Ragdolls are the dogs of the cat world. They need so much attention and love and never leave you alone. Great for those of us who always wanted a dog but could not get one.
I disagree. Maine Coons are the dogs of the cat world. My Maine Coons love dogs - make friends with my neighbor’s Pit Bulls and Terriers - and the delivery folks. My Ragdoll is most loyal - follows me everywhere I go. She loves curling up around my feet.
I’d also say Maine Coons and Norwegian Forest Cats also deserve the same title because of their social nature and large dog-like size, but Ragdolls are also fitting for that title.
I have a ragdoll as an emotional support animal! His name is Mr. Wonton Caesar Salad 😅 they are amazing ESA’s, would absolutely recommend them to anyone for an ESA. Super fluffy and cuddly, always make you laugh because of their personalities!
My cat isn't a purebred ragdoll, but she shares many of the traits they have and she has vastly improved my mental health. Petting her and having her lay on top of me helps me control my anxiety, and in general feeling so loved by such a perfect little creature helps me immensely with my depression and even gets me through rough times when I'm having social problems due to PTSD. I get why you may want to get a purebred, but for the sake of the kitties (and your wallet lol, they are hella pricey) it might be beneficial to check out your local shelter first and meet some of the cats they have. I've met many cats who share the main ragdoll traits but had come from the streets where they could have all kinds of genetics. I hope you have the best of luck with any furry baby you get and your anxiety levels improve
I live in Europe, Romania and never heard of someone having 4 ragdolls. Are they little kittens? Because I would love to buy one little furry friend for me and my wife.
@@aniab4306 Male cats tend to be more friendly and sociable with people. That's not to say you can't have a female this way, it's just more predominate in male cats. Best of luck to you. Ragdoll cats are wonderful.
@@marioparaschiv1759 No, Ragdoll cats range from medium to HUGE like Maine Coons. Four is a lot to take care of unless they are indoor/outdoor cats...which is not recommended. I had one that was indoor/outdoor for twenty years. You can do it, but it's not recommended. Especially since many people know the cost of the cat, people will steal them, and Ragdoll cats are so easy going, they usually won't resist getting picked up and taken.
They sell for 1.5k - 2.5k each though, my family found a stray one so we got lucky. If your struggling to get your place you should srsly consider other breed options.
its good that you got more than 1, i've found that cats tend to be better emotionally when there's another cat around usually a sibling. If you're not around, at least they got each other to keep busy.
A few things mentioned here...I am a breeder of 20 years. We do NOT test each kitten we Test the Parents we intend to breed so as to not pass a positive HCM gentically. If familes are concerned they may test thir own cats with a mail in swob from swipes inside their cheeks to a few different Labs. The pattern in the video for a pinted ragdoll was a mitted NOT pointed.Pointed have solid face color as well as solid leg coloring.Feeding raw is also optonal. There are many types of high grade food on the market these days. Its also true if you get one ragdoll you will most likey get a 2nd.They do not have to be gotten together but will enjoy each other when ever you at the 2nd one.In my Opinion $3500 if to much for a Pet Ragdoll even of perfect markings.$1500 to $2200 if fair.
Hey Sandra thanks for clarifying the HCM and pointed piece! I agree a pet quality ragdoll is definitely on the lower end of the range. The range I included is to account for catteries in high cost of living areas and also I found that for most catteries that have produced a lot of champions, $3,500 price is the average price for a show quality cat from their program. Hope that helps!
Hi Sandy! Thanks for replying before I did. You’re absolutely correct, I don’t test kittens either, only breeding cats. Many Ragdoll breeders are no longer testing for HCM. As for prices, seems like the responsible RD breeders here in Southern California are charging $2800-$3500 for the cats. I don’t have a separate price for show quality. All I end up with is angry parents if the cat doesn’t like to show.
@@sharonshulby2445 crazy we place our pets for 1800-2000 as long as they are within 1-7 hours from us.Thats crazy not testing unless they are a 2nd or more gen!
@@sandywuerch yes, that's true, and all of them are. You know how we breeders are so picky about where our breeding cats go. And there's usually a "take back cat" from the original lineage.
