1. Not just Germany, in any European country prescription medicines are only available on prescription by a qualified doctor. And rightfully so. Otherwise Europe would become a reflection of India, where an indiscriminate overconsumption of medicines has lead to phenomena such as resistance to antibiotics in various bacteria, threatening the working of the entire medical ecosystem. 2. When you have an emergency situation in any west European continental country, you do not wait three months for a doctor. You go to the emergency department of a hospital the same day. And the waiting time is dependent on the “triage“ performed by the doctors, meaning determination of urgency based on symptoms of all patients waiting for treatment, and then determining the position of the patient in the waiting queue. These Indian students seem to belong to the so called privileged middle class in India. They know clearly how long very poor Indian people have to wait in government hospitals in India before they get treated. But these students don’t care about or think about equal treatment for those poor people in India. Those poor people do not exist for these students. In fact these students are not talking about the “general“ speed of medical treatment in India, rather they are talking egoistically about the general speed of medical treatment in India for the middle class, not the poor classes. And they don’t even feel ashamed to talk in this manner, while doing a video interview in Germany which is a highly equalitarian country, and where they are planning to build further their personal and professional lives. In Germany people are treated equally in terms of medical entitlement. So please lose your sense of entitlement when you come to Germany. And if you are not capable of treating people genuinely equally in your heart, then please buy a ticket to return to India, where you can feel at home with the balance between your personal values and your social environment.

Germany is a socialist country. So coming from India wouldn’t change one’s life drastically. Some things will be better some things will be worse. All in all, it feels like a balancing act. Women like it better here since the society here is a little less judgmental. Or at least one wouldn’t understand the judgement because of the language. Safety is still an issue in places like Berlin as that of India. If one wants real change, they should go to capitalist country. Like the USA. Or else, manage your expectations before coming to Germany.
