6:00 We have a similar system in the part of the US I'm from, but instead of returning it to the store, we have dedicated recycling centers to bring the bottles and cans to. The lines are always really long because people bring in lots of bottles/cans, but they also have a Green Bag program where you can start an account there and basically use their drop box to bypass the lines. It's pretty ingenious Though it doesn't really help keep our city all that much cleaner.

Das ist,weil man in einem Land als Neuankömmling erst die Chancen sieht und was besser ist. Nicht unbedingt weil man negatives Ausblendet sondern, wegen dem frischen Blick der als direkt vergleicht. Gibt so gar ein Word für dieses Phänomen fehlt mir nur nicht ein.

Funfact about the Icecream Cafes/Pizzerias/Greek Restraunts in Germany: most of those Restaurants are there, because the owner or there Parents came to Germany to help harvest asparagus and just stayed here and opened restaurant or ice cream cafes

when i went to denmark, i was actually surprised when some of the trains i went on got to the station early. here in the uk, that would be a godsent if they were like that because the trains and trams are usually on time or either late. also, i was amazed at the quality of the trains, especially ones that go to sweden and norway (ö/øresundståg)

when I used to live in upstate New York, they had a system like that, but the grocery store we used to go to had a system where you would get a bunch of special bags and barcode tags, what you would do with them is bring them to the store when you go on your weekly trip for your groceries, and bring them to this special chute, where first you scan the tag on the bag, and throw it down the chute. there you go (bottles no longer posing a safety hazard in your home)