No one can beat Hazel, Spoonful of Ragdolls, with her 11 Ragdolls! I know she has her daughter and husband, but Hazel does most of work and gets scolded by 11 Ragdolls who will not leave the front door if she goes out shopping, and then they walk away and ignore her. LOL Their full coloring takes 3 years so the identical quints (the Five Gs) are not quite as identical as when they were born and started coloring. And another thing about Ragdolls is that they might hate cats and want to be left alone. Manon is a cat who hates cats. So, technically, there are 10 Ragdolls and whatever Manon thinks she is! LOL Your tutorial is very well done. You covered all the tops points, esp the actual cost! People don't like to discuss money.
@@aniab4306 Fixed male and female is best. While Ragdoll cats get along very well, in general there is more tension is you get two animals of the same gender. Same gender cats can cause territorial problems with locations and people. Ragdoll cats don't usually have this issue, but they are still cats and why take the chance?
A few months ago my mom got me a bi colour ragdoll kitten for my birthday, since i always talked about how much i wanted one. We named her mabel and she is so sweet. She follows me around the house and has such a unique personality. Often she meows at me for attention and jumps on my lap if she wants to be pet
For anyone looking to get a ragdoll cat, make sure the breeder does a good job socializing their kittens. I got a couple Ragdolls from a breeder that didn't socialize them, and while they have warmed up to me and my husband, they aren't super affectionate and are afraid of other people.
I have a red but colour ragdoll and he’s my pride and joy. But be aware that all cats are different so every ragdoll will not display all of these traits. He’s the most affectionate cat I’ve ever seen, I often wake up to him cuddling into my face. However, he’s not docile, if he’s made to do something he doesn’t want to do e.g. vets, trimming nails, picked up, brushing; he’ll bite and scratch like other breeds; he’s a little rough with our new rescue adult cat who is half his size; he gets on with the family dog but it took some work; he bounces around the house when he’s playful; he misses us when we leave but isn’t reliant on us. Point is that cats are complex animals with thoughts and feelings, you can’t just breed out all the bits you don’t like - so don’t be disappointed if you get a ragdoll and they don’t check every single box, be ready for scratching, biting, misbehaving but also a new best friend :)
I loved my rag doll he was the best! I unfortunately lost him this year at the age of 3 due to a sickness didn’t realize how amazing it was to have him. I hope more people see this as a great breed to have even with dogs!
Well done! I'm a TICA registered Ragdoll breeder. I loved the video and the commentary. Thanks for making the effort. One thing I thought about that I'm not sure you'd want to include: I have a male from one line and a female from another line. The female (Sybilla) (pronounced si-BILL-uh) comes very directly from the original Anna Baker lines. I have noticed some differences in her personality. For one thing, when I pick her up, she doesn't flop but instead watches the world with avid interest. She loves to be picked up, but it's for adventure, not cuddling. She's also an excellent huntress. Otherwise, she is precisely the kind of cat you describe in your video. Thanks!
Hey Sheila thanks for sharing! It’s awesome you were able to get one of the original Anna Baker lines. And appreciate you helping all the families get beautiful Ragdolls! You help bring so many smiles to so many families :)
Nine year ragdoll cat owner here. Not all of them like to be picked up. All cats are individuals. Mine follows me around yowling. If I still on the couch and I’m not petting it, it scratches at me. It’s super chill, very low-key and not paranoid at all like the rescue cat that we have. Sleep on the bed with me every night and is truly a gorgeous looking animal
OMG that little flip your cat did to play with its companion at around 4:33 was friggin hilarious and so dang cute! It did a summer-salt onto its back to play with its companion. Such a cute and funny FLOP! Love Love LOVE it! 👍👍👍
aww thanks for the kind words! Yeah Arya likes to do these flops haha, she also likes to do twirls in the air randomly as well. You can see in first few minutes of this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sKRBgIkOvIo.html
I just got a little Seal Bi color Lynx Ragdoll kitten two weekends ago and I am leaving today to go get another one, both are 5 months old. But I can’t decide between two kittens. A Seal Mitted with a Blazed nose or a Blue mitted ragdoll. Both look so friggin beautiful that it has literally been one of the most stressful choices of my life. But I had two Lilac Point Balinese from the same litter that were best friends. The female died from diabetes complications and my male is devastated. Its been almost 6 months and he cries for her every day and searches the house incessantly. So we got him a new ragdoll to play with but he doesn’t seem interested. So he has maybe 4 years left so I figured id get another one for my new kitten to play with and I hope they play together like your cats! Thats how my two Balinese played together. But the funny thing was when they would play too hard and one would get mad and they would growl at each other, just for them to start grooming each other like mad.. Like one giant fluff salad lol.. Ive always been partial to the lighter colors in cats. The lilacs, blues, flames, fires and reds. But they are all gorgeous and its so hard to choose.
