Things That Bother Me As A Reader! 

I used to relate to not wanting my books being anything but brand new looking. But now I love finding used paperback books that are broken in. It gives them personality and shows that they have a history. Of course, there is a line you can cross of too broken in. I don't mind wrinkles in spins. It is expected when you buy mostly used books. However, I used to be really careful about "hurting" my books and I can still be like that with any brand new ones I buy. I've written and highlighted two books and while I don't mind doing so, I never think to do it while I am reading. I really love bookmarks and I collect them. They are all in a cup on my bookshelf. I'm sure I've lost many though. Thanks for sharing your video.

Haha this list made me remember I had a stack of bookmarks 🔖 I haven’t used in ages! I too am not fond of ebooks. I like the smell of physical books. I stopped loaning out books. People will never take care of your books as you would no matter how bookish they say they are. We have many similar pet peeves.

Oh my goodness, matte covers! My Prince Lestat book was tagged from the beginning because of the matte finish and Target PUT THE PRICE TAG ON IT. [flails and dies] I don't know about you, but I can't abide a sticker on my book covers, so I tried to remove it, and now there's this awful residue. Ugh! Also, your husband and I are the same when it comes to paperbacks. There's nothing I love more than literally cracking open a new paperback to begin reading. 😉🙃

I'm the same with paperbacks. I shop a lot on book outlet and REFUSE to buy a book (even if I've been dying to have it and its dirt cheap!) If it doesn't come in hardcover!

I lose bookmarks all the time too so I just gave up 😩😂 I also don’t like writing in books either. I just feel like that messes it up especially if I wind up unhauling.

This is a great video. I'm publishing in Dec and will make sure I use a glossy cover and offer a hardback version. I always thought people didn't buy hardback a because of the extra cost. Great video.

You ever read Pillow Thoughts? The cover attracts fingerprints like chlorine attracts sodium. x_x

I'm okay with ebooks, depending on the story. It gives me something to read on the go. However, I still prefer actual books to ebooks.

I agree, someone took a screenshot of a book, circled a part that outraged her.. and she said so.. calling out the author... IMO that was plain rude.
