I don't call myself an author because I don’t believe in labels.
I believe that story is art - that it's sacred, and that it is and has always been a force that changes and shapes our world. That's why I write, and that's why I create videos (even co-produced an environmental film). I consider the world my home, and enjoy submerging in unique cultures nearly as much as I love submerging in the ocean and riding the waves. I am the author of the young adult urban fantasy series The Blood Race, and am currently working on several new series's. I definitely enjoy wearing fuzzy socks when I'm writing. I feel like it's become a mental trigger to me by this point that, when I put them on, it means I'm going to write. I know that's not really something in my writing space, per se, but I'm unfortunately unable to really set up a permanent writing space, so that seems like the next best thing :P Your writing space looks really nice! Maybe I'll look into getting a stand someday as well; I have definitely noticed having shoulder pain due to writing recently.

In my writing space, I always have a notebook and my pens handy to take notes as I draft. And usually a candle or incense burning nearby. These calm me and help me focus. I especially like warm, autumnal scents year round like cloves, nutmeg, apple, sandalwood, driftwood, etc. My glasses are essential, though I've been meaning to get blue light resistance on the lenses. I will also have headphones to block out the world around me, sometimes with a nature sounds RU-vid in the background. I put it on Loop. Blessed Be.

Hello ! I just discovered your channel from Abbie’s channel. I have a minimalist desk too, but I love to have my colored pencils on it, in beautiful mugs (instead of pencil pots). It brings colors, cheerfulness and fun !

That's an awesome setup you have. My setup is a laptop, ambient sounds (mostly a fire place video), and an empty cup of coffee.

A cozy blanket lol I write from my laptop and I move around a lot. But somehow I always get cold and need a blanket 😂😂

I love your vibe and channel! I also love collecting energizing gems and oil diffusing. My personal favorite blend while writing has been a combination of Frankincense, Clary Sage and Bergamot, Lavender oil is a huge go-to for me. Sometimes I'll utilize a mint oil if I need an extra boost of energy. At the moment I still need to clean my office a bit as I have a bunch of sewing and painting materials lying around cluttering up my space, and I hope to get another bookcase soon as one of the book cases broke a couple of months ago so I have bags upon bags of books just lying around my office as well. Once my office gets cleared, I'm hoping to put a Mother In Law Tongue plant up there to try to clarify the air, I already have a spider plant and two aloe plants in my dining room and they are doing wonderfully.

Hey! You should get more views and likes because your videos are awesome! I'm finding I'm having the problems you had while writing... I keep telling myself that I'm willing to strain my eyes fir the cause of my story!! Well... should I?? 🤔 Anyways, my writing space is normally my messy desk. Stuff like that doesnt bother my writing... too much... but being minimal also helps I find! Sometimes I write in bed with the window open. SO calming. Another great video!!❤❤

Well... My writers space... It's something like, wherever my mind, my pen, my notebook or my laptop are... I just need a lot of noise in the background, so I start to create things in my mind, so I can scape the real world... Hehe
