Things That Might Save Your Life Other Than Loud Pipes 

After seeing Ryan F9's video on the subject and having some close calls with car drivers, I was thinking about this topic of do loud pipes save lives and is there other effective means of being noticed by car drivers?
I think taking a page from car OEM's which have moved to day time running lights and for some manufacturers it is even several DRLs, I thought more lights on bikes is probably one of the best ways to be noticed.
