I am 72, my husband and I are still working, we are debt-free, and we rarely travel or dine out. I have been spending a lot more on the organic products, whether fresh, frozen, or canned. The older I get the more I value our health!

In 2018, I moved into a live/work loft space with 15' wood-beamed ceilings, central heat/air, full-size W/D, brand new appliances and hardwood floors. It's close to public transportation and my rent including all utilities (gas, electric, water, trash, Internet) was $1250 and I pay EXACTLY the same amount now 6 years later. They've never raised the rent. Lucky me!

Great video! When it comes to drinks, I went decades drinking only water and tea bags that were a penny a piece. At first it was to pay off student loan debt, then other debts, then to save for a down payment on a house, then to save for replacement vehicles. When we finally met all of those goals the first thing I treated myself to were coffee, Herbal teas, The aldi generic diet soda, and zero sugar Gatorade. I drink coffee every day and my husband drinks a soda every day. We only use the Gatorade sparingly because they are 75 cents a piece But there are times when the girls have been in a dance class or husband has been out in the heat so it's nice to keep them on hand. Having a delicious drink is one of those guilty pleasures that brings a great deal of enjoyment to my life so I really value it especially having gone without for so many years. My favorite is diet Dr. Pepper but they are way too expensive so the kids get me that for holidays LOL

Electric cars are not helping the environment from the mining to the power created to charge the cars. People are really naive. Also the leakage from the batteries in an accident. Towing: Yes, towing companies need to be able to tow electric vehicles (EVs) as their popularity increases. However, towing an EV is different from towing a gasoline-powered vehicle, and there are some important considerations to keep in mind: Specialized equipment EVs require specialized towing equipment and techniques to ensure safe and damage-free recovery. A flatbed tow truck is the recommended method for towing an EV. Using a hook and chain truck, dolly, or wheel lift tow truck can damage the EV's battery and motor. Trained personnel Qualified tow truck operators need specific training to understand the high-voltage electrical systems of EVs. They may need to safely disconnect or isolate the battery during towing. Warranty coverage Many EV manufacturers specify how towing must be performed to maintain warranty coverage. Using a non-certified towing service could void the warranty. Safety precautions Tow truck operators must take precautions to avoid injuries when working with EVs. AI Overview Learn more … No, towing companies should not tow electric vehicles (EVs) with damaged batteries because of the potential for serious damage and safety risks: Battery management Damaged batteries can catch fire, so battery management is critical during towing. High-voltage electrical system EVs have a high-voltage electrical system that can be dangerous if not handled properly. Qualified tow trucks with specific training are needed to safely disconnect or isolate the battery. Electronic parking brakes Many EVs have electronic parking brakes that may not disengage when the vehicle's power is off, which can complicate towing. Traditional towing hooks and straps The unique structure of EVs may mean that traditional towing hooks and straps aren't applicable. Flatbed towing Flatbed towing is the safest method for EVs because it keeps all four wheels off the ground, preventing damage to the electric motor and drivetrain. Manufacturer's recommendations Each EV model may have specific instructions or restrictions on how it should be towed. Following the manufacturer's recommendations is essential to protecting the vehicle's warranty and functionality.

I don't do board games but looked it up out of curiosity. Looks cool, like some kind of Dungeon and Dragons. I feel your pain! Top Steam games have gone from $60 - $70 plus I've played some demos of the newer games and my machine is out of date to run some of them. All I can do is narrow down my want list and wait for good sales. And only on the ones I hope I can get hundreds of hours out of.

@randomhodgepodge8902 - yeah it's pretty cool. Gloomhaven weighed over 20lbs. Frosthaven is a bit more. My husband has a 3d printer which is way more useful than it sounds. He designs and prints miniatures to use with board games. He has tons of structures, figurines, and scenery. Its insane. He loves it though. When he's perfected a piece he sells the blueprints for them for others to print. Big money? No. But he made back the money on the printer and filliment costs at this point and is making a little more each month. Right now, about $75. He sometimes sells custom painted ones he prints out here. Those are kind of expensive but people don't seem to care. We shop the steam sales too. I've been playing Banished for over a decade I think. City builders mostly. Talisman and Wingspan might interest you. A lot of board games are going digital.

