And I thought my 12 years old Corsair 500R was big. The 7000D is wider, way taller and just a bit deeper. Maybe a thing to keep in mind once videocards get to 5 slot width :)

many years ago I paid $35 for an Antec tool less case around when windows 98 came out, all steel heavy AF used that case till about 2 years ago. My current case has no glass panels, if I ever have to replace it next case also will not have any glass panels or any RGB, I understand some people like shiny things, it would be nice if they had a better selection of NON RGB parts.

Antec made great shit; arguably the best cases/fans back in the day. Unfortunately, their R&D didn't quite keep up, and the rest of the market left them behind. There was news recently that they were getting back in the ring, so best of luck to them!

I would also recommend people to check videos of people making PCs with the cases before purchasing. There is a lot of high praise for Montechs Sky Two cases which advertise as having great cable management. Unfortunately, even with custom PSU cables that are thinner, it was extremely difficult getting motherboard and psu cables set without it near the fans as the cables tree in the back only supports the wires the pcs already came with and very little leg room for anything else. Great Case Aesthetically, pain in the ass for cable management.
@MrSamadolfo
@MrSamadolfo 5 месяцев назад
I have a SKY TWO, its a great case as a showpiece, i have mines in the kitchen, its unique and i dont know if anyone has copied it yet, its basically a mashup of a Lian Li 011 and a Lian Li Lancool II MESH with the power supply on the bottom, yes its difficult to cable manage because the rear panel area has very little room, I suggest using one of those tiny short power supplies with modular plugs and only use the psu cables that u really need. On the roof it has support for a liquid cooled 3 fan radiator which not many cases allow u to have nowadays but this case has it so I installed a 360mm in mines on the top, I got the all snow white version, I installed an all white gigabyte vision card, I got rid of the included fans and picked up 6 argb fans with fan blades that lite up, I don't like argb fans that dont light up the fan blade. Its a great case, if you want a case thats easy and gravy to cable manage then stick the cases that are shaped like the Lian Li 011 all those cases have a nice big cavity on the backend so u can just stuff everything in there. Try not to stress any cables or connections, just lay them all in there nice and loose and throw the cover back on.

I have an older Montech Air X case, purchased in 2022 @ $60. It was plently easy to build in for a lower end build (12400, RX 6600, full ATX mobo). Maybe if you are overpopulating this with "stuff" you could run into something, but I dont think most non-streamers are doing all of that.
@franciscoc905
@franciscoc905 5 месяцев назад
@@jeremynorris_hostyl1 I have a small 240 AIO on top but the wires required wasn’t a issue. It the fact the four pre installed fans and connectors needed for front IO left very little space for the other necessary parts, especially the Motherboard 24 pin connection which I had a custom extension to ensure it wouldn’t take up much space and it ended up very janky because I ensure the cord wasn’t pulling on the Motherboard.
@franciscoc905
@franciscoc905 5 месяцев назад
@@MrSamadolfo The PSU I have already have a modular design with thin connectors. The main issue was 24 pin connector and needed to use a extension cable that allowed to squeeze through the small space left after the required cables for fans and front IO which made the bulk of the cable tree

While I'll admit I solidly stand by tech's advice here, i still feel like he's missing out on so many good pc cases! I mean if simplicity and ergonomics are the main aspects desired in a case then you would still have A TON of options. Personally I'd rather build in an Antec Performance 1 if I wanted to stick with a more classic look. Or even the King95 case is extremely simple to build in and looks great imo. Thermaltake also makes amazing cases and some are extremely simple to build in such as the Ceres 300 and Ceres 500. A personal favorite of mine at least currently speaking is the DeepCool Morpheus due to the different layout options and the ability to go from a single chamber to a dual chamber case without much difficulty. All I'm tryna say here is Tech your missing out!

Indeed, it would be a full time job to be a case reviewer. While doing so could make you the "go to" case channel, it would be of a limited focus and thus limited revenue. Almost any part of the PC business could be that way, from CPUs and GPUs to motherboards. Oh motherboards, what a topic!
@T.Lspitz
@T.Lspitz 5 месяцев назад
@TechDeals oh i totally agree! Plus it would just be a big pain in the arse to review so many cases! Double that! Motherboards by far would be more fun and interesting to review. One of my favorite RU-vid channels to check out for board reviews is buildzoid over at "actually hardcore overclocking" due to his in depth analysis of the vrm phases and memory controllers.

Bought the Corsair Carbide Clear 400C Black back in 2018. It housed a 8400, a 9700k and now a 13700K. The way the panel opens with a hinge is the main reason i kept that case for so long. Having that on a 90$ case was insane to me. Sure it's not a glass panel but even though i want to upgrade to a Lian Li 011 Dynamic, i always halt that because of how much i like this case. Eventually i will proceed with the upgrade but i am never selling that case.

