Think All Seiko 5's Look the Same? Wait Until You See These New Releases

Seiko has been making watches since the late 1800s, but they produced their first domestic wristwatch in Japan in 1913. To celebrate the 110th anniversary of that first watch in 2013, Seiko released a new Limited Edition cream dial beauty.
First I'll be showing you the Seiko 5 Sports Field Watch 110th Anniversary Limited Edition with a cream dial. It's about 40mm, has a hardlex crystal, exhibition caseback, and comes with an extra leather strap. The blue hands and cream dial look great. It's powered by Seiko's 4R36 movement and has 100m water resistance.
Next I'll show two Seiko 5 watches, one a USA edition inspired by vintage race cars, and another vintage re-issue inspired by a 60s Seiko model. The USA edition has a nylon strap with a stripe that matches the dial. The vintage reissue has a silver dial that looks the part. Both are based on the Seiko 5 case, around 42mm, with hardlex crystal and 100m water resistance.

I bought the SRPK09K1 in November 23. It's a really beautiful watch. Loved the color combination of sunburst grey dial, orange second hand and "automatic" written in blue. Here In India I bought it for around 300 usd after discount from a Seiko boutique on a black Friday sale.

I noticed there is a difference in the SRP's cases, in the lower crown guard area, sometimes it is more curved, sometimes more straight. Looking at lots of pictures/videos, it seems some of the more expensive models feature the more curved line, but not always. Interesting.

I am a Seiko fan, but just cannot get into the 5 series. I picked up a new old stock green face kinetic that is stunning, have my Seiko's from the 90s still. I am sort of stuck on older Seiko's and perhaps the classic divers. I have sold my swiss watches and have settled in value land with Casio, Seiko, Citizen, and Islander, so I should be more on board with the 5's, but the two I had, had such bad dial hand alignment, and yet the kinetic, 90s chrono, and samurai are perfectly aligned.

they made a smaller pilot at 36mm, a smaller 5 diver at 38mm. so when are they going to reduce the size of the dress kx . a 38mm would be good.

I like the racing watch but when you think about it the watch should really be a chronograph. I really like the field watch too. In a field watch I'm looking first of all at how legible it is and with the hands outlined in a color that contrasts to the dial the legibility if very good.

Seiko released a lot a models for the 42mm case but I’m still waiting for some new colors in the 38mm case. Nothing after the first three ones, really weird 🤷🏻‍♂️
