⚠️ UPDATE: Berlin has a new airport! In November 2020, Berlin closed two of its former airports (Schönefeld and Tegel). The completely new (and only) airport in Berlin is Berlin Brandenburg Airport. To get to and from Brandenburg airport, you can use a car, public transportation, taxi, and Uber. More: ber.berlin-airport.de/en/orientation/getting-here.html
Enjoyed your video, I went to Berlin in February 2024 and was delighted with the experience I found food prices cheaper than your stated average cost the Kebabs were to die for and the fresh German bread amazing, will definitely go again but in the Summer, best regards, Gez.
I just rented an apartment for 200€ per night. With a small dog. The cheapest places are shared or somewhere in the outskirts, forest. This is for mid September
First time I visited Berlin was in 2002 on a Europe backpacking trip and loved it straight away. I wrote a song there 'One Way Ticket', which became an album a few years later. Since then I've been several more times and it has a magical, open energy and vibe. Feels very spacious and good to be in although not the prettiest city. It inspired two more songs, 'Karl-Marx-Allee' and 'Definitely Berlin'.
Nice video. Concerning temperatures I've gotta correct you. During winter, temperatures easily reach -10°C (even had close to -20) and up to +40°C in summer.
the bridge is called "Oberbaumbrücke". It connects Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, over the river Spree. A few things in the video were incorrect, e.g: - Restaurant bills don't include a service charge in Germany. You can tipp 10% if the service was good, most locals just 'round up' the bill if the service was alright (7,40€ -> 8€) - And you don't have to pay or tip to use the toilet at a restaurant if you're a guest. Seriously, I've never experienced this for my whole life here in Germany except maybe some McDonalds toilets or public toilets at malls with food courts. But never in a proper restaurant. Never.
As German: I haven been to Paris, Canberra, Tokio, Washington, London to name some capitals. But I want stay stay alive, hence I will never visit this hell hole. Frankfurt was an awesome city in the late 90s, but know...even Munich has become a pretty run down city.