Oh that is a tough decision. I am leaning towards a blue mitted ragdoll from the google images I see. Thanks for sharing your comment. Loved reading every bit of it. I am just imagining your Balinese cats playing together. Must have been a beautiful site to see!
@@TheCatButler Yeah it was pretty funny how they would both squeeze into a spot or in a perch that was only meant for one cat. They looked uncomfortable but they would sleep there for hours. My cat Dyce (the male Balinese) was a runt and I didn’t plan on getting him when I chose my female but she adopted him as her own even though she was a kitten herself only two months older than he was. So my breeder said she couldn’t get rid of just one and had to sell them together since they both had such a strong bond. And I am SO glad I did. Their bond was so special and beautiful. It easy to see why Dyce is so devastated now. The always got along no matter the situation. Heck, in 14 years they only ever fought once and that was kind of my fault cause I was carrying Dyce and went by a perch that Isys was sleeping in and he reached out and sunk his claws into what he thought was the perch but was her thigh, because he didn’t know she was there and she got mad and chased him all around the house lol. But I just separated them for 30 minutes and when I opened the door they both flopped down in the doorway and started grooming each other. The funniest times were when they would be grooming each other and Dyce would start playing and biting Isys so she would do the same, they both would start making little growling noises and whacking each other in the face with their paws before they went back to grooming each other again. It was like WTF what that all about? LOL..
@@TheCatButler Oh and BTW, I decided on getting the Seal Mitted with the Blazed nose. Because my new kitten is a seal bi color lynx so they would compliment each other in color. Plus the blue mitted was more docile and my new kitten is very energetic. The Seal Mitted is very playful so that was also a deciding factor. So i am now typing to you from a hotel in North Florida waiting for my breeder to get here from Alabama. I can’t wait to have two gorgeous fluffy kitties to play with Dyce. Even if he just likes to watch. Plus my breeder made a suggestion. Because I was trying to get a cat that looked like my Lilac Point Balinese female I want only looking at Blue mitted and pointed Ragodolls. But she said in her experience that you shouldn’t try getting a cat that looks like your old one or else you’ll be comparing the two and it could lead to disappointment. So that was a factor in my choice. Oh, I probably should add that my breeder has such a big heart that after she heard my story about my grieving cat she decided to sell me a show quality kitten she was saving for a breeder friend of hers for a pet quality price. THEN when I called her two weeks later and told her I was thinking about getting another kitten to play with my new one until Dyce warmed up to them she once again pulled from her small stock of kittens she saves for other breeders that are all show quality kittens and sold it to me for pet quality. Another beautiful female. So I am now waiting with baited breath to meet my new gorgeous baby girl who will be here in two hours! YAY! 😃
Can confirm on ragdolls being good with other animals in the house and two cats being better than one. I got a ragdoll cat recently after my Ragdoll Mutt (From the street and had markings, behavior, and size exactly like a ragdoll) passed away early spring last year. I loved his personality and coloring and size so it was an easy decision. And I can say it was the right choice. I have a 10 year old female black cat named Athena. She likes having cat company, but isn't overtly friendly with other cats. I hoped the new kitten and Athena would at least be friendly.... But my new ragdoll managed to charm her more than any other cat, including my ragdoll mutt. I think it really helped that he was only a small kitten when he arrived, but he's got a tenaciously friendly and affectionate personality. I hope that their relationship grows more and more so that Athena becomes even more comfortable with him trying to invade her space. I'm just really glad that Athena has another little brother after her other brother died so suddenly.
