Hi Tyler, by the way, they made a musical version of that book, too. It's called "The inner game of music". A guitar teacher recommended it to me about 20 years ago because he was very enthusiastic about it. I don't know if it is still on the market, though.
I ran here as soon as I heard! New video! This is a really great tip, I'm trying it out now, but how do you keep the voice from getting in the throat. I'm thinking of it ringing in between my ears (from your other videos), it's just a bit tricky to do the ear ringing resonance and also downward pressure!
Yes exactly right! You have to try to sort out the different sensation of a slight pressure in the crown of your bottom back molars while still allowing the metalic sounding resonance to flow past up in your head. Just keep playing with it. It should feel really good and never hurt.
Tyler, i want to Thank you cause you've helped me alot. since i started watching your videos and my voice just keeps getting better and better thanks for your way of teaching I have to say that this channel is soooooo underrated. you should be known more and recognized for your good teaching skills and beautiful voice. I have a quick quistion, what do you think is the time the voice takes until it matsures?
Depends what you mean by secondo passaggio? Everyone has a different meaning it seems. I feel like I make the main transition into my upper voice at F#4 or G4 and then from there I can take that up to about a D5 and then I have to change strategies again if I go into the super high range like G5. Hope that makes sense.
@@tylerwysong Yeah seems like we're talking about the same thing. Thanks for letting me know! That is where my current coach is saying my voice transitions at as well. Some people seem to call it passaggio, some call it bridge, transition into upper voice/register, etc. Your voice sounds like a more mature and disciplined version of mine so I was curious to know where your transitions were.
Interesting. When I tuck the abdomen up and in on the inhale and then expand the navel on the exhale, I've noticed that my A4-C5s sound fuller and more relaxed.
Wait hold on. I’ve experimented with this too, but I’m very confused about how to make this work with a catch breath in between phrases. Are we supposed to be pulling the abdomen in on those as well? Or does that only work when the music allows you enough time?