I'm of the opinion that a case should be bought like a power supply, for long term ease of use and maintenance, one shouldn't skimp out on it. I 100% agree with what was said, cheap cases sacrifice way too much to hit those price points. I've built pc's in cheap antec, thermaltake, ultra (sold by tiger direct back in the day), rosewill, cooler master and have learned that lesson. I've noticed that around the $80 price point is where you find halfway decent cases and would suggest starting there to look for "budget" cases. My go to is usually Fractal Design either the Meshify or Define cases. I've also built in Lian Li, Phanteks and Coolermaster with positive experiences as well. I'm the opposite of you Tech Deals , I've never built in a Corair case before, so I don't usually recommend or talk about them to friends and family cause I have no experience with them. I've seen the reviews and seen them at Microcenter, but just never bought one to see how good they are.

I bought a cit blaze case for about £60, came with 6 blue led fans. It wasnt bad to build in if you removed all the fans first, moved the front 3 inside the chassis and screw them all in from the exterior, after installing everything else. There is precisely 0.5 inches of cable management space behind the motherboard and that was a big issue, i still have most of the wires jammed in the hdd tray underneath my old hdd. Spending just £30 more would have gotten me a nicer case and a pack of fans would of been £30 aswell, so it really depends pn what you want.

🙂 i just checked and that case looks like its only in the UK, looks like an older generic model that was designed befor the argb era, yes alot of cases even modern cases dont give u enough room behind the back panel, thats why I usually stick to Lian Li 011 cube shape cases so u can just create a little loose nest of wires on the back end and close her up. Its gravy.
@mickieg1994
@mickieg1994 5 месяцев назад
@@MrSamadolfo yea, i think cit is native to the uk, very budget friendly brand It is a very generic case and it's actually the first part of the pc upgrade i bought, so i had some fun with it and threw all my old components from my old machine in there at first, figured out a few little niggles with the case that way, aswell as some experience in pc building too which i'd never really done before. then when i recieved my new parts i had to tear down the new case, reassemble in the old, then finally build the new pc parts in the new case, as a new builder that experience was invaluable and fun too.

i realised after buying cheap mobo that afterwards i had to buy a fan header because my mobo had pins for just 2 fans , and even the sata ports were just 2 and i had 3 drives , the place between the gpu's pcie slot and the x4 slto was so less that you cant use the x4 slot for say a network adapter in case the ethernet port stops working after 2 years which happens quite a lot and thats one thing you cant use your pc without , then i realised i had a beefy 2nd hand gpu which was working fien but i wish it had the support of better mobo compenents like mosfets ,etc , same thing with a cheap case you soon realise that after putting in the mobo with the cpu heatsink there is hardly any space left for putting a case fan on that side and its a bit messy in there with all the cables , you want enough airflow and enough case fans which are easy to remove and install in case they go bad and they do after a year or two of heavy use , you have to constantly be careful in a small case not to push a wire into some fan or not to put too much pressure on gpu/heatsink while replacing a case fan because if you accidently do that too many times it has risk of damaging the pcie slot latch which helps hold the gpu firm in place , and guess what if that latch is damaged and comes out you cant keep your case straight and use the gpu because it will hang improperly and wont be firm in the pcie slot and it gives issues , i also bought a set of dust mesh filters which wont come with the cheap cases for the top side , it only comes for the front side and its highly recommended to use dust filters otherwise you will have more problems cleaning the inside of the pc case and the gpu becomes too tiring to clean , it also helps increase the lifespan of components by keeping them clean and easy airflow its better to accumulate a bit more money and wait and get the better one instead of rage buying and being stupid also theres another thing with checking the gpu height and the cpu heatsink's height which might be compromised in cheap cases sata , hdd also make a big mess of cables and space in cheap cases , its almost like a punishment while cable managing from the backside of the mobo , you can observe that the wires stand out a bit and you jsut wished there was more space so that while closing the right side of the case it wont cause harm to the wires by forcefully pushing them

I'm surprised to hear the airflow is spectacular in the 7000D, I mean for a long CPU cooler sure, but that GPU is just SOOO far away from the front fans, I can't imagine there would be much cool air getting to it, especially if the card isn't gigantic. I had this exact issue with my Fractal Meshify S2 which is also a very long case, and ended up getting a little bracket from Amazon to mount 2 fans under the GPU, and it made a noticeable difference to GPU temps. I like the look of the 5000D - it looks just right. Would probably build in that right now if I was doing a full build

Not really, especially when we enter popular RGB/aesthetic territory when prices and value get all over the place. There's also premium you pay for products coming from well-known brands - underdog in type of Montech will give you better case for the money than e.g. Corsair. There's also SFF market with all of these small, boutique manufacturers who aim totally opposite to value.

