Yes, there are a plethora of things that can be used as insoluble fiber. Psyllium husk and slippery elm may seem "pricy" at the time of purchase but will last years. Pumpkin seeds should also be soaked beforehand to remove the phytic acid.

Kibble and raw digest totally differently and shouldn't be mixed together.. One of my female's had the "pukes" for about a week once I had her on raw for a few weeks.. It was because her stomach was adjusting & her stomach acid was dropping to it's more natural / acidic PH... They need stronger stomach acid to properly acid wash & break down meats.. Once they adjust though , they do MUCH better!

@@camywolf8193 No problem ! It's a totally normal thing for a dog that's been eating kibbles.. Takes them a bit to totally adjust & be able to handle the stronger stomach acid.. I've found, it's also a bit worse if the dog's fed at the SAME time daily... Their body adjusts to that schedule and about an hour before feeding , their stomach will start prepping for the meal. Which can cause "hunger pukes" from the acid building up.. I feed my dog's at random time's to avoid that. But you can also just give more treats or snacks throughout the day to avoid it..

Anything green in the meal? Green veggies? Green tripe? Spirulina/chlorella?

@@PawsofPrey Boiled sayote (a local veggie) is the only green veggie I'm feeding. Aside from that, no other green in the meal. It only happens sometimes tho. The last time, his poop turned green, my suspect was the boiled pork spleen. When I removed the pork spleen for two days, the poop turned out good in terms of color. With that, I never fed him boiled pork spleen since then and now trying other organs in the meal. But the challenge is real, he is now hesitant in his raw meal most mornings. Ahhh! Transitioning is really challenging, but I'm letting my dog dictate the pace. Thank for your reply! Much appreciated! :)

I can be. It depends on the dog and there needs and if there system can handle it.

Yes u can actually, the whole pH thing in the stomach doesn’t work like that. But do introduce it slowly and see how your dog reacts. Some dogs do fine some dont.

My doggy was actually on kibble with raw. There is a few brand’s that have kibble and raw. Just be careful and make sure you wash your hands very well when handling the raw. We no longer feed her any raw. We do a soft dog food and give her cooked chicken breast at night. My vet is actually so against raw. The vet made a good point. Cats and Dogs are no longer in the wild and they have been domesticated for centuries. My doggy had such a horrible experience with the raw food in the kibble. She had loose stools all the time. We had to give her boiled chicken and rice and then when her stools were normal we started adding a little bit of soft food. Not soft food in a can but, soft kibble. We were told never do a soft food in a can or pouch etc. nothing like Cesar dog food but, we use purina in a plastic bag but, comes in a box. My vet is not a fan of the new designer dog food’s like Rachel Ray and the new ones that have raw in them. They are not out in the wilderness hunting for food. So they are perfectly fine on a kibble diet. We add boiled chicken at night. Also I am just letting people know that never ever buy treats that have rawhide in them. I have seen too many time’s in Dog’s that ate rawhide and had to have a surgery bc it hurt the dog’s belly. I think anything that you do for your your fur babies you get your Vet’s advice. Even more then one and do your research. This young lady is a wealth of knowledge and raw food works for her fur babies. You have to make sure they are getting all the nutrients that they would need

@@christinaweinmangeriatrics1689 if that works for you, then so be it. But for some animals like cats and ferrets, haven't been domesticated long. Ferrets only a few thousand years and cats only half the time as dogs. But either way, I can somewhat agree to this. But please don't recommend kibble for everyone. Every pet is different and everyone should respect that.

Actually my dog has so much diahrea on kibble. Once I switched him he never had an upset stomach again. He can eat ANYTHING and doesn't get diahrea. With kibble he would have diahrea if he had a bite of anything. Else and from most treats. His poor intestine were probably so inflamed

@@wildog47 well kibble does damage their microbiome in their gut. It's not species appropriate they were not meant to eat pebbles. It makes sense.

@@wildog47 dogs are being forced to eat kibble I promise they don't want it. Companies have to put additives in it to make it more appealing to them otherwise dogs wouldn't go near it.

@@bretrandolph7419 oh he won't eat it anymore. Lol. When I dogsit a dog that eats kibble and they leave some behind he sniffs it and walks away. He loves his raw

@@queenvic83 I never said that it was because of the food. The dog had some problems and the past owner didn't train him at all. He was a year old and was fed kibble. When I met the dog, everything was fine. But when we got home, everything changed. He attacked other dogs, jumped on people, howled and barked and pooped and peed everywhere. It wasn't good but we gave him 2 months and nothing changed. His diet did but not his behavior.