I have a blue bi-color ragdoll female I got from my aunt a year ago. I have 3 domestic shorthair cats who are all seniors (two are litter mates that are now 15 and I have an 18 year old as well). To say she is the chillest cat is a major understatement, she gets along so well with my other cats from the very beginning and adjusted to our crazy cat household so well. I would 100% recommend a ragdoll, only downside for me is the hair 😂
I have found the hair issue to be specific to the particular Ragdoll. Some have less or little to no difference to a regular cat, while others I hear about shed profusely.
Your cats are beautiful and I like be the video! We got two red brothers in 2016, one bicolour and one mitted. The bicolour looked more like cream. Sadly, we lost him to kidney disease last year, he was only four (kidney disease usually occurs much later so it was complete shock when we found out). Thanks to new early screening tests, we were able to identify early changes in his brother. After putting him on a special diet, he is doing great. If you can get screening done, I recommend it. We have since adopted a 2yo seal mitted boy from the same breeder, and a blue mitted boy who just turned 1, all from very dedicated and ethnical breeders. They are awesome cats, each with very different personalities, the red boy is a smoochy trouble-maker, the seal boy is chatty, affectionate and just loves everyone, and the blue baby is a total maniac but super sweet 😊❤️
Hey thanks for sharing your personal story! They just recently got their blood work done with the new screening test for kidney disease. And it seems ok but they are only 1. Did the doctors say the kidney disease they think is genetic if it was that early? Your family seems very sweet and beautiful. A lot of love in the house!
Awwww I feel for your loss! I was given my 1st ever cat at the airport with the 'promise' that the lady would send me a kennel and $ when she got home to get her back. She was trying to sneak her on a plane, I was 'nominated' by those around the situation to temporarily take kitten. I didn't get the woman's info, though she had mine, i never heard back from the woman. The kitten was probably 4 wks old and was supposedly an orphaned stray, the vet I took her to said she was a Persian, which became more evident as she grew. Fast FWD 9 years, she got kidney disease, I was devastated. Over the years with Tons of $ in vet bills including a few rounds of sub-Q fluids, she passed away, much to my surprise she lived an awesome life to 18.5 years. I was so blessed. Her death was still very hard, so I definitely feel for you.
I recognize your story! We had 2 sisters (domestic short hairs) and we lost 1 last year due to sudden kidney failure, she was just 3,5 years old. A special diet for the other one and she’s good, thankfully. A few months later we got her a new friend 😊. It has made me a bit hyper alert on the cats well being, scared that i might lose them unexpectedly because they cannot tell me when they’re not feeling well.
ragdolls want to follow you around all the time - they think it’s their job to be with you at all times. Some snuggle - some don’t. Some love belly rubs. My Maine Coons insist on sleeping on my chest. My Ragdoll gets my Maine Coons to cool it and get to sleep by licking their faces
I had a Ragamuffin for a few years (think coyotes got her :c), similar to the Ragdoll breed genetically. Super sweet and would actually follow me on walks, meowing up a storm on the way out, but silent on the way back. Figured out near the end that she was saying "Come back, human! It's dangerous out there!". She was also surprisingly mechanically inclined for a barn cat. Learned how to open our windows, but lacked the strength to actually do so! I bet Ragdolls are just as awesome. :)
@@TheCatButler To be fair, a local stray had begun courting her, so who knows. She may have run off with him, returned home to her siblings at our neighbor's place, or been killed. I like to think she simply ran off and plans to come back one day. But after three months of searching every property around me (I live in the woods), I may never know. Maybe she moved in with the local cougar den infesting my other neighbor's property! XD
I certainly ❤️my ragdoll Felixxia. She's on a strict diet and so far so good as she became more active and she sleeps lesser now which is healthy for her.
