Hey, another thing to add to that list: When you don’t have a bad attitude when you say something, then your parents tell you to lose your attitude, now I have an attitude because you told me to lose one that I didn’t have. I get really tired of this with my mom who does this all the time
My parents know I want to become a nurse. So every time I have an argument with them, they always say: ‘You really want to become a nurse with that attitude?’

My mom thinks she's addicted and she is , and when I tell her that she says: "ok I will stop using it" and puts her phone down and takes mine away too and after 1 minute she starts using it again and when I ask for my phone she says: no take a break for atleast 1 hour

Why don't u tell them? Then they won't bother you. See heres the thing I see a lot of kids complaining about these but why don't u just answer them bc their there for you. They want to help u every way. So it's just my opinion of what u can do.

This one is true on so many levels. One time my dad pulled that crap during an argument and I answered back with: “Just because you’re an adult and have responsibility over me doesn’t mean you’re right all the time.” To his credit, he did say that that was true, but he just needed to taste a sliver of victory in the argument, so he said: “Still, I’m right most of time.”

I wear a mask outside of the house because of social anxiety and insecurities. Mom, dad, FORCING me to take off the mask dosnt help. Heck, it makes it fucking worse. Social development takes lots of TIME 😞

I don’t get why parents assume we are disrespecting them when we ask them “why?”. Saying “why?” can show that we won’t do something without knowing the reason as to why we need to do it.
My mother told me I couldn’t stay at my friends house on a weekend and I asked why she said no back talk and I said “how was that back talk? I simply asked for a reason to why I can’t, is asking for help consider begging?” She let me stay at my friends that weekend
Maybe they think the "why" is self evident and it doesn't even need to be asked. They think you already know why and are just trying to argue. Also people in authority don't feel like they should have to explain every single time they ask someone to do something because that takes too much time. Also there is an assumption that once provided with an explanation it's never good enough and you'll keep arguing. They say "no back talk" because they are thinking ahead at the future back talk they think will result if they provide an explanation. Also it's all in how you ask "why" if you say it in a certain tone it can come across as attitude, you need to be careful how you ask "why".
Exactly they spend as much time on electronics as we do And how is us doing stuff on our pcs and phones a waste of time in their eyes yet spending the entire day watching tv and talking isn't????

Yeah I’m adopted and they’re 60+ and he always gives the “well I walked 2+ miles to my school everyday” “I stayed out in the sun doing farm work with no water and no breaks” etc

Parents don't think there child is smart enough to make up a reasonable debate so they come back at it with aggression because they have no idea how to handle it because parents should be the ones to know many things and teach there child that. @@Crimbtw At the end of the day, you can’t FORCE your child to do anything. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink. Parents do need to remember that their child is their own person, they’re not their property. Respect goes both ways.
@@Crimbtw also making your child get a job is very wrong. for one, it’s not their job to fend for themself. as long as they are with you, they are your responsibility. even in low income families, i was never forced to get a job because a parent decides to have a child, not the other way around, and by doing so you signed up to take care of them whenever they need it. you can discuss it with your child, but at the end of the day if they’re not ready then they’re not ready. you can teach a child how to handle money responsibly, how to have responsibilities, how to take care of themself without forcing a job upon them
@@babybrin5118 I think getting your kid a job is alright as long as it's been agreed upon by both the parent AND the child. It teaches them how the workplace operates and gives them experience, it also gives them a bit of money that's theirs which they can do whatever they want with it. However, if it is just the parent that wants the kid to get a job and the kid is opposed to the idea, the kid is at least owed an explanation as to why, and it should be made clear what the benefits are and if the kid is still opposed then it shouldn't be forced onto them.

The comparing one hurts me so much. Everytime I get my grades they always compare me to my sister. So what? Yeah I know she's smart and I'm stupid. But it doesn't give you a reason to compare me. Every. Time. Because once you've compared me to someone it just adds to my insecurities, and I just end up wanting to change myself because of that, thinking I'm never enough..

