That section after the water when you need to walk through that really soft sponge bean bag flooring. That was the worse because not only do you have to deal with the funk, you also can't get out the room quickly because you kept sinking and stumbling. It was like torture lol.

I was just there, and it didn't smell at all. Only at the very beginning when all us tourists took off our shoes and socks, but after the cleaning process, I couldn't smell a thing and I have the nose of a blood hound. 😅

Wow I live in Tokyo and I've been to this like 5 times and I've never smelled feet lol maybe i was luck or maybe the ppl you were with had smelly feet :/ also the koi water has to be murky because it's supposed to reflect the holograms of the fish.

It’s cuz we’re local and probably went towards the end of COVID. Nowadays A LOT of people are visiting Japan so there’s a lot more foreigners. When I went to TeamLab Borderless, (not planets), there wasn’t much people there and if there was it’s was all Japanese people.

I just went last week and I agree, no smell of feet at all and I’m quite sensitive to smells.. agree on the koi water has to be a canvas, i don’t believe it’s dirt murky

If you're sensitive to smell, I recommend people dab some scented oil or perfume on the inside of their mask and wear it the whole time. We do this in clinics for patients with special "aroma".

When I went I didn’t know about the water situation and wore pants. Yes they provide shorts but I warn you all now, if you want good photos, don’t wear those shorts! I have heaps of photos from when I went but I hate them all because of the shorts 😭

Wooo good to know this experience. I'm not sure I would've like to be surprised if I went and didn't know about it. I went to the Macau one, supernature, and luckily didn't need to be barefoot. It was so so fun. I can't wait to be able to explore all of the other ones!

My favorite part is the squishy floor after the disinfecting water walking part. You take a step and just fall forward in the darkness while sinking into cushions lol

TeamLab Borderless was so much better, way bigger, and less sensory, and it was sooooo magical. It’s HUGEE and they don’t give you a map so you just wander around different exhibits and they’re all so beautiful! (Lots of sound and darkness tho)

I just went and disagree! It was an amazing experience and being barefoot was part of the whole show, to experience life fully through the body. No smell, the “murky” water was just coloring and texture for the art exhibit, and nobody was weirded out taking off there shoes. Obviously clean your feet well when you get home but this video is very misleading!!

When I went to Team Lab in Japan, there was no rule that you had to walk around barefoot. I’m pretty sure it depends on which one you visit because there wasn’t a exhibition where you walk in water for me

I finished that exhibition so fast that I don’t wanna be in there at all!!! I mean it’s pretty and inspiring, it’s just not for me lol can’t deal with all the feet and the water😅I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks that
