In South India they used to put it in English and in North they used to put it in Hindi. Now DTH allows you to pick language. I lived in Bangalore and spent summers in Mumbai. I don't think I would be able to speak Hindi if it wasn't for those summers.

Chandrakanta, Mahabharat, Alif laila, junoon, Swabhimaan, malgudi days, dekh Bhai dekh, Ajnabee, Saahil, Captain vyom, Shaktimaan, Aryamaan etc. We 80s and 90s kids brother are same memories.
