For the moment, I'm through with my Chapin addiction - Now I'm taking the Dawson-dive: Rudimental ritual and the eight triplet ways with syncopation. Material for years! Looking at these seemingly easy rythms, but playing all this other stuff. Very challenging, but in a good way! Also started the book from page 37/38. I wonder if i'll ever turn the page :D Thanks for your great playing and the motivation!
I think out of books that helps very much to play at different speeds patterns never used in a song and is like to going straight to headache as LKRRLLKLKKRLL and combinations you can easily find if you're a bit open minded person.Take care man, great vid!!

Yes, his systems were awesome. My favorite exponent of Alan's playing, besides Alan Dawson himself, is Roy Haynes. A lot of people mention Tony and Vinnie, but to my ear Haynes is the closest to Alan's sound. Just beautiful.
