I gave them out with Halloween candy last year.❤ I didn't force the children to take them but some kids were delighted to receive them with their treats.❤

Love this idea but I would hate for them to end up in the trash since so many people are not Christian, but on the other hand perhaps 1 child would cherish it and keep it.

Love this topic! Just recently when I went to confession the priest gave me a holy card. Later at home I was appreciating that it was laminated. Then I remembered - I have a laminator! I had bought it years ago and forgot I had it. So I got it out and laminated all my holy cards! Oh my goodness! It makes such a difference! No longer do I have to handle them gently for fear of damaging them. I now look at them more frequently, going through them with the enthusiasm of a 12-year-old boy sorting through his baseball cards! haha. They also make much better presents when they are laminated. I donated several to a parish religious items sale. Also, I now laminate other things such as Mass cards I get for free in the mail - if there is a pretty image or prayer on the card, I laminate that part. On some of these Mass cards I then put a magnetic strip on the back and put it on my refrigerator. So pretty! I HIGHLY recommend getting a laminator if you don't have one. It will be well worth the investment. If you get one, be sure to get one that handles 5 mil laminating sheets!

Such a great idea- thanks for sharing! We have used clear shelf paper and even regular clear packing tape to "laminate" our cards, but having a real laminator would be awesome :)

Great ideas! My mother who was about to turn 94 passed away July 21. She collected holy cards and must have about 600 all together. I want to make good use of these. Thank you for all the good ideas.

In their particular month I put them out in our altar, I put them all in display in Thanksgiving on All Saints Day. Funeral ones I display them on the altar on All Souls day. I use them as bookmarks. I display them in my work desk when praying for a particular grace and saint. Great ideas here!

For Christmas I make a Mary and Child tree with all the cards. I place them all around the tree with the ornaments… I love it!!!

Love these ideas! Your Lady of Guadalupe Holy Card is beautiful! ❤I recently made a prayer journal for a friend and made a pocket in the front, and placed three Holy Cards inside. This winter I plan on making a prayer journal for myself, using a Travelers Notebook, and plan to have an insert in it, where I keep my favorite Holy Cards that will be similar to the album you shared. :)

This is something I did with someone at Church. I loved doing this but it's also something fun for the kids. We used both holy cards and religious Christmas and Easter Cards. The people in church helped collect them for us. The person I did this with was able to cut the wood to the size of the Holy card or greeting card. Since he has now passed, I have to buy unpainted wood on Amazon or Walmarts. I usually paint the wood either brown or gold. Glue the picture on to the woodmaking sure both the back of the picture and wood have glue. Smooth it to make sure there are no bubbles. You can also buy an inexpensive small roller in the craft store. Once dry, make a mixture half glue and half water (or you can use mod podge). Apply it several times and it will give a nice finish. We used to give them to Eucharistic Ministers for the homebound, nursing homes, prisons, schools, religious programs, charity sales etc. I hope my directions made sense. I enjoy making them!

I send them in military care packages, and I put them in books I donate to the thrift store, too. I have a few special ones in small frames. They can be left in public restrooms and waiting rooms. I love the casket idea. ♡ Holy cards are the best bookmarks. I have a stack of funeral Mass cards that are rubberbanded in my prayer book and I pray for these Holy Souls before Mass. Some of them are from strangers that I found randomly, but I figure I found their cards for a reason. Great topic!

Thank you for your wonderful ideas! Your channel is always an inspiration to me. When I attended Cursillo ten years ago, many people gave me prayer cards, and I have collected them ever since. I keep them in an album, use them as bookmarks, and place some of them on my home altar and rotate them in and out. It seems like every religious order has sent me a prayer card. That's a great way to collect beautiful and prayerful cards at no cost!

I put prayer cards inside of books/bibles using the tip in method. Meaning, I washi tape the left side of the holy card in the book or Bible and then turn it to the left to say the prayer.

I don't have a lot of holy cards. I've ordered some online because I don't have much access to holy cards, and yesterday I received some holy cards as a gift after my confirmation and first communion (I'm a fresh convert😃). Those that I've have previously ordered online I keep at my home altar (one shelf dedicated for this use) in a frame (a bit like in your collage) that has transparent backside, so that I can easily flip the frame to see the prayers. At my home altar I also have a little box for other holy cards that was actually empty prior to yesterday.

Welcome home to the Church! We love your idea of using a frame with a transparent back- very clever :) Living in an area without many Catholics is a challenge (we live in the South here in the US, where people frequently start their own churches according to their own ideas and beliefs). We will ask the Blessed Mother to send more holy cards your way- she will be delighted to assist!

I’m surprised that you didn’t say to just leave some in the adoration chapel! I LOVE when I go to an Adoration Chapel and find little gifts that people have left - I’ve seen books, holy cards, rosaries - obviously, I’m not the only one because they’re never there for very long.

I have put some on a large frame that has chicken wire going across it in rows with clips. That way I can see the front and turn it over and see the back with the prayers.

Amazon sells 4x6 photo albums. (I bought a bunch at AC Moore when it still was around.) Each pocket holds two cards with a plastic sheet in between, so you'll have to remove a holy card to read the back. In addition, index cards can be decorated and added among the cards to make sort of a scripture journal. Album prices vary, so you should look through the selection and read the reviews. Amazon also sells plastic sleeves.

Our Church has a basket for religious item donations so I put them there. I also use them as bookmarks. I also insert them in greeting cards.

I don't have that many, but most of them are in my Bible and 3 pieces (2 given to me by my wife, both with a relic and 1 bought in Lourdes) with my car papers. Good idea, a self-designed card holder, I'll see if I can design something like that too.

Thank you for this video! Great ideas. I have several of them on a ring, but i kind of regret punching holes in them. I have a beautiful box with nothing in it (it originally held a coffee mug) that says "All is Well With My Soul" (my favorite hymn). Im going to put my cards in there. ❤
