“Are you a professional?” To anyone with their own equipment and a jersey. “My lenses are too foggy.” “Let’s go play out in the pouring rain.” “My gun won’t shoot.” “Can we play with just the people we know and no strangers?” “No, we aren’t high/drunk. Promise.”
Literally got the first one from an 11-year old after simply buying my own gun and bringing it to the field with a nice KB mask, I just got into paintball myself 😂
I've been working as a referee at a paintball field for over a year-and-a-half and I have heard all of this come from our new players so many times, y'all hit the nail right on the head haha
Honestly I’ve only been to paintball once, and everyone on the team was nice, and let me borrow their gear. I’ve only ever been that once and hope to go more.
@@collinbelshee3141 I've only had one REALLY bad experience with the sport across my years of playing it and even then the day prior to that moment was great!
*walks out with electronic gun* *tests shoots ten rounds before the game* *Rentals “oh can he be in our team” “Can we switch guns” “Can I see your gun”
Literally had this happen a couple weeks ago. I went with a buddy that had never played before, and he heard an electronic one going full auto cause they were doing maintenance on it and he went "Oh hell naw I'm not about to get shot by THAT" Lmao
"can we play against them" points at a group of 10 year olds "If someone does [this] I'm just gonna unload my whole hopper on them" "Stop f#$&ing shooting at me" while walking between a big firefight instead of going around "This barrel sucks, the paint just flies everywhere"
We once (over a decade ago) saw a box of 'paintballs' turn up at a local field that were somehow mislabelled at the factory they were produced at. They were ACTUALLY 'bath beads'. Those HURT when we got hit, LOL!
“When I get hit am I still in” “How do I put paint in this” “Why are we playing with pro’s” “Can we play with just us 4” “Do you provide food” I have to pay for paint” “Can I bring my dog on the field” “Can I get a better rental” “I’ve played so many video games when I was younger so watch out” “ if I should my teammate will he be out” “Damn it’s packed idk if I want to play” “Can I get a handicap” “Will you be playing with us” “Do the refs know how to play or do they know the rules” “Can I be team captain” I can go on all day long
I ref are at my local field and can confirm all of these But you missed two: is there “free for all”? & They see someone with their own equipment “oh they are a pro, I want to be on his team”
I knew the paint didn't stain however I did find out that if some of the shell makes it through the washer and into the dryer it can melt into your jeans. I have no idea if it will come out but I don't really care either way.
I played recreationally in my place and loves bringing new guys to enjoy the sport. Loved it when they started talking about being a sniper and shooting people out. After the 1st game, they'll be run out of breath running for their lives.
What kills me is the noobs that start going through people's stuff the moment they walk away. You go to cryo, you come back they're in your bag like little kids when Mom comes home for the grocery store. That would never be acceptable anywhere, but somehow because I have cool stuff they think they're allowed to just immediately go look through my things? I am proud of the fact that after I raised holy hell at my local indoor field, they now put that as part of their safety tutorial speech they give everyone that comes in when they're filling out their waiver. There's something in there about how if you get caught looking through somebody's bag you're probably going to get punched in the face, if you pick up some of these gear you most definitely going to get hit and don't forget police get involved, you are attempting to steal this property.
I remember a group we ran back in the day who actually fell and laid "dead" once they got shot. This was after listening to directions to go back to the staging area.
Just had a crew of about 8 guys walk on the field, horn is about to blow. "Where do we get the paint from?" Last year a kid with all new gear walks on the field without any pods. Shoots the entire hopper into a bunker before the match starts. "Hey man, can I get some paint, I'm out."
My list of personal favorites: 1.) "I don't even need to ramp I shoot that fast in semi" 2.) Yelling out speed ball terms in a woods or rec ball game - "He's behind the dorito!" as you're battling amongst wood pallets and trees. 3.) "Dude this mask said it was antifog....it's not....for real it's not". 4.) "How many mags can I carry with this?" 5.) "I don't need to be fast I'll just shoot a lot and pin them down" 6.) Shows up with a hoodie, basketball shorts, and fashion running shoes. 7.) Yelling out things like "reload, mag change/check, danger close" any other videogame jargon that has no application to paintball. 8.) "Dude I used to play with a pro team...seriously I know guys on Dynasty we grew up together...seriously..." 9.) "DUDE I SHOT YOU GET OUT" 10.) *my favorite* Steals parent's credit card, drops $3K on best set up possible, then thinks they're amazing and proceeds to lose and get destroyed the entire day. Blames everyone and everything for why they suck.
