Things You May NOT Have Known About the Honda CRZ! 

Hi, nice effort, especially the boot parcel shelf bit I completely forgot, just few good to know facts to add/correct: - The JDM GE8 Fit Hybrid RS has the 6MT as well, also the 3 driving modes, I suppose all inherited from CRZ (I read through the hybrid drivetrain output and all seems the same, even the intake manifold is the same of the CR-Z unlike the non-hybrid Fit 1.5) - The chassis isn't quite the same as GE8 strictly speaking, but more of a derivative of the 2nd gen Insight (b-pillar forwards). One of the main difference being that GE8, FN2 (Civic EURO) both have the fuel tank mounted under the front seats to allow for 'magic seat' at the rear that folds upwards, but the CR-Z has the fuel tank at the back. This allowed lower sitting position and supposedly a different weight distribution. I read in Japanese magazine that the engineer of the CR-Z wanted to create the sporty 'feel' through an alternative interpretation of 'sporty' than power figures, hence spent a lot of time on optimising driving position, gear change feel etc., which as an owner I really can feel. - In Europe we never actually get the production version of Mugen CR-Z. Though someone is with that very orange prototype in the UK. However there is a production version of Mugen CR-Z, which is the JDM Mugen RZ, limited to 300 units and all finished in blue. - And of course quite a lot of things are different in Europe and UK, won't expend on that. One of the quirk is the ambient footwell lights (covered in dark covers) we have in the UK for mid-spec onwards - something I only noticed over the summer. - There is actually a way to see your water (I suppose is from the coolant temp) temperature using the aircon diagnostic mode, search for my post on CR-Z forum, quite handy for winter and track

I broke 3 handles on my del sol during winter with light freezing. I've been eyeing a crz lately. I don't know if I want to resubject myself to that. wonder if I can recast them in aluminum...

One little thing I noticed while test driving one of these in the rain today was the sound of the windshield wipers turning on. Just before and after they wipe, there is a small click inside the dash, kind of like a turn signal. It's not loud, but if you don't have music on, it can get kind of annoying.

I have had zero issue with the door handle on my 2011 NSBP EX 6MT in southern California. It gets a lot hotter here than it does in Michigan (I grew up in western MI). I do, however, have the shattered fog light lenses that seem so common...

I bought new in 2011. Still going strong with 169k. I added the Muegen spoiler and a Sport exhaust muffler for some “ rumble”. Out here on Long Island, my car is rarer on the street than a Ferrari or Lamborghini!

Great video , has to be one of the best crz reviews I have seen. They made 300 CR-Z Mugen RZ's, they all came in blue & where made just for Japan only. All of them where supercharged. 😀😀👍👍

Hey, I am an older car enthusiast and buy different cars almost every month. Today I bought a 2016 CRZ and watched your channel. I learned a couple of things and just wanted to compliment you on a well done video. Very to the point and informative. So far I have to say this little car impresses the hell out of me. and I'm not that easily impressed. On the 100 mile trip home from buying it, I did not see another one on the road so yeah they must be fairly rare. And unique. anyway again, great job on your video!

I have 2011-12 CRZ stick and door handle broke even since but I was able to open it by pushing on it, only one time broken, i replace an electronic board on the battery module, the tech in Honda told me, never broke ever since, now i'm planning to replaced window moulding, it last 10 years, my CRZ is blue, the replacement F driver handle comes only Black, Carbon fiber, white, I think I'll choose black and Upgrade, metal part lever instead of plastic, when you drive 55mph it get the best mileage but annoying, Honda salesman told me its the same engine with FIT, 1.3 liters, I used to drive 1986 MR2 super charged, Its quick tops at 149mph but only on straight, mid engine is not good even though it's rear drive, that feels like a sports car! I probably buy new Pickup Toyota Corolla prime, I tried Rav4prime, I thought they should put the engine for a car, 300hp is a lot and all wheel drive electric-ICE rechargeable.

The second position for the cargo cover is the perfect spot and shape to secure my Onewheel. It's awesome. I got the ex with the sub, but the classic stereo. I much prefer it, i dont like big screens in my cars. I love this car. I get 45-50 mpg, though people very often don't believe me..

Weird fact, I had the 2011 and the 2016, the 2011 has more tactile turn indicators, wipers indicators, wish my 2016 had the old ones. The ex has mirrors on both visors with a vanity light, the 2016 stops the engine from 30kph and windshield defrost doesn't keep the engine on.

I do not know if it is a european thing, but we absolutely no problems with the door handles. None of the issues are known.

What kind of exhaust do you have on there?

I just got a 2014 EX with the 7 speed CVT, and Sport mode does a lot more than just make it shift more aggressively. It makes the steering heavier and throttle feels different, sounds a good bit louder.

The thing I live in Stockton California and it’s hot out here so I’ve seen videos like this so I do pop it open and open it up with the door👈

Mine has mirrors on both sides and it comes 2 lights that turn on when you lift the plastic lid

So fyi, I bought the armrest that sits in the cupholder but I leaned on it too hard and it snapped the original cupholder from the console. I still use cos I love an armrest it but it moves about a bit!
