I think the part that scares me most is like.. the investing aspect? And feeling stuck and like I'll never have enough money saved to start my business. Idk anything about filing taxes as a business, other licenses you need, insurance you need, profit margins, managing finances, book and record keeping, etc. Is it kind of just trial and error and you have to fail before you fly? Or did you take a business class beforehand? These are the only things holding me back :/

Just found you and love your advice! I had to wear a similar thing - an armband for tennis elbow! It was from years of Esthetician facials at the spa! Im going to lash school soon, so I will FOR SURE take those preventative measures! Thanks for being real about the risks!

I can relate. I used to be a hair braider and developed carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndrome in both hands for repetitive movements. Ended up getting surgery in both hands. The money was good but it wasn’t worth the physical damage and medical costs.

I worked as a HCA and have irreversible back damage despite taking all the precautions etc etc manual handling, hoisting old people all the time just wears your back out eventually, then switched to a bakery , pipping all the day I got joint and finger pain I didn't know you could possibly experience.. everything hurts god damn it

This is so good. Thankyou for this 💕 I'm 25 weeks pregnant, just about to start my lash tech training and hopefully finish everything before the baby comes, that way I'll just need some refreshing and fine tuning after baby is here. Any advice? 😅
@thelysleung
@thelysleung 3 года назад
OMGGG I'm so excited for you!! 😆 I'm in the same boat. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and I'm tryna push out content +++ before baby comes. My advice is, after your training, don't be shy to ask your trainer questions cause inevitably they will come up even if you did your training. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! The best way to learn is to commit to as much practice as possible and spread it out. 1 hour a day if possible. Don't practice 3 hours for like 2 days every week, make sure to spread it out. You will learn faster. WEAR A GOOD MASK! Protect your baby from the fumes. castlegrade.com/products/g-series-mask?variant=32495028961380 Make sure to buy the carbon filter masks (they come separately). Lash in a well-ventilated area, with an air purifier that filters VOCs. I heard the Rowena one is good. If you learned to crystallize your fans and need to get glue on your hands to make the fan, then wear gloves! You do not want the glue or fumes getting into your body, no matter what other lash artists say that their baby came out fine. You only have about 4 months so ask everyone you know if you can practice on them. You'll learn faster on real eyeballs than on the mannequin. Start an IG profile and do model work for free to get your practice and to start building your portfolio. That's my advice :D GOOD LUCK BABE!!!! So happy for you! 💜

Same I live far from everyone, and the school requires to bring in models to practice on! I literally don’t have anyone I can bring :/ pretty much the only thing that’s stopping me from signing up for the course

Love this. I too am a nurse and now I’m wanting to do something different so that I can be a nurse part time. How did you transition from nursing to the lash business? Are you still nursing or full time business woman?
