I like the "combat ready" video concept. A lot of stuff on DCS treats learning a module like doing real training, but something like this can help you get going with a module during something like a trial to even see if you're interested in going deeper with it.
Yeap you nailed it watching his Apache videos is how i got up to speed on it. I've since read parts of the manual to become proficient with most of the systems
As a hornet pilot, my LAW is usually like 40ft. I might have a certain dislike of SAMs and a certain level of enjoyment in killing them without using ARMs.
Casmo, I'm so glad you're one of the people doing tutorials for the Mud Hen. You may be the only RU-vidr who innately understands their audience when it comes to flying in DCS.

Shame on me for not saying it sooner, but I caught the last episode of LLH today, and wanted to say thank you for a great run and lots of learning, entertainment and value from that as well. You’ve been a huge asset and contributor to both the sim and wider aviation communities. I hope you’re able to better enjoy time away from work with a bit less responsibility and I applaud you making the hard choice.

This was a great video and is exactly the kind that I love. Get to the point and cover stuff that you had difficulty with. That’s what got me started with videos.. I saw people asking the same questions over and over and wanted to help. Keep up the awesome work and I can’t wait to see more!

Aaalright your videos convinced me to give the F-15E a try. What kept me away is that it looks super complex for an analog guy like me. But you said it’s surprisingly not that complicated compared to other modules and the way you explain how it works is very logical. I’ll be watching the whole series!
I like the "Combat ready" approach. I dont need to be an expert day one (or day 10) I'd just like to know the basics of flying and figthing this thing. The rest I'll learn by trying or look it up in the manual :)

I like this concept. Some people really want to do every test and know every little thing. I'm sure most of us don't have enough time for that and simply want to know enough to employ the aircraft effectively. At least at first.
I have the feeling this will be one of those modules that I end up having but rarely fly. Seems like its really detailed and proficiently learning the systems will be very time consuming. I'll be glad to have it in the inventory though, it looks bad azz.

You can also display TAS or GS on HUD same way you did on DATA page. But Asterisk T or G on same data page. It will help you during ground ops for check taxi speed or TAS for Bomb delivery.😊
My hope is it'll be like the Apache where while it is a complicated aircraft, with the assistance of an AI crew member (when we get there), you can be pretty deadly without knowing the ins and outs of the sensors and weapons systems.

Can't wait to get into this bird... Lucky I can fly the planes without rudder as I'm struggling to fly Apache and others with only one leg .. rudders don't work without 2 feet. Lol
I shopped specifically for a hotas with twist rudder because of my ankle condition. Ended up with the X56 and it's been treating me well. I wish some of the nicer rigs offered a twist rudder option but it is what it is.
Well just as a correction it isn't an APU just like on the F-16 it isn't an APU. They both work with JFS, Jet Fuel Starter, and that is literally the only thing it does is get the engine running so that you can get the rest of the systems online. It won't give you electrical power or hydraulics. It just physically turns the turbine (through a gearbox) to get it up to speed. As far as displaying the Nav pod onto the HUD the F-16 (when it carried the Nav pods) wasn't too much different for displaying it to the HUD. The bottom two rotaries on the left and right side of the UFC keypad were used to display that to the HUD. I don't recall the F-16 displaying it to a MFD so I don't know about doing a rotary to get it on the MFD for the Strike Eagle. A Strike Eagle guy would have to comment on that one.

Hi Casmo, great video, can I just ask a question regarding your view settings your screen and image seems a lot lighter than what I get I’m using 2.2 on the gamma settings in DCS and no shading but my F-15E looks sooooo dark same in the cockpit other modules seem ok. If I increase the gamma it seems to go too bright. Just asking if you have any advice. The video is great and has helped me immensely to get going in the F-15 loving the module. Thanks
I can understand your disdain for engine start-ups. You get paid do do that for real and it is an annoyance you deal with for work. I can totally see why you would just want to hop in and have fun.
Exactly what I thought when I saw that. Gear down shows 0' in hud, Wonder if they'd match with gear up below 7ft. Who wanna fly lower than 7ft to find out? ..... ooooh ooooh me me lol

No, it does not work,, it’s listed under F15 WSO commands, not pilot, pilot sows 1,6,7 wso shows 1 & 2. I have to go out now . Will try to delete and insert again later today & reach out and report it’s no progress. Thank you
The very first thing you should know is NEVER give DCS money up front. Once they have the money they have no need to ship a product in a reasonable time frame.
The module has not been released, so no need to buy it yet if this makes you angry. The product is released when ready for early access. Are you going to one of the ones complaining it is not feature complete at EA also? Probably it will be in EA for years.
