The Pokémon Sun & Moon Demo release on October 18th, 2016. Approximately one month before the game's full release. It gave players their first chance at exploring some of the Alola region and an experience playing and catching the new unreleased Pokémon! Today we'll be playing this demo, using cheats and walking through walls. There's a lot more that meets the eye with regards to this demo.

i think 16:05 is from a demo event that introduces the player to the camera and alolan dugtrio! there was a girl on the beach that would talk to you about it and the dugtrio would be on that tiny island for you to take pictures of, but it would never turn around. i can send you some old pics i took of that event over twitter if you'd like!

Would love to see a part 2, Demo exploration is SICK, no matter the game. maybe try editing the encounter table to catch impossible pokemon in the wild?

The only n/a in the key items that's reconisible is the first on he checked, was the zygarde cube, as it had the 'check' box. I imagine that the others are like the other mega items if they exist in the games files

I always love this kind of content so was a pleasant surprise to see it here today :D Would love to see things like this for other demos (oras, diamond, spaceworld gold) and even things like messing with glitches in older games (coin case in gen 2, anything from gen 1). i was fascinated by this demo when it came out! also tried covering it a bit when it was new over on my tumblr blog back in the day. i am loving seeing more of the inner workings of this demo! if you decide to do another demo coverage, i'd love to see you look into the oras demo, since it too had a surprising amount of content.

don't know if you noticed, but the type gems are in the demo. they were cut in gen 6, so it's surprising that they're technically still in there.

HMs are available as TMs in this generation and can be used as normal moves so that's why they were in the TMs

In the good ol' ds game times you could cheat event pokemon into the game via button combo. I've read in the comments changing the encounter table crashes the game. But is there any way to trigger the event delivery man with an event pokemon? Or some other way to obtain a pokemon without changing the encounter table or the team? I feel like there has to be something. Could be suuper interesting. (If it were possible, I would love to see how the game reacts to form changes like Kyurem or Shaymin). Do attack boosts via items still work, like with arceus' plates etc? Is there maybe some "learn any TM" cheat you could use to try those TMs (normal ones, n/a's and the removed HMs)? I also remember people data mining the entire dex thanks to this demo. So maybe the Pokedex does work? And I don't remember reading anything about shinies with this Demo. In the Oras demo, the starters could be shiny, but would keep their normal colored modell, implying the shiny models werent in the game or something like that. Can shinies be encountered in this Demo? If so, those their animation still play and show the shiny info and such? Is there an "all encounters are shiny" cheat or something like that to test that? I'd also love to see this with the Oras Demo!

An interesting thing to test, if z-double team turned into n/a still had the z effect, could test it getting growled or leered and seeing if it resets those stats

Try editing the wild encounters to get the Pokémon you want instead of importanting them directly. Try stuff like Ultra Beasts and things that can mega evolve.