Corsair Cases, are typically built well. But i would literally rather endure an eye injury, than to deal with iCue or any vendor specific rgb program ever again.

😄 i here you broh, on my flagship rig i have to run three different argb programs, one from corsair, one from gigabyte, and one from MSI, maybee one day there will be some sort of universal standard so u can use it with one piece of software?

Cooler master 500d mesh is one of the best cases. Better than Lian Li and cheaper. My PC has R9 5900X and RTX 4090. Never even gets warm. Runs at about 49C- maybe 60C at max temp gaming like a madman for 8 hours straight. It runs ice cold. My PC case removes so much heat so quickly that it makes my room get pretty hot and I'm talking like 80° F or warmer and I have to turn my air conditioner on but the PC itself stays cool. That's how you know you have a good PC case when your computer never rises in temperature but your room is hot from all the heat that it's removing

Jason this is why you don't have a Mercedes G Wagon parked in your garage. For the insanely cheap spurge of $300 you get piece of mind and the easiest upgrades possible. This is why people manage their money so they can enjoy stuff and save time.

Well, that, and I find the Mercedes G Wagon to be silly and expensive for what it is. I'd rather have a Yukon XL Denali for half the price, but that's me. :)

Sorry Tech, I do disagree on this one - or, more precisely, "it depends"... Gaming PC with a >100W CPU and a modern GPU? Sure, you need a case with good airflow, and $80 for that Corsair is great. But Super-Budget second-hand PC's (Haswell or earlier with GT-560), or office PCs running a 65W CPU with stock cooler, onboard graphics and no side window, which will sit on the floor? A basic mATX SFF case for $40 will be fine. Power supplies now, never skimp on...

10 year old office PCs shouldn't exist anymore, they are insecure and you can buy brand new office PCs for $300 with solid parts.

Agreed. Corsair 4000D Airflow is a great case balancing cost and quality. With more space, 5000D Airflow would be a great buy if it hit $130 but is usually around $140-$150. My next build is going to be in a 4000D Airflow.

No, dont buy it, I don't recommend getting any case that obstructs or blocks the argb fan lights, get something else, front panel that is fully meshed or front glass panel. Get something better, for an example get the "AntEsports 510 Air Mid Tower" which is a clone of a cooler master case.

Same case since my Intel core 2 duo. Setups my case has seen: I5 8400 xfx 5750 R5. 3600 rtx 2060 I5 13400f rx6800xt Always opened, no fans, no liquid stuff. Learn how to undervolt.... More than 10 years of serve.❤❤❤ Stop wasting money, on useless stuff. Fancy RGB, etc. Spend on your components, not on your exteriors. No one is watching that. Are you gonna play or look at the ridiculous expensive CASE you have? 😂 Please ...

I'm sorry but I have to say that this video IS you beginning to tell us how much you hate cheap cases. LOL. But a good case is often THE thing to spend a little extra money on because it will last multiple generations. You can build a replacement system in it and there is no case cheaper than the one you already have. Buy a great case for your next two or three systems.

Another consideration is case size. I don't have space for a large ATX case so had to go mATX instead. I currently use a Jonsbo C3 Plus mATX model.

I paid about $40 for a PC case in 2020. It had terrible airflow but was good enough for the FX8320 and Radeon 7950 3GB that I had at the time. I still have the case, CPU, GPU, motherboard, and RAM from that build but I don't use any of it. My current PC has a Kediers C570 open air case that has 7 RGB fans and a Corsair H100i 240mm AIO cooler.

Bruuuuuh, sorry to tell u bro but those are workstation cases, I would never ever use them anywhere in my home, especially NOT in the living room or the kitchen or any bedroom, the only exceptions is for a home server and or security system filled with 3.5 hard drives that u have tucked away in a closet or in the basement or in the attic or in the garage. For home it MUST BE "Form Over Function", u are not at work, so the only case that is acceptable is something that is a Showpiece so that you can Flex and Brag, so that means its got to have front glass and side glass. So yeah that means the Lian Li 011 or its sisters or its cousins or any of the countless clones that it has breeded and spawned across all manufacturers, that is thee GOTO and End All in cases for a home in 2024 and beyond into Infinity, right here, right now. You need something smaller and cuter checkout the Lian Li Mini or its clones. You need something with less width then checkout the SKY TWO. If you need something with a DVD Drive checkout the newly redesigned Cougar MX330-G PRO. And if you need an inverted case because u have to have the PC on the left side then checkout the Lian Li 011 EVO or Segotep T1 Full-Tower E-ATX Gaming PC Case. And last if you are a diehard Corsair Fan then the only ones I would dare to consider are the cases that they sell that have a front glass panel, I just checked and theres various new models and older models such as the Crystal Series. Hope that helps. Be Good and God Speed. 😇🙏