J'aime la France! This is the little French I remember from school haha. I am glad you enjoyed the video! And thanks for sharing your story! Love the close bond between cat and dog :)
Lol my cat it’s not so fond of my dog. My dog is a big German shepherd puppy so my cat doesn’t like him much. My cat doesn’t HATE him but because my dog is so big and playful, my cat is like “ yeahhh no.” My poor puppy has been scratched so many times lol. He just wants to play 😅
@@Iluvcats2511 My dog is a big one too. It's a beauceron sheperd. It's funny to see her playing with the cat every day. It's a frantic pursuit. But it's each their turn ha ha ha
I’m getting a ragdoll kitten for my birthday in January and I’m so excited! This really helped because some of this I wasn’t aware of. Luckily I have another cat so when I’m at school, my older cat can watch over it and make sure its not lonely. ( I called the kitten an it because I don’t know the gender of the kitten I’m getting yet)
When I buy a house I'm buying a ragdoll. I love them. I'm going to name my Ragdoll Luna. I love the name. I commented because the irony your name is Luna also. That's cool.
I was searching for an appropriate name for my female seal-point lynx kitten. I eventually decided that since they're an offshoot of the Siamese breed, and Siam's the old name for Thailand (which is a primarily Buddhist society) I would call her Maya. Maya's was the name of the Buddha's mother, and I never could have believed at the time how perfect is would be for her! I broke up with my partner at the time - and there was never a question over who'd end up with our serene ball of fluff. Maya had clearly chosen me as her hooman, and rarely left my side. (As painful a decision as it must have been for Kam) Since then I've been through a few horrible relationships with highly narcissistic women, and recently lost my mother (who wasn't terribly nice herself, and left me with PTSD for abandonment as a child) and Maya's always been there to pull me through the hard times. I often find myself in tears thinking that I don't deserve her! She hates both my phone and PC, because they take some attention away from her. LOL! She's simply a gorgeous kitteh inside and out! Extremely devoted and caring, she's often fussing over me. (So much that I often call her chookie - because, well, mother hen!) She's _always_ by my side - or glaring at my phone and PC from s nearby chair because, well, already stated. The breeder once told me that I was to become a 'raggie slave' and she was SO right. Maya tries to do _everything_ with me. Being horribly afraid of water she also shows gorgeous bravery whenever I take a bath, and stands up on the side of it as if to say "are you sure you're all right?" I've had little real social interaction since my mother passed, and invested some of the inheritance on some things for Maya... A new cat fountain and automated feeder, I spread some "cat balls" (gall fruit) around my house, and got her a bunch of new toys. She's always walking up immediately after using them, as if to thank me for being so thoughtful. Her most gorgeous routine is that every night when I go to bed, Maya comes and 'asks' to be let under the covers. As soon as she can wriggle down underneath, she curls up pressed into the "little spoon" position and falls happily into a deep sleep. Amazingly she doesn't move a muscle until I get up the following morning, upon which she's extremely affectionate and loving. (After eating some nibbles) I can honestly say that the only downside I've found yet, is that Maya just recently turned 12, and it's started me thinking that she won't be with me forever. It's already the the source of deep regret, during which she always comes over to try "fix me" by licking me to death! I know that I'm going to be devastated beyond compare on losing her - I really don't know how I'll ever cope with it. I honestly wanted a dog, but so far she's been my life's best decision! She even stunned me when she started playing fetch as only a baby. As if simply instinctively knowing what I wanted, she'd 'kill' a toy mousie and trot over to place it proudly in my hand! If you're on the fence about getting a Ragdoll - just do it! Long after you've forgotten the costs involved, they'll still be giving you more daily laughs and affection than anything in the world - even a real hooman! It will undoubtedly take me a long time to get over the loss, but having watched a few of your videos and seeing how famously Teemo and Arya get along, I'm thinking that one day I might have to get a pair - just not until long after Maya has passed. I believe that learning to share me at a senior age will only repay all of the kindness she's shown me with breaking her heart... She's given me only the best of her (is there really a worst?) and deserves only the best of me in return!