I spend more money on eating healthier. I was the one who used to drink an energy drink daily for years and got a gallstone, which I fixed myself without surgery by changing my world. More money is now spent on fresh vegetables (and sometimes fruit) plus the gas to drive multiple times (2) per week so they don't spoil as quickly. Also, AC. I drop the temp in the colder days and at night, but during the hot months the temp doesn't go above 72F, although eating salads/smoothies drops my body temp so I sometimes increase the temp to 73F.

My husband and his sister are drinking flavored water! I don't know why that struck me as strange. I asked why they didn't just flavor water with lemon. It seems so unnecessary to me. I just drink filtered water from the fridge. I'll take bottled water with me when we're traveling. Great list. Love to all, Linda 💕

I barely buy energy drinks. I honestly can't stand them. I rather have a soda and iced green tea then an energy drink. The only energy drink that I tried was through Starbucks but that's it. And it was a one time thing

I'm happily spending more money on the Crossrope app for my iPad and phone because I absolutely love it. 🥰 What I'm also spending more on this year is utilities - we aren't using any more electricity or water than we have in the past but our utility bills are about 30% higher than they've ever been. I really enjoy feeling cool in the summer and warm in the winter, so I'm paying the increased costs. 😞

I'm trying to make a decision about water. Have increased my water intake and it has been a real chore melting enough ice (refrigerator filtered) to get my water. I've bought the least expensive bottled Wolly World water twice just for the convenience. Still considering a water filter pitcher thingy but then there is the cost of the filter replacements and probably has to be cleaned. No clue on much I'm spending on drinking water because the bill I don't see but have looked up from my landlord includes sewage and garbage. But really can't stand the unfiltered chlorinated tap taste even if it is cold. If anyone out there has a cost comparison of bottled water to tap water per gallon, let me know please! Only Coke (aka pop/soda) I've bought is Sprite Zero from time to time to mix in case I need the Cranberry and also using it to alter many boxes of Hubby's Crystal Light Peach I don't care of but refuse to trash because food waste of anything when prices are so high I just can't handle.

I boiled tap water and refrigerated it when we were in Memphis. It had a strong chlorinated smell. My sister-in-law didn't have an ice maker or water dispenser. I didn't want to buy a lot of bottled water so tried boiling water. It tasted good. I don't know if I killed every awful thing in the tap water, but I felt better about drinking it.

It's not just a matter of insurance rates going up... It's that I have increased the amount of coverage. I have because other vehicles on the road are worth so much money... I live in an area with icy roads in the Winter and I worry if I don't have enough coverage to cover it any vehicle I might destroy... I got an umbrella policy for under ten dollars a month that I did not have in place before this year

Electric vehicles: I won't believe that electric vehicles sales are increasing unless I can find some legitimate numbers reports to look at. I live in the Midwest. I know family, friends who live in 10 of the 12 states that comprise the Midwest. This is something we have talked about recently. None of them know of a single person, neighbor, etc. that owns an electric vehicle. In my state, I know one person who bought an EV. In my rural county (total population of 73k) there are no EV chargers available. I think the media spotlight on EVs is propaganda to push unwanted automotive technology that feeds into FOMO. IMO.

I see some on the road. However, I think sales are lagging as new information becomes available on true mileage and inconvenience factors.

I’ve been reading how healthy Avocado’s are. That said , I don’t think people realise just how much 1 serving is. Doesn’t matter how healthy the food is…..if you’re overeating it, (any food that is) then you’re going to have health issues long term due to increased weight. We should be addressing our portion sizes, and our actual daily requirements for our sex, and age. I’m pretty sure we could all save a lot of money if we did this (me included 😂) Sharon from Australia 🇦🇺 🦘
