think with the popularity of K-Dramas and tropes they’d have some variation of the ‘I’m-up-to-no-good’ outfit an antagonist/villain wears when they’re doing something bad or illegal. Like at this point anyone I see rocking black clothes (bomber jacket and skinny jeans) head to toe with a black baseball cap, mask, and gloves in any show I’m immediately sus. Yet in universe no one’s batting an eye even when it’s broad daylight or a group. It makes sense when the villain looks like a delivery person or made any effort to blend in. The suspense and thrill is there but subtle. But I would be on high alert if I saw anyone walking toward me, going in/out of a building, or at my doorstep in that get up. But the leads tend to either not notice until it’s too late or try ‘what’s going on’ their way out via talking.
I hate school dramas where the students go crazy bcuz some1 is handsome... Like hello he's just another human I hate when the FL chooses the male lead who treats her like trash n not the 2nd lead tht is always there 2 wipe her tears I hate when as soon as some1 is abt to reveal some evidence 2 the police they die... Like stop drawing it out... Geez Among other things😌
You are right. Nowadays 16 episodes are feeling like 16 years for me😂 They should shorten it to 10 or 12 episodes. But if it is a comedy kdrama even 20 episodes are not enough for me.
I totally agree with the one about the two male leads fighting over then female lead the they always have more tension and chemistry sometimes I find my self rooting for them to be together 😭
Not even one kdrama has male and female lead who has both their father and mother alive (either or both are dead) , and even if you find one kdrama, then he/she might suffer abuse. Like is there not even a single normal family in a kdrama🤦🏻♂️
Hahahaha. I don't think I have watched many kdramas where young characters explicitly states their parents are dead. It looks more like they kinda ignore their existence.
What i hate the most is when there is misunderstanding, the girl happen to listen to a conversation accidentaly and boom she go and don't know the rest and the worst is because she believe everything without any proof and didn't even think that the best solution is to comunicate with your boyfriend , investigate to know the truth but no what she does is to break up without any explaination and cry all the tears of her body
When the protagonists claim to be in a relationship without ever exchanging a kiss, just reciting monologues not even looking at each other (and then "breaking up"). I mean, imagine having Moon Sang Min (Wedding impossible) or Choi Minho (The Fabulous) all for yourself during a day and a night and just... stargazing silently! That is something a hot blooded, passionate Greek like me just cannot understand and accept!!!
The sudden personality flip of a cinnamon role character 4 episode till the finale just to add a murder mystery plot irks me. Especially when there’s little to no build up.
When it’s the 12th episode, everyone’s happy, the leads are finally together and then the white truck shows up thenn female lead gets kdrama induced amnesia
Oh the number of marriage/remarriages, the death and rebirth of the same person in one same lifetime, the number of times they divorce/separate and get back together, the number of accidents and great diseases they survive. I have the one serial I hate the most of all Hindi serials, "Kasam", just to keep up with their Title of the show, the craziness that the plot went through reminds me of "Bade Achhe Lagte Hai s1". Actually in a way, it's almost every Indian serial's plot. Looking back "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehelatha hai : story of Akshara and Naithik" until their kids grew up was a quality family drama 🤌🤌. There was a realistic plot and real-life situation portrays.
Childhood connections: I HATE THEM. especially when they supposedly "fell" for each othwr and carry those feeling to adulthood. Please be real! What child still pines over a kids they new when yhwy were 7?
I also hate the wasted food and drinks, the drunk person who throws up is somehow cute (ick), the violence in schools scenarios, the shaking of injured people (geez, never heard of spinal injuries people), the way many women are portrayed as bit#$3, (most of us actually don’t hate other women) the parents often being so so so awful, the trips where they take one little backpack but seem to have so many different outfits, the ‘they have a fever’ and treat it with some random medicine. I love K dramas, but the best ones don’t rely on these tired tropes and overused storylines.
Lol, the shaking of injured people is so real, like someone just got stabbed and they're shaking him, crying and saying "wake up please !" Like CALL AN AMBULANCE, APPLY PRESSURE, DO CPR, ANYTHING IS BETTER THAN THIS
Fighting over FL but they just start a new chapter of bromance.. Like shown in : True beauty, strong girl do bong soon etc. But it's okay, we enjoyed it anyway..🤣🤣 You know what I mean... 👀👀
They always have at least one scene where they are eating. But I think the directors believe it is funny when they stuff their mouths with food. That alone is bad. But they make it worse by talking with their mouth full of food, and even before swallowing that mouthful, they stuff some more food in. And continue talking.
the first one is so true, i hate it when they get in a fight in the 14th episode and then they drop this shit: " 2 years later". Like bro stop doing that, 2 years don't just go by like that. As if 2 years would actually change anything. Bro, make it 2 weeks or something like that, but not 2 years😐
the first one is ALWAYS on the plot that makes it normal for me. i'm like "oh here we go again". or like i already know it's gonna happen before even starting the kdrama.
l hate when the female lead forgive so easily like girl he killed your dad or even he broke up with you because of long distance but you still choose to forgive him make it make sence
The first one was so hateful as In the show heirs ml and the fl separate because of family issues cry, be sad and Then reunite after 2 episodes. For no reason. Nothing changed with the situation, nothing changed in their life, if they separated for some reason that reason had no solution.
It is difficult to watch ongoing dramas! I’ve done it a few times and ended up watching other dramas in between the next episode. Also, the 2nd male lead needs their own female lead who isn’t chosen just because the female lead chose the male lead. Breakups, misunderstandings, conniving characters, those all ruin everything, even though they get corrected at the end.
I hate love triangles that include ex-lovers or bosses when they're not the male lead like backstreet rookie with his girlfriend and her boss and Queen of tears with her ex. I don't know for sure if that's her ex
I personally hate when for some reason so many romance kdramas alway have a kidnapper or murder or stalker that just is there to drag on the show for no reason
Hates it when the leads leave eachother to save eachother. Like, what the fk? Where is the logic, and the cherry on top - they don't share this information to one another.
Your work is truly smile inducing and wonderful to watch! Thanks for your hard work and for sharing! I often find new dramas to watch from your work and also…ones to avoid!
I hate in the thriller type dramas like penthouse when cool or like high-end places are set on fire and destroyed, or that one second male lead that we all find really annoying because the FL does'nt lose feelings for him until the tenth episode, or when theres a kiss scene and they carry it out to the next episode and you have to wait. wow i feel like i just went on a whole rant! 😭
I hate it how in most of the dramas,ml and fl ss do not have either their mom or dad or both😑 Tell me some dramas where the ml and fl both have their parents *alive*
To be honest cliffhangers are part of the fun though. The waiting and wondering and coming up with a million theories...it's all part of the experience for me. The rest of the stuff I agree with 100%