I currently have two ragdolls and they follow all the characteristics except being held. I had two others in the past and they did liked to be held for short periods of time. Definitely people cats. Mine are always where I am .
@@TheCatButler I know right?! I actually didn't know that until I started really looking at him as he was growing. He was labeled by his breeder as a "Blue Bi-color" and his dad is just that but his mom is a Cream Bi-color and so he got the best of both worlds. I don't think the breeder realized what she sold me. He's very handsom! Or as my Friend said meeting him the other day, "whaaaat? He's rediculous !" 🤣
I have a ragdoll just to list a few things... Has a puppy mentality ✅️ Sometimes plays fetch ✅️ Horrible defence and hunting techniques ✅️ except she likes hunting flies and makes her bird call noise Always greets me when I walk through the door ✅️ My girl is also a gorgeous bicolour but I got her at a good price! The breeder didn't want to let her go so I was very lucky, her gorgeous blue eyes are so bright, reminds me on a clear ocean
I love my two (bro & sis) are the best. I love them so, so much! I'm an older man of 70 and these two cats were the greatest (and I have had cats my entire life)! The breed was perfect. They are curretnly 15 years old and you would not guess them as old cats.) I love them so, so much.
I also have a brother and sister and I never knew cats could be so docile, so sweet and loving. The ragdoll breed is quite amazing, they have so much love to give and they will never hurt you at all, you can literally do anything with them.
I don't have a ragdoll cat but i really like them. I have a siberian which kind of has a similar personality. This is also a great video for people who don't like cats.
I've have 2. One is not a lap cat one is. Buster is very loving, affectionate and so sweet. Buddy lets you rub his tummy but dosn't like to sit on you or get picked up. Their Maine isn't fully filled in until age five. They are known for heart problems. Buster lived 10 yrs. He was on heart meds for 2 yrs. Buddy has thyroid problems- he's 11. He's on special food. I've always had 2 cats - so their not lonely. Mine are excellent hunters. Their indoors but love to go outside with me in the nice weather on a leash. They catch moles and once a chipmunk just tied up and I let them go after they caught them. I'm getting a kitten to keep Buddy company in a couple weeks from a shelter. She is a tabby. I find they live much longer without all these health problems. I've had a couple live to
I have 1 ragdoll cat and she always likes meow at my one time when I was in the shower I saw her and she was meowing at me in the shower it was soooooo cuteeeee
do rag dolls like to cuddle? I am thinking about getting one for my anxiety because my friend has cats and if I’m ever anxious they always cheer me up.
excellent informative video I have a seal point and blue point Adrianna and Raphael. They are the most incredible animals and I love them so much. Everything you said was very useful. Love to your cars Alison (animal nurse) UK
I’m worried that they won’t be like that typical ragdoll cat cause I got them from a pet shop. She does go limp in the arms and like I said before, rubs up against you and nuzzles sometimes. But hoping it becomes more.
Ragdolls are decent breed, but shed a lot. I would say Turkish Angora who also have long haired but shed less because of single coat, is much easier to be taken care of
My family is thinking about getting one. I had a dog a few years ago and I lost it because my dad sold it. Even though he never paid. But that won’t be a problem if I get a pet again, and I’m thinking about getting a cute cat like a dog, so I can communicate with pets again and have a dog like cat! There SO cute 💕
While Ragdolls aren't great hunters (mine is clumsy, can't climb very well, and has a rather weak hunting instinct), they are still hunters. Mine killed 5 mice last summer while still a kitten over a span of about 3 weeks.
Love how you name colors rather than showing examples! Like, who cares? The word is enough, we all know what "seal" and "lilac" means in a cat color! Like, who cares?
Not to brag, but one walked into our yard in rural Wisconsin- 15 years ago and we did find the owner who said she did not want him anymore. I even offered to give her food and medical care for a while (‘cause her two daughters cried out for him) …she still said no. I do think her young daughters were too immature…but Shr Gu Gu joined our 4 other strays. He is still with us and is about everything this speakers says… friendly, purrs, but Shr Gu Gu does require outdoor time- he meows until I let him out to check the yard. He eats regular cat food and as I said.. he is 16 now…In short, look in your yards and at she.très… sadly, people dump their “beloved” forever friends as much as spouses nowadays.
