What do you guys think about the Lexus IS250. I think its a really good car for the Price as long as you keep these things in mind. Instagram: navsgarage_ Tik Tok: navsgarage
Yeah, valid points, but couple of things I’ve to say, as I am a second hand owner of the car 1. It’s decently fast, good on gas, needs premium though. 2. Takes a bit oil, so little expensive side. 3. Rear has room for average person, need to put the butt in the bucket. 4. Trunk has space, I could fit big ass bag and some other things easily. 5. Not automatic trunk, just unlocks the lock. 6. Transmission is ok, shifts fasts, need some practice to do it. 7. Cruising has no exhaust sound, need to redline to hear something. 8. It’s an entry level sports sedan/ anyone looking to get into luxury cars. 9. Will get few looks if the car is clean and tinted with carbon exhaust tips. 10. Can smoke out civics. 11. Cold starts are brutal, needs time to warmup, compared with my venza . 12. Idles at 1k rpm on cold days/ when the hvac is on. 13. Has adaptive headlights. 14. Has headlamp washer. 15. Has rear sunshade screen. Overall, a pretty good car with features packed on. Used car market value is high, so resale is good.
Yah it’s a good car for the money has lots of features and quirks. Couldn’t give all the secrets away in one video. It the Rear for me driving I can’t sit behind myself. But it’s a good car for the money that’s why I bought it
I had a second car that broke down on me. A 2004 Toyota Corolla. So to replace that I got a 2008 Lexus IS250 at 120k miles. I truly believe and hope this lovely car will last as long as my Corolla did at 340k miles. I did have to change the water pump , drain and fill transmission fluid, get new brakes, replace a couple hoses, the thermostat, repair the suspension, and do a carbon cleanup that ended up not being so bad. I love the styling of the IS. It certainly looks way more stylish than my previous 2004 Corolla.
@@Romeingtv it’s not significantly smoother but I will say that it’s definitely less harsh and you can tell it’s running better. Worth the investment I say.
I have a 2012 IS350 F Sport … I bought it with 31k miles in July and currently has 37k. If you’re gonna get a 2IS, definitely invest in getting a 350. You get 100hp more than the 250 and as the car ages within miles, the 350s are more reliable than the 250s even though they’re the same engine. 250s are prone to have a lot a lot of carbon build up especially higher mileage. Yeah it’s an old car. But it’s really everything you need. NAV, Bluetooth, heated seats, moonroof, and all the other features he mentioned. I believe if you get a 2009+, the 2IS can support music streaming from the infotainment system itself. Doesn’t support calls and music at the same time though. But you can buy an adapter that I’ve seen a lot of 2IS owners buy that can take calls and music at the same time. If you’re gonna be solo driving this car most of the time like 90%+ then I think it’s a great car despite the small rear seat space in the back
Just a couple things. The 250 and 350 are similar enGines but not the same. 250 gets carbon build up but it’s not a deal breaker. Also my 2011 base model can do music and answer calls hands free so maybe they updated it past those years? just bought a 2011 250 6mt with 32,000km on it (60,000 miles ish?) I love it. Its not the fastest but still super fun to drive. Most reliable car I’ve ever had. And the guy I’m the video said interior is out dated? Maybe the radio but everything else is so sleek and modern. I wouldn’t change a thing Also I live in Canada and drive my rwd manual is250 through feet of snow! Get good winter tires and you’ll be fine. Fun to drift too Great car no matter what choose.
@@javonwatkins6924 update i have a lil bit more $ now and started working full time since my senior year is over and still deciding between a is250 or rn i might get a dodge charger rt idk yet
Bought my daughter one of these cars and for a small car it is solid as they come. Stays glued to the road and doesn't shake at all at high speeds. The sound system is awesome. Yes the navigation and backup camera is old looking but still very attractive looking. The dash is neat because it has a halo type gauge that lights up at hi rpms that you can personally set. I like the way it looks when accelerating so I set my daughters at low rps. Does the same for Mph. Only thing that I don't like is that the climate control and radio are all in the touch screen and when and if it malfunctions im sure this will cost a whole lot of money to fix.
