For something that we can’t even see without the free camera mod, the nuclear shell is quite well detailed... and looks different from how I pictured it.
all railgun projectiles are encased in a conductive sabot, like an APFSDS tank round but it conducts electricity as well. this is for 2 reasons; first, the projectile needs to fit in the barrel tightly in order to be accurate, and secondly, the projectile needs to produce an electromagnetic field perpendicular to the EM field of the railguns barrel in order to produce the lorenz effect, which is how raillguns actually launch projectiles. i would say that the black box containing the nuke round is for fitting in the barrel and the big metal block at the back is for producing the lorenz effect and pushing the round out of the cannon
@@overtoast1105 Does it fall off that early? I thought IRL the sabot separates a good few seconds after leaving the barrel. Considering it's a railgun shell and how fast it goes I think it makes sense for the sabot to still be on at that point.
@@aidandpearce2919 I guess this is why railguns need to be repaired regularly. Firing projectiles lodged that tightly into the barrels with that absurd amount of force will lead to some serious damages.
You miss one thing: If you don't Destroy both of Railguns until Phase 3, Alicorn will fires them Furiously towards you. Approximately 3 Railgun shots every 5 seconds.
The thing is, the railguns will sometimes fire like that once in a while on the third surfacing and onwards in the first Alicorn phase. It's an unclear pattern, though.
@@forcexjr1566 "The Sun, the Sky, and My Girl" from Ace Combat 6. You can find it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-v0qZXBH1W1E.html
I didn't hit anything that wasn't a TGT. Phase 3 took me 3 hours because I wasn't starting over again, you won't catch me touching this mission ever again lol
@@beyourself7428 I usually only play on Ace, so that's why. Mission practically wants you to be 4 places at once, and it's just not doable with a standard load-out.
@@beyourself7428 I wouldn't say that it's impossible without mods, but it's very, very difficult. You'll need to cheese and spawnkill the SLUAVs using the TLS, but they have a nasty tendency to jerk about to throw off your aim. FALKEN TLS with laser parts works wonders here. Oh, and uh, be sure that the UAVs are some distance away from Spectre when you try this. That being said, like Brooks said, good luck doing this conventionally.
@@KoPT01 Because you can't exactly rely on your standard homing, I recommend approaching the drones from behind and firing your MSL at intervals where you think the SLUAV move in a straight line. When the 10 SLUAV spawn, your main concern is the middle pack. Neutralizing 3 from one side by getting behind them then quickly moving to the other side's 3 considerably ups your chances of saving all four Specter (SLUAV movement pattern in that wave is 2-3-3-2 top-to-bottom side of the map, despite spawning in a 5-5 "
In the track "Hero of Comberth Harbor" which is the one that plays in the last faae has "sonar ping" the only thing is that are part of the lyrics so you can hear the voice well "Ah!" Which represent the sonar ping
I accidentally ran into a Specter at the beginning of the mission because I was looking at the ships below. Hearing Count saying "OH COME ON !" as if he was tired of my bullshit was hilarious.
So, are there any lines if you shoot down 26 SACS? Do SACS keep spawning after downing 26 of them? Assuming the Alicorn never restocked the 4 lost craft after DLC Mission 1, there should only be 26 SACS planes remaining on the ship.
@@the_director_vinsanity, you're right, probably not possible with the vanilla game. It would best be attempted with the TLS damage/range mod to blast through phase 1 as fast as possible to build-up as much time for phase 2, then not destroy up the railguns so the Alicorn dives sooner, and farm SACS as they take off without destroying the Alicorn enough to begin the final phase.
SACS only take off in pairs. You engage 5 at the beginning. If you want to kill all of them, Alicorn has to surface 10 times. We still haven't added the times when SACS aren't launching when it's surfaced.
Doesn't Trigger basically save Oured by sacrificing himself tho? Like, his plane has blocked the shell, and even if it did pierce through and kept flying, it wouldn't be as fast as it normally is.