Oh my precious ragdoll fiona… she is a super kind and gentle cat but she refuses to sit on laps lol. Shes the least cuddly of my cats. Shes not from a very responsible breeder sadly tho. Im probably not going to get a purebred cat again but she’s so beautiful.
As a ragdoll cat owner, i can tell that everything in this video is true. but my ragdoll car was never like this at the start, since he was a stray and was abused by people. when someone found him at the street, they decided to take him to the vet. unfortunately the unprofessional staff made him lose his right eye. but now, he just seems to act like teemo and arya and get along with my dog. but there are some bad sides about him. because he lost one of his eyes, he fell down from my villas 3rd floor. luckily he only got a simple bruise that is already gone and he was able to land on his feet at the end of the day. and this is farfor, the guy who plugged my computer cable while typing this comment.
My pair of male littermates are a smaller red bicolor and a large cream mitted. They have quite different personalities and voices too. The large one eats so much more food. I'm so happy to have two such different ragdolls because I see more of the spectrum of personality. I commented because I think your cats are red, also known as flame. Could be the camera or my monitor though. It is hard to tell. From what I understand, cream is a darker color. I also don't think the darker cream shade of my cat came in until he aged a bit. Maybe your cats are cream and they are still young?
Hey you have two beautiful cats :). I actually wanted the red/flame when I was getting my cats, but they weren’t available at the time. It’s seems your large cat is similar to Teemo, both like to eat. Hey good question! It could be the lighting. Red and cream are quite close haha. Arya is like between light to dark brown. And Teemo is on the lighter brown side. But you are right that cream takes a while to come in. I think some of the footage was them still growing.
@@aniab4306 One of my males, the heavier one, had a urinary tract problem once, which had to be treated in as an emergency. He's almost 10 yrs old. They say urinary issues are more common in males. If there are any behavioral differences I think you could find it to be luck of the draw because my male cats are so different. Males are generally larger. Mine are 13 and 17 lbs, and were raised identically. For the elderly or weak, size could matter. Our 8 lb non-ragdoll is harder to handle than both ragdolls. But, I can easily carry in one arm the 13 lb cat but not the 17.
I have always wanted a ragdoll and a Saint Bernard. Would they get along? Will I have any problems with both of them being in the same home? How often should I give them the raw meat? How much should I bathe or brush them?
Hey great question! Yes they would! Ragdolls are one of the chillest cat breeds! hmm in terms of frequency for raw meat, I think you would have to choose what type of food style you want to do, raw food, wet food, or dry. If you pick raw it would be every meal, twice a day when they are an adult. Bathing usually happens when they poop on themselves or once every 2 months so no mats form. I brush them every day so they don't throw hairballs. Hope that helps!
Had2 Ragdoll, who were brothers:;Bear and IttyBitty. Itty Bitty developed hyperthyroidism and kidney disease. Despite medications and special diets, Itty Bitty had to be euthanized this year. Age 19. His brother Bear is still alive and lives with me. He’s also 19 years old I adopted a 15 year old Ragdoll named Morgan from the Women’s Animal Center in Bensalem PA (first humane society in the US, now called Womens Animal center) I watched You tube videos on You Tube on how to introduce 2 unrelated cats to each other. So far, so good. Ragdolls are the most docile, loving, kind cat companions
Cecelia sorry to hear of your loss. And love how well you take care of them. 19 years old! That is an achievement! Any tips on what you do to keep your cats so healthy and living so long? Yes Ragdoll cats are the best!
I've always loved this amazing cat breed, but never had the possibility of getting one. I'll it the soonest, thanks for your video anyway😍. Just to say, ragdolls in my country cost at least 1200 euros if they are company quality and rarely if they are show quality , otherwise if they are for breeding they cost about 3000 euros😅😦
@@TheCatButler I believe that, I've informed more and more about them in these current years, I'm so excited about getting mine 😍!! I still have to choose the perfect breeder and to decide which is my favorite pattern ❤️
