yes lol, my family had 2 when I was growing up and they liked to lean up against these big floor speakers that had some kind of mesh fabric over the front of them and there would be sooooo much white hair stuck to them
A close friend of mine has a Dalmatian, which bears the name Pongo inspired by the movie. Dalmatian is not for everyone, but if you have an active lifestyle and you love dogs, then get a Dalmatian.
I'm guilty of exclaiming that I've never seen one IRL before, just about a year and a half ago. Met the ones they had with the Budweiser Clydesdales and was absolutely floored by them.
I have loved having Dalmatians. Such an expressive, cuddly, playful being even into old age. I love them as much as a person. They seem very bright and emotional. Lovely dog!
I was talking with my friend about bogs and I mentioned I only know like 2 breeds golden retrievers and Dalmatians and she legit said "Dalmatians aren't a real breed lol" and I cringe so hard
Fun fact: British novelist Dodie Smith loved Dalmatians so much that she had a maximum of 9 at once. One time, while she and her husband were hosting some friends, one of Smith's friends walked up to her and made the remark that "those dogs would male a lovely fur coat". This inspired Smith to wrote her famous children's novel, The Hundred and One Dalmatians which came out in 1956.
I love my dalmatian! She was dumped in my yard on Good Friday Eve at approximately 6 wks old. She is now 5 months old and I would not take anything for her!! Smart loveable and very very active.
We know going in, that a Dalmatian will bring LOTS OF ATTENTION and people just say something to be closer and win acceptance to pet or see the dog. They don’t know what to say. Dogs bring out the innocent child in people. It’s a great joy for people’s day to see a dog of interest. I have always had unusual and interesting dogs and I accept people’s curiosity and attention. We were made for a garden, where we tended it and named all animals, and it’s in our DNA and it’s what we WANT to do by nature. I accept it and let others enjoy a happy moment looking at the loves of my life 😊
Beautifully said! My precious little Rat Terrier passed away four years ago and I love seeing dogs and petting them because it makes me feel closer to my baby girl.
"Aren't Dalmatians mean?" Dalmatians used to be known as "firefighter dogs" they use to help clear the way for the horses. Now they are used as basically emotional support for the firefighters. They help keep them cheerful and exited throughout the stressful days
I adopted one last week and got all of those questions whenever I take him for a walk people turn and watch him some changes their way thinking he's gonna bite them instead he just wanted to play with them 😂😂😂
I actually met a dalmatian before, and I gotta tell ya, he's the most cutest hyper goof ball dog breed I've ever encountered. These guys are perfect for those who like the out door
Funny that almost all of these are the same things I get asked when I'm out with my husky lol "Is that a husky?" is my favorite, I always say "no its a water buffalo"
I like how part of his mouth is pink and the other is black. So so cute. My lab has a black/ grey mouth, I didn't know dog's lips could be pink. It's so cute.
I myself have only ever seen one twice in real life, but they’re really beautiful dogs! I’m ashamed to admit, I would be thinking in my head, “Oh my gosh, it’s Pongo” if I saw one. 😅
When my daughter was young, I pointed to a Dalmatian and said, “Look that dog has freckles!” I know their spots, but I thought it was cute because I have freckles 😂. Everyone near us who hear my enthusiasm turned to see the dog with freckles!!! lol I thought it was so funny.
I used to have 2 Dalmatians when I was a kid named Pebbles and Spots. Not a day passes by that I don't think about them and I know they're in pet heaven running around doing zoomies 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
As the owner of a Dalmatian, I’ve heard all of these many times. Lol although my boy Stanley has a stocky build at 80lbs so they say “That’s a big Dalmatian! He thick” hahaha
I grew up with a dalmatian named corky.... he was awezome! Love the breed but for experienced dog owners.... same with any working breed. Our other dogs were all working dogs.... labs, shepard, wolf malamute mix, and now i keep an eye out for working breeds....
Trying to pet without asking comes with any dog that looks cute, unfortunately. As someone with a Weimaraner, cavapoo and a Great Pyrenees, it definitely isn’t just a Dalmatian problem. It’s a whole dog owning problem. 😭
Loved my Dalmatian! She was brown/liver coloured spots though. You love them so much… you’re willing to forgive that they are the worst shedders ever 😅
my old girl Emily was glued to me when i was a toddler. She would rest her head on my lap or foot whenever she could since she was to large to climb in my lap. She was such a good girl.
I had a dalmatian one time named yahtze, chillest dog in the world!! Wouldn't let me or my brother do sparklers on the 4th of July and would snatch them from us because he thought we were in danger, also he could say mom, he was the coolest!