@@killasjanitor When it makes sense for mil-sim stuff or you've been in the armed forces and it's subconscious I get that. When you have a 230 ball hopper you can dump a high cap pod into it makes zero sense.
How am i just finding this 😂. "the full auto" question is hands down my favorite. My buddies own the plex in laotto, when i help with private parties i always say "ok when your gun sounds like its full auto, it isn't i promise no one has a full auto gun... That unfortunately means you're probably outta air" 😂😂
Ahh damn! "Is my gun fully automatic?..Nah, you just ran out of air" yo with a Tipman I remember this happening back in the day. I had the warewithal to understand there must be a pressure issue keeping my marker from reseting the bolt.. The effect being you got a full auto for like 2 bursts if your lucky. And it's not like there was any travel distance so....;''D
"I only want to be on your team." to any player with their own gear. "How do I get the paintballs to curve around a bunker?" The Wanted Myth "I'm fast. I bet I can dodge the paintballs." The Matrix myth "I'm in ROTC. I'll be good at this." and "Is paintball like real combat?" "Can I shot the refs?" (No...Just no. no. no.) Tells their friends; "You go! I'll give you cover fire." ...and doesn't give cover fire. "I got them! I got them!" Shooting widely around the field at anything and everything - "Spray and Pray" "This camo is cool. No one is going to ever see me." "Can you eat paintballs? I dare you to eat one." "Can you shot people on your own team?" "Can I use a knife." (sigh....)
I know I’m late but this one’s worth telling. Nothing a noob said but what they did, so as they were in the range they just started shooting eachother I saw it and I was just so confused the refs didn’t see this so they got away
"Are you a professional" "Can I shoot my own team" "I want a machine gun" "I want a sniper" Seen a kid throw a smoke grenade on a turf speedball field with balloon bunkers. Played with players who was only wear shorts and shoes.
One day while reffing I had someone ask me, “why do we have to wear these masks? Does it hurt more if we don’t?” I did not think I would have to explain that if a paintball hits ur eyes going roughly 200 mph you could lose an eye.
“Can I get a machine gun?” “I know there’s no air but it wont shoot..... ohhhhhhhh” “No may is that a sniper rifle?” Me: *stares at my speedball gun with long barrel* “sure it is.....” “Does it hurt” “Can I freeze them?!” “Ya I play a lot of fortnite and COD I’m really good at this”*gets shot within the first min*
@@SORBETVM the geo 4 does not have the same bolt as the etha 2. The etha, emek, gtek, 160r, 170r, and CS2 all have the gamma core bolt system, the geo 4 has the IV core which has a softer more "airy" shot, similar to an older luxe or dye dsr whereas the gamma core is firmer and more comparable to a new luxe
Jokes about "balls". As much as these never totally stop (or stop being funny) at any level. New players tend to make them a lot more frequently, lol. But a recent one I heard from some kid who had never played was "do you think a paintball crossbow would work"? Like, probably, but why?
Just bought my first real paintball gun from you guys, it’s not the best one and is probably the worst because it was on sale for 40. Its a Valken Razorback, and I’m looking forward to it.
I used to shoot an Emag. I can't tell you how many noobs asked me about the "clip" on my gun. They were pointing at the battery. It was funny the first dozen times.
YES ima be honest i just got into this only been once but im addicted my uncle got me into it when he was younger he was on a team so him and me are gonna for a 3 man with my dad and all that but my god the things i heard new guys say as a new guy was dumb lol i came from airsoft but knew they were different it was awesome
every time I go to the paintball field, I hear at least on guy saying, "how can I make this gun go full auto." I have to tell like 5 new people that they cannot do that it is hilarious.
Cheap unregulated masks from Temu or unofficial sites will shatter, please watch a review on your mask or mag dump into it in a safe area just to be sure 👍