1. The fact that you don't get points for teamkilling Specter, like you do for teamkilling McKinsey just shows how much they want you to hate the latter. XD 9. But it feels like a massive "joke's on you", since the VLS are WAY more dangerous than the railguns. :@
Well, dude literally kept ~90% of his crew alive when under the sea for 2 years straight which is incredible, and also has an excellent service record, he might as well be a great asset to Erusia had he not revealed himself as a homicidal maniac. He probably hid his craziness extremely well before eventually showed his true colours.
Anyone notice that Torres sounds like Markiplier? Probably went insane with all those rage games, Yandere Simulator playthroughs, and that Unus Annus channel.
@@pap3809, no, the same specific mission failure dialogue occurs if you let the railgun successfully fire the first or the second time. BlazededgeRZ already tested it both ways. Silver Eye comments the shell is headed toward Oured and Target IDs the shell, Count praying it missed and Jaeger saying to pray for those affected by the fallout.
Huh? Last time I checked in MPBM and LACM playthrough, there were more smaller explosions before the Alicorn Nuke Generator blew up. Especially at 14:05, did I miss something?
nah, that was the railgun itself blowing up. In the blueprints shown during the briefing, the liquid metal reactors were sort of between the overhead hangar and the stern. The explosion happened right underneath the railgun.
First time I played this mission, I accelerated right into Specter. Didnt see him until I hit. Laughed my ass off when Count said "Oh C'mon!", almost like he didnt expect the great Trigger to make a rookie error
"Not much room for evasion aside from increasing your speed" Me; an A-10C degenerate: *PSMs (Planned Stall Maneuver) directly between both railguns to avoid getting shot*
During the end sequence, he says that it was something to tell his son about. During the debriefing, Wiseman states that the next mission in 32 hours, and Jaeger says that's not something to tell his son about. o:
@@aleseaux I think he meant that he won't tell his son that after he went through the cluster fuck of a submarine hunt he was assigned to a simple bombing run.
Erich thinking about that time his dad fought a giant fuck-off plane with a bunch of UAVs while he's fighting a giant fuck-off blimp with a bunch of escorts.
As much as I'm loving all of this attention to detail, I also wish that there was some extra dialogue for getting hit with the main railgun. Something like "Trigger took the shell and saved Oured" and Wiseman saying something like "I told you that only 100% survival rate is acceptable...Dumbass...Mission is a failure"
Glad you included Lt. Barbieri! I got him on my playthrough as I was taking time attacking the Alicorn’s ballast tanks and saw very few people talking about him.
One major thing I picked up on is during the fake surrender cutscene is inconsistent damage portrayal. If you destroy the jammer, the damage is not shown in the cutscene. If you leave the VLS ports alone and take out the tanks, they'll show up as destroyed in the cutscene, meaning PA used a separate Alicorn model. Dont know why they chose to do this, but it does shatter my immersion at times. Edit: if my memory is correct, if you destroy both railguns, or don't destroy either, only one will show up as busted. I may be wrong on this, but I just remembered noticing something wrong with the railguns as well. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on this. Second edit: Just went through the mission again to test the railgun consistency, destroyed both. Unless my eyes decieve me, neither showed up as destroyed. I cant tell if the right gun port was broken, as the angle, camera speed, and water effect on the hull prevented me from taking a better look. If I had pc, I would just run the freecam mod to confirm, but i can't, as I'm on ps4. Maybe someone who does can make sure. Third edit: Just confirmed for a 100 percent, destroy both or one railgun, neither port show up as busted in the cutscene. Fourth edit: Here. Something positive. Third phase, restart checkpoint, your squadron will do the sunburst thing that Sol Squadron does in mission 15.
@@Shattered_Skies After the sub surfaces a second time and launches fighters shortly after she'll likely remark "What are they? Some sort of Suicide squad?" this is likely a reference to deadshots line in the movie "What are we? Some sort of Suicide Squad?"
Considering how much it moves from Trigger’s attack, they’re probably assuming it’ll land in the water. Still not nearly as concerned as they ought to be, though.
Additionally 1 missed thing The X-02S's modified APS shield ->More than five shots of Alicorn's Railcannon are also shot down while the APS Shield is in development
Hey Knight, I wonder u could make recreating 1v1 boss fight on final mission like AC2 Scare face vs ZOE, ACZ F 15(with Galm skin mod) vs ADFX 01 or etc on mp