A LOT if your parent has his life put together, earns and supports you well, while being healthy and taking care of himself too. From the first parent you can't expect wisdom with age, from the second...that's that kind when they die and you are all grown up and you do have it all together, still you look at their picture and knowing that you lost your best friend and free life coach forever makes it feel all hurt and pain, because they were through your growing pains but didn't live long enough to see you're ok, doing well and you can never return the favor and say thank you. A Grownup person takes about 50 000 decisions everyday..some of them have extrem mental balast (mothers esp.) try to make living easier for each other. By not being demanding little narcissist.

My parents didn’t let me go out because they were really paranoid. Now they’re always asking me why I don’t go out and why I’m unhappy with the current people I surround myself with and the current state of my life 💀
When I was like 5 my mom used to lock the door and hide the keys so I wouldnt go out (we was living in a place where gypsys were a lot and I can reason that but is too much) and I didnt knew how to play football till year 7 (from pe classes I learned and my father was in uk trying his best for a better life for us, my home country is turkey) I didnt enjoyed football and I felt left out by everyone in my school and when I moved to uk with my parents O had so much social anxiety and shyness but Im about to turn 18 now and I saved up for a nice car, I have a dream girlfriend and tons of frienda. Lucky me I could change, but there are people who arent fortunate as me.
Also she was forcing me to go out when we moved to uk like and I didnt wanted to all I wanted was play video games (till my 16.5s and then I think maturity hit me and I changed a lot like my appereance everything.)
The most annoying this is when they call your name while you're in your room but after you say "what?" They never reply so you have to get up and go outside for it.

Like if they would jump for fun down into the water then there’s no danger, but if there wasn’t any water I’d still jump, either to save them by using my body as a shield to lessen the impact at the bottom or to die together.

My mother has never used that and has a no hypocrisy tolerance she hold herself accountable too and she raised us better than most kids I see where the parents are lazy, like "hey I wanna go to the doctor to ask about something I'm worried about" "Stop self diagnosing" "Hey can you help me with the school work your mad at me for not knowing how to do" "Pfft, no" Plus not to mention when they say " don't do this" and immediately do it or their child makes a point and instead of acknowledging it and responding like a mature person they go to insults and shit. And they think taking our devices away will magically change our behavior. My mom says i need to stop using my phone so much, but she WALKS DOWN THE STAIRS with her eyes glued to HER phone screen. Even when she goes outside SHES LOOKING AT HER PHONE. Even MY DAD has told her to not be on her phone so much. Even when shes driving she’ll have her phone on her lap and she’ll be looking at it. And NOBODY believes me when i say that she drives while looking at her phone, so i literally took a video and picture for proof that she does. And whenever I ask “why?” my parents use the “bEcAuSe I sAiD sO” or “JuSt bEcAuSe” and whenever I ask them for a *VALID* reason they just say the same thing. And whenever my mom is in the wrong in an argument she’ll just start making up the most *INVALID* points.
It's also the same thing where you set your phone down FOR LITERALLY LIKE 5 SECONDS and one of your parents gets up and checks your phone LIKE BRUH I RESPECT YOUR PRIVACY atleast do the same for us. This happened when I got up for a glass of water, and mom went thru my history and I was like "bro stop I don't want you being nosy or smth" and she just changes the subject instantly like she didn't do anything.
Ok that might just be them telling you to do it before you forget. I suggest that when your parents tell you to do your homework, you just do it, it’s much better you Finnish early and your parents don’t bother you. Unless the conversation goes like, Parents: You have homework? You: Yes but I’ll do it later Parents: I guess you’ll flunk Then yeah I guess that would be pretty annoying.
It’s to let you know that procrastination can eventually lead to something like that if it’s not under control. You might not realize it now, but it can happen.

I'm a parent and I approve of this message. Absolutely. Respect goes a long way. A therapist told me years ago "if we treated our friends like we treat our children. We'd have no friends ". That really stuck with me
And my parents treat me like a friend 😌 it's honestly amazing! They respect me and give me privacy! I have decent grades (by the end of the year) and they don't compare me to other kids.
