Famous for its resorts and ayurvedic massage centre, Kovalam is a coastal town located around 13 km from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. The largest beach in Kovalam is the lighthouse beach that features a 30-metre tall lighthouse. The other two adjacent beaches are Samudra beach and Hawa beach. All these three beaches are crescent-shaped shallow water and low tidal beaches.
Earlier a fishing village, Kovalam started attracting tourists in the 1930s and shot to fame in the hippie era of 1970s. It still sees the influx of tourists from Israel and Europe.
Ayurvedic treatments and massages are one of its most popular indulgences along with yoga, meditation as well as other cultural activities. Kovalam perhaps comes full circle as it is also a shopping destination given the rich spices, wooden statues and handicrafts that can make popular takeaways.

@@aamyatri 250/- is a good amount for a drone shot but I think sometimes you don't look at money. I recently visited to a shiva temple at pokhara, Nepal which has one of the biggest statue, if you ever visit there, don't miss it. Drone shots are free there:)

Bro there is no public transport as far I know, you have to take autoriksha, it will take somewhere around 350/- to and fro

Followed this vlog...hired Rashid to show us around ..he is superb .he did mention he gets a lot of call post this video. The shiva temple is mind-blowing. Food - eat only fish... Otherwise the food is ok ..

Hi Hemant, yes i went through mangroves during boat ride, the water and surrounding was very dirty, I recorded it but didn’t put it in the video because of time constraints, if you are coming from Alleppey or Munroe then your expectations are very high, but if i directly go to Poovar without experiencing Alleppey or Munroe and see backwaters there then it might seems good. We went here first. Not a good experience at all. Except the Shiva temple, nothing else was good. But thanks for giving honest reviews about places, which saved us from Puvar backwaters ride. One small suggestion is while reviewing places to eat, can you please also specify for vegetarian options, if any at that place. For example, the Beatles Cafe had horrible food for us as vegetarians.

Brother, whenever you see "zh" anywhere in Kerala or Tamil Nadu, it is not pronounced like how we literally pronounce them as the zzzzhhh sound. It is more like "ल" sound with a twist of tongue. I hope this helps.

Hi Naveen, Hotels those are right on the beach are not good, they are very basic and you can book those right there when you reach there, but if go for hotels that are minute away from beach then You can search Little Elephant Beach Resort, Maharaju Palace or around these,these are good hotels with good reviews, if you looking for luxury then you can search for Rockholm.
