@@neartheplumtree Depending on the contract signed with the label, the artist gives up part of their freedom in making music. When you sign to a label, you often are required to release a certain amount of songs/albums before the contract ends, or you have to wait a certain amount of time before the contract ends. Eric's contract might have him tied to a schedule of releasing music, or he could be possibly trying to wait out the restrictions the label has on him. They also might limit the amount of music he puts out in order to ensure the success of individual drops. Labels can be pretty restrictive, sometimes even controlling how the music is made (genre, producers, etc.)
He says all the time they don’t tell him what he can & can’t make but he wants to have fans be surprised when he releases and not leak everything ahead, Also as he’s mentioned the label owns his music so they def have a say in when he drops, but I’m sure if there’s something he really wants to he could just discuss w them & put it out, no? *he’s also said he is a perfectionist and won’t like how stuff sounds even when everyone else is saying it’s great and to release it
Pls check out the new Jane Remover single "Census Designated" it has her first music video ever, also the new RXKNephew song "Slitherman vs Nephew" would probably get a ton of views if you reacted to it
