Travel with us to the Sunshine Coast of BC Canada and explore Gibsons! This video features BC Ferries, Gibsons, Davis Bay, Sechelt and the Sleepy Hollow Rod Run
I was born and raised in Gibson’s and for years They had two ferries running. Everything was so smooth nowadays it’s a nightmare better to go somewhere else on the mainland save yourself the aggravation of waiting and waiting. Bruno’s name in the show was Nick Adonodis
Ah yes - Nick Adonodis! Yeah it will continue to get busier. Definitely a battle between wanting more tourists for the economy and a desire to keep things the same
Thanks for sharing. I work in chilliwack and see your car from time to time. My wife and I are heading to Gibsons for a few nights. I’ve driven through it for work but never explored. Cheers.
Nice Camaro, Sleepy Hollow Rod Run is one of my favourite events here on the coast .two of my neighbours participate, one with a 66 Valiant, and another with a 70 396 Chevelle SS. Smoke on the Water is owned by my friend Chris, you can get awesome food there, Ribs, Brisket, Fish Tacos and more. The float home with all the foliage is owned by Annette, a long time resident here. My boat is next to the two story float home owned by Coleen. The gospel rock lookout is two blocks from my House. Retired here in 2012, House on the Bluff, boat in the Harbour, life is magic here.
Hi from New Zealand ' I've got a '66 Valiant 'but our '66's are more like your '65's ' but the front end is more akin to a '64 Barracuda . My father had one in the seventies ' I had one as my first car in 1981 ' and now another one' all 225 slant's 'I've also owned a '67 valiant ' they are like your '66's. I've also got my Dad's old '71 Valiant 'which is nothing like your '71 model 'it sort of looks like a combination of Cuda and Charger. That concludes my downunder mopars lesson.👍
@@destinationunknowntravel8157 yes' in about 1974 ' a guy that lived down the road from me had a 73 or 74 Challenger 'banana yellow ' black vinyl roof 'black interior 'I dont know what engine size ' I know the grille isn't so nice on that model ' but to 10 year old me I was blown away at how beautiful it was 'I took a lot of casual walks past it . Later on in 1980 a young guy that I worked with bought a maroon 1970 Challenger with a 318 ci motor for the outrageous sum of $9995 'a lot of money for an old car 'at around the same time a car yard had for sale a beautiful condition 56 Chevy 4 door 'asking $4500 ' I was drooling over it ' but it was too much money for a sixteen year old making $108 a week ' but I did have a Valiant and a Yamaha TT500. Neither of those Challenger owners looked after their cars ' both ending up in pretty rough condition' probably been restored by now though.
@@barrycuda3769 My brother had a dark green '73. Totally fell in love with that one and couldn't believe he would sell it! But he rarely had a car longer than 4 months - always moving onto something else.
What a beautiful place' I'm wondering what the climate is like there ' obviously lovely summer weather 'but how long does the summery weather last for ? 'How cold in winter? .I'v just been watching several episodes of The Beachcombers.
That show is classic! Gibsons is right on the water so that has a huge influence on the weather. Typically, that means that both the summers and winters are mild - not too hot and not too cold! January/February would be the times for snow if it comes at all. Expect to see crocuses and daffodils in bloom by mid February! South west BC is known as a rain forest so spring is usually quite wet and mid October is still fairly warm.
@@destinationunknowntravel8157 sounds ideal ' as for plants that grow there ' I noticed in the video ' a variety of palm tree 'which would indicate a mild climate . Thank's from New Zealand.
I've lived in the Gibsons area for many years. Climate is mild year-round with lots of rain and occasional snow in winter. Summers are usually sunny and dry, usually with watering restrictions.
It's funny because I didn't even think of getting a reservation! When I looked, the earliest reservation was Friday at 10pm (thus missing the car cruise) so we had to come a day early. Then to have 3 cancellations was just nuts!
It's a beautiful place no parking , Million dollar homes, No rentals, Constant water problems don't flush your toilet, Highway to nowhere, Cycling paths to nowhere, Walking paths to nowhere, Oh and again don't flush your toilet
