Another day another larp based list. This time around we look into thing you should know about ic camping. If you got any tips, tricks and helpful pointers please comment below so the rest of the community and read
i know it's not common but if like me you're a person who sleeps more comfortably knowing there are others around, the singing in the distance that happens in some larps can be very soothing
The best larp moments are when a bard starts singing in tavern late in the evening and all us tone deaf folks sing along in various tones. Seriusly the bard started a song called "if you get what i'm saying" and i've been mentioned thrice in that song and it's some of the best moments from the game. with a few being equal to it.
I think one of the best things about camping in character is the 24/7 opportunity. I'll never forget pulling guard duty at 03:00 and then leading a raid on another camp at 04:00. It kept the game very realistic and exciting that things could happen 24/7
At Dystopia Rising I have napped under buildings, tables, in a row boat. I also had a tube shaped pop tent covered in a really rough looking brown tarp. :3 My tarp matched the tarps that covered the wood piles. So I'd set up in the brush next to the wood piles XD Never had an issue XD hehehehehe Even had 'monsters' walk right by me. The terror was real XD
i loooove the "chapter names" and the little performances/bits that accompany them. i spend more time on youtube than i'm willing to admit and this is some rare unique good stuff.
Ic camps after time out also means people flocking to the campfires especially when the bar shuts to socialise, drink and also with massive amounts of singing
Long time historical reenactor and my friend has just started doing empire and I'm really tempted to give it a go but the anxiety is real lol! Thanks for a great video!
I have a black beduin tent out of goat hair. Don't ask me how I got it, it was a huge amout of work. (I fully made it myself) It houses up to 4 people, but it is really awesome to just like there with 2 people and then have to space to have people over. Some larps first didn't want that tent, but I have like a pretty oriental character, and after I sent them a picture I have always been accepted to come and even gotten quite a few compliments on the tent. It's really good for a summer tent but I have never used it in winter.
That's so sad your camp didn't have a guard, I hope you learned to post a guard for the next time. It helps to break up watch duty to one hour shifts so no one loses too much sleep
Why would people drink modern canned stuff in Larping!?.....even if you’re pouring it into a tankard....surely you should bring your homemade mead?...(take an old ale....add honey and herbs..., Instant mead)....
