1st thing you need to know: Yosemite has the largest cluster of missing people under extremely unusual circumstances . And yes im talking about the Missing 411 phenomenon, and this is fact !! So please people , do not go alone , if you choose to do so at least carry a personal location transponder with you at all times. (I would carry one regardless of im alone or not , considering people always seem to somehow get separated from their group before they go missing especially children). So please if you choose to visit a National Park especially Yosemite, keep your children in sight at ALL times. Never let anyone fall behind in a group or get too far ahead. Nevertheless I hope everyone enjoys this beautiful work of Godly art.
@@CreativeTravelGuide Please do. David Paulidis discovered this strange and very bizarre phenomenon and have wrote several books on the matter titled Missing 411.
May I suggest an alternative to booking lodging in the Yosemite Valley, the township of Wawona sports the historic Wawona Hotel along with many privately owned rental cabins such as The Redwoods in Yosemite rental cabins. Wawona is a short 26 mile 45 minute drive from the valley. On its own Wawona offers plenty to see and do without the crowds. Do check it out.
I went last July 17-18, 2020 when reservation were necessary and it was amazing very few people in sight at every stop glacier point was all for myself and my family for 50 minutes so we all spread out and meditated and it was so refreshing. One of my best experiences yet
Hey, Yo, How's it going, Bro? I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, You've told me everything I need to know and You have a passion for travel. This is a national park and I like this place very much. Yeah, There are big mountains, There are big meadows, There are so many forests, There are big waterfalls and There are beautiful trees. The world is very big and There are many beautiful places in the world and This is one of them. Thank you very much for this video, Nature is fascinating. 🏞️🏞️⛰️🌄🙂👍
Some nice tips here. Well, the dining options section could have been a little longer! You don't give a clue! The choices are varied - I haven't been in the park for a few years, but I've gone several years in a row. By Yosemite Lodge, there is the cafeteria, also a restaurant that was quite good. In Yosemite Village, there are several casual eating places. The Ahahnee Hotel has a glorious restaurant (aside from being glorious itself, though I'd never stay there). And there are other stands and options in Curry Village and throughout the park. So you can dine high and on the run. I would - if it's still running and I'm sure it is - never forego the open tram tour of Yosemite Valley. It's about an hour, and it's narrated. It stops for a bit a Tunnel View so everyone can get pictures, but the best pictures are not the ones that everybody else is taking, but the pictures you take that move you the most - the simple things - a bird in the meadow, the tall pines, the dusk. Your pictures. And if you bring your car, park it. Your pictures will turn out awful if you insist on dragging your car around everywhere.
I was thinking about visiting but those missing 411cases ( by way of a channel called Mr Ballen) are really making me think. I'm doing as much research as I can before I decide, regardless of your choice please stay safe!!
I love it there but my dec 14 though 21 2020 camping trip canceled to covid so sad I haven't camp there since I was in my 20 but have stayed at every place even top floor window room at the Ahwahnee hotel and been up halfdoom 2 time looked down the face memories you will never forget I will say second trip lot harder my leg were sore.
Hi we are considering doing a day trip from Carson city, Nevada to Yosemite. Would we be able to see a good bit of the park by riding in the shuttle on a day trip?
The things to know before you come to Yosemite or not listed here I've lived here for 60 years you want to know what things to do what to see how to do it and how to see it you get a hold of a local that's been here 50 plus years some travel agent that's flown in there and done whatever else done doesn't make for a good time it makes for a bunch of crowds and long lines corporate America has put a footprint on my homeland and they need to ease up come see a real mountain man learn you send me like no one else can teach you Jade expeditions
I went there last week, got to the entrance, sign said no entrance without a day-pass and security said to go online. So I drove back about 20 miles to have phone signal, looked on the web sight and is was 5 days fore an available day pass. That was not a pleasing notification, plus I came all the way from Florida, I was not a happy camper.
I applied for a Yosemite wilderness permit on Dec 21st of 2019 and was approved Dec 23rd 2019 with Half Dome cables. It was like an early Christmas present! The first night in the park was to be June 6th and trip to start June 7th. Then COVID-19 almost ruined that.most other parks were cancelling or setting back much. Yosemite was saying nothing. After following SFGate, Sacramento Bee and. Mariposa Gazette I learned they started by opening the PCT to permit holders. Then they said the park was opening in the beginning of June. What does that mean, June 1st, June 5th, 10th? I thought it would be after my permit was scheduled. 😂 I was notified on June 2nd that Yosemite was opening to wilderness permit holders on June 5th and that my permit was good to go! I didn’t cancel because I felt it was the trip of a lifetime. It was a trip of a lifetime. When entering the park from El Portal we ran into no one until we got to the actual entrance at Arched Rock. There was a couple people in front of us and they were workers and contractors. I ran into a couple other cars while driving around Yosemite Valley and the others were contractors. Our campground for the backpackers campground was moved to Upper Pines and there were only seven other tents. No more than 14 people or less. The Californians that we talked to said to take it in and enjoy it because it’s usually like Disneyland. I took many photos but wish I had done more video. But John Muir’s words made me want to unplug. I felt the situation was a once in a lifetime exploration and that I wanted to unplug. I can always go back and shoot video when the masses are there. “Yosemite Park is a place of rest, a refuge from the roar and dust and weary, nervous, wasting work of the lowlands, in which one gains the advantages of both solitude and society. Nowhere will you find more company of a soothing peace-be-still kind.” “The snow is melting into music.” "And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul."
Sounds like you had a wonderful time! It is such a beautiful park and glad you were able to visit. Yes, with all the changes in the world, I think most of the state parks were a bit unsure on when they would be able to open!
YOSEMITE IS ONE OF THE MOST STUNNING, IN FACT ID SAY BEAUTIFUL OF ALL THE NATIONAL PARKS.... BUT BE WARNED ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD....YOSEMITE HAS A DARK SIDE....BECAUSE OF ITS BEAUTY IT RECEIVES THE MOST VISITORS OF ALL THE PARKS......BUT ? IT ALSO HAS THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF MISSING PEOPLE.......MIND HOW YOU GO AND HAVE A NICE DAY.....
Wow alot of ppl seem to know about the missing people. I went once when i was a kid like maybe 15 years ago. Way before the missing 411 books. Now i dont dare go back :( if only guns where legal go carry. Ive heard no one with a gun has never gone missing or something like that
@@edweeenoooflow5738 they make it seem like something super natural is goin on. Weird stuff like people found miles away from where they went missing where it impossible for them to walk there without climbing gear or helicopter etc.