One of my buddies recommended I do NOT change the suspension cause I live in Canada where the winters get bad, he also mentioned it ruins the ride quality of the car, thoughts on that?
yah it will change the ride. It wont be the soft nice suspension your use to it will ride harsh. It depends what you get but its usually gonna make the suspension harder
Yah like I said that's something that will be very apparent. BUT like I said in the video the plastics are very cheap and are prone to fading cracking ect. Its a common issues and even had a warranty recall to fix the issue but many cars did not get it.
Looks beautiful, what kind if tint is it? I have a 2010 awd and I need to tint it, but dont want it to look like lowered 1999 honda civic with kenwood stickers on walmart parking lot on friday at midnight if you know what I mean, I’m looking for elegant outnof factory tint look
Great video! Can we have one for the mustang’s back seats ? Want to see if anyone can sit behind someone that’s 6 feet. I’m 5’10”, thus not tall but don’t want squeeze anyone behind me in a coupe.
I’d depends how often you have people and how tall you are. I’m 6ft I have a hard time sitting behind myself. It’s just not comfortable for a longer drive
How many times can you mention it's an older car.. We know its not new.. Why bother critiquing an older old if it bothers you.. No doubt it's cheap.. You get exactly what you pay for
Because for a similar price you can get a bmw 3 series that’s newer and nicer. But the reliability is a different story. I bring it up because the car isn’t cheap but it’s affordable.
@@jamesheaney8258 Im a little confused as to what you mean. I am saying you can buy a bmw that has nicer interior and is newer in model year for a similar price. I said nothing about reliability I said its a different story. My friend has a BMW he got for a similar price and its much nicer than the Lexus is. Thats why I say its cheap and old, which it is. But like I also said its a great car for what it is you know.
@@NavsGarage If you're taking about an E90 I hardly think it's remarkable. If you are taking about an E46 it is indeed a handsome car- Professional motor writers often refer to this as well as the last of the old school driver's car. Your friend is lucky to pick up a BM in beter condition than that lexus.. But I doubt that every one else would have that success for little money.. A older BM will either be a pleasure or noose around one's neck.. I'd be picking the lexus unless there was an E46 was in great shape. An E90 is Blah
Very nice review of a great car. However, I noticed you have a hole in your hoodie on your upper right sleeve. I'm thinking maybe a mouse has taken a liking to it. Maybe you could do a video addressing the mice infestation lol
Curious bro, obviously I caught the video late but why was it sold at such low mileage ? You mentioned clunky tranny-- maybe this reason ? Thoughts on a convertible?
the original owner did not drive it much in the many year they owed it. I assume an elderly person who only drove it every few days a couple miles. The transmission is not underivable or even that bad, it just needs some new fluid. I do not really like the convertible but they are weird cars that I think could be fun
@@NavsGarage thanks Nav for the good feedback. I don’t know if you ever check out the total car care nut? That cat is strictly Toyota and Lexus, has given a whole new world of knowledge about both. I have an 11 Corolla and and 03 limited 4 runner, his background help me find the runner last year, Florida car zero rust. Thanks for everything. Keep on jamming dude. Looking forward to more. 👍🏼
I thought the is250 would get a lot better mpg than the is350... I have an 06 350 and if I drive tamely I could get 28-29mpg, If I tried really hard I could probably get 30mpg
My lexus 205is is 13 years old, no problem with it, and know you examen that car as an lower midleclass car??? Any car can you break down if you wish, but wot you said in your video is absurd. sorry, it is a good car and rides good, fast, and comfertal. You best drive in a VW, Ford, Opel , than you will feel soo musch better.
It’s 15 year old nearly. Most people consider 5 year old cars old. And this car shows it’s age in technology for sure. It’s not classic but it’s definitely not new
@@NavsGarage There's literally a WHOLE CULTURE OF GS300'S. You ain't getting no Sc450, or whatever community to be going on 25 years like the Aristo/300!!! But you young I understand. Lol
